Hearing Lucy’s name, Jessica was a bit stunned. She thought it was only an entanglement among Xander, Angela, her ex-bestie and herself, she didn’t expect to see Lucy, an outsider, involved in this.
However, Lucy wasn’t too much of an outsider after all.
After a thorough investigation, it turned out not only Jessica was waiting for someone in the coffee shop, also Lucy happened to be there that day.
Hurley handed over the investigation file to Jessica. She opened and read it. Looking at Lucy’s information, she was a little surprised, “I had no idea about this at all.”
Lucy broke down emotionally after she found out from Xander that Jessica’s original name had been Flora.
The reason was simple. Her father was the paedophile man and he was murdered.
Lucy’s father had been the man who intended to sexually harassed Jessica. For others, her father had been a man of public criticism; but for Lucy, he had been the mainstay of her life.
Jessica had killed her father, which led a difficult life for Lucy and her mother being pointed at. Later on, her mother couldn’t stand the gossip anymore and had taken her to live in another city. Her mother had become a prostitute to raise her up.
Having grown up under such circumstances, Lucy, though seemingly gentle and harmless, was actually obsequious and supercilious, and hates everyone with a good life.
She had been jealous of Jessica in every aspect. Jessica had stolen her thunder at the party last time, and now she knew that Jessica was the culprit who had killed her father and had left her in the midst of family upheaval, her heart was full of resentment.
She had wanted to kill Jessica through the hands of Angela, but she underestimated that girl’s psychological endurance. After a bit of threat, that girl spilt out everything, including Lucy, who brought up with the idea.
Though Hurley told Jessica everything, he didn’t let her see Lucy, because she was pregnant and shouldn’t see those filthy and unsavoury characters.
Jessica didn’t insist on it. It wouldn’t any difference. She just pondered, with the charge of homicide, and plus Hurley’s ability, it was estimated that Lucy would never come out in this life.
“If someone does something bad, it will really bring karma to his own descendants.”
If Lucy was born in a normal family, she would not have such serious psychological problems, let alone making irreparable accidents because of the past.
‘Fortunately, I’ve been doing charity.’ Hurley thought, maybe he should put more money in it.
After a few words, the two threw the matter behind them. Now that the matter was settled, it was neither a big deal nor worth mentioning anymore.
But due to the past few nearly injuries, Hurley started to put Jessica under close watch. Even though Jessica had an obedient personality, she felt a little overwhelming.
After staying at home nourishing for a period of time, she was bored to death.
One day, she called Tania and asked, “I reckon the Fan Meeting Day is coming soon. Where is it going to be this time?”
Although she was a scarlet, she still had a small group of loyal fans. They held a fan meeting every year and she attended every time.
“I was going to talk to you about it. Because you are pregnant and aren’t able to attend any event, I plan to cancel it.” Tania said with a laugh, “You know how protective Hurley is. He would never let you out, would he?”
Jessica sat up straight and raised the voice trying to be more convincing, “I’m the Queen at the moment. I’ll take care of him. Let’s act first and ask for permission later. What can he do to me?”
Hearing her solemn words, Tania put her hand on her head and said, “Tomorrow morning at 8 o’clock at city A.”
“Sure. You come over to pick me up.”
