Jessica, with a forced smile, interrupted Xander who was immersed in his own thought, and said, “Time and tide wait for no man. I have already married.”
“I don’t believe. I am the noblest man who will never be defeated by earthliness!”
Obviously, Xander’s mode of thinking was very peculiar. Jessica grabbed Tania’s hand and said to him that they were busy with other things. So they checked out and left immediately.
Later they went shopping in the mall. When they went to pick up the car at the parking lot, they were surprised to find Xander was arguing bitterly with Luby.
“We had been in love for so many years, why did you abandon me suddenly? How many people have I slept with over the years in order to help you find a job as a waiter. As soon as you hear about Jessica, you come to her.” Her tone sounded very sorrowful which could touch passers-by.
Xander shook his hair, “I thought you would understand my real intention. That I wanted to be with her was to let you live a good life.” After listening, Luby was surprised.
Xander’s eyes became bright, “If I can be with her, I don’t need to struggle for many years. I must seize the opportunity. Don’t worry, even if I’m with her, I will still care about you.”
“The company of her father has already bankrupt and she has no money at all now.” Luby tried to persuade him.
“No, you are wrong. I saw she was still generous at the hotel that day…” Xander said greedily.
Tania didn’t want to hear their conversation any more. She got on the car and muttered, “He is just like the slag that is disgusting.”
Jessica thought quietly in the car, and she didn’t expect to become a popular person.
Xander still lay to fool Luby, but she refused to believe what he said. Xander was really impatient and threw away her hands. He used to be angry after he failed to cheat others.
Xander left Luby who crouched on the ground alone. She felt very ashamed of herself after being abandoned by Xander who fawned on Jessica. A great sense of shame made her want to escape.
At this time, someone handed over a piece of paper. Lucy looked at her with gentleness and said with a meaningful smile, “Don’t cry.”
Luby recognized her, “Are you Jessica’s college classmate?”
“My name is Lucy. I can help you take revenge if you want.”
“That is great.” Luby hated Jessica who made her lose job as well as her boyfriend!
Then they discussed about their plan of taking revenge.
After the last reunion in the hotel, Lucy easily got Jessica’s phone number, and then told Luby.
Luby made up her mind to call Jessica, “You may remember who I am. I want to have a talk with you. Xander knows that you are rich now and tried to fawn on you. He wants to break up with me, but I don’t agree.”
Jessica refused, “It’s your business from the beginning to the end. It has nothing to do with me. I won’t go. I hope you’ll get along well with him throughout your life.”
Luby suddenly sobbed, “I love Xander and also did something wrong before. I have been diagnosed as depression and feel such uncomfortable now. I hope you can come for the sake of our friendship in the past.”
After listening, Jessica couldn’t help rolling her eyes and realized that Luby tried to persuade her by moral coercion.
Jessica forgot when the conversation ended up. In a word, Luby didn’t want to hang up until she agreed. Jessica finally consented on the grounds of Luby’s caring for her in the menstrual period. At that time, Luby was hurt on the way to buy her a cup of hot milky tea in high school.
Jessica thought that it would be their last meeting in which she would make everything clear. After that, she would make a determined effort to look to the future.
