James heard the noise downstairs and knew that Kara had returned. He forced himself to get up and go downstairs.
Seeing Kara push open the door, James couldn’t help but quicken his steps and pull her into his arms tightly.
He rubbed his chin against the woman’s fluffy little head and smelled the medicine on her body. Only then did his uneasy heart calm down.
“James, you hugged me too tightly.”
James quickly let go of her and looked down at her face. Half of her face was red and swollen, and her cold eyes were malicious.
The man’s fingertips were slightly cold as he gently touched her face. Kara subconsciously rubbed her cheek against his palm.
“James, it hurts.”
James lowered his head and kissed her cheek. He comforted her softly, “I’ll apply medicine for you.”
“Uncle Corey has already applied medicine for me. James, how are your injuries? Let Uncle Corey take a look at you.” Kara nervously held his palm and stared at Corey with anticipation.
Corey glanced at James and reached out to take his pulse. However, James turned his wrist and grabbed Kara’s hand to interlock her fingers.
“I just took the medicine. I’m fine now.”
Corey twitched when he saw that James was pale.
James was unwilling to be treated by Corey. But now Corey also had a sense of curiosity though he originally did not want to waste his energy.
“James,” Silence walked over.
“Yeah,” James nodded.
There were some things that he did not want Kara to know, so he glanced at Silence. They had a tacit understanding. Silence did not say much and went to the living room for tea.
Will went downstairs and raised his eyebrows in surprise when he saw Silence.
“Silence, didn’t you go out on a mission for a few months?”
“Well.”
Silence glanced at him coldly. He just lied because he didn’t want to be forced into a marriage without love. How could Will believe what the elders said!

James asked Libby to pour tea for them. He first took Kara upstairs to rest for a while and then went downstairs to talk to them.
Kara was still worried about him and wanted Corey to treat him. James took her upstairs.
When they reached his bedroom, he hugged her and they looked at each other.
“Kara, I’m sorry.”

“You didn’t hit me. Why do you apologize? I know that you love me very much,” Kara said.

James stared at her with his brown eyes, grabbing her dry lips and gently comforting her.
Kara hugged his neck tightly. She closed her eyes and responded to him intoxicatedly.
The kiss between the two was passionate and zealous.
The two reluctantly let go after a while.
Kara was dizzy and her big teary eyes were full of attachment.
“James, if you don’t coax me, then I will coax you.”
“Yes.”
“I, I miss you so much that I want to cry.” After saying that, she almost choked up.
James lowered his head and kissed her. He wanted to take her at every moment.
In the waiting time, every minute and second was torture.
He carried her to the bathroom, poured hot water, and bathed her.

“I don’t need you to bath me. I can do it myself.”

After bathing her, James dried her with a towel again. He carried her back to the bedroom and placed her on the bed.

“Kara, close your eyes. Don’t be afraid, I will accompany you.”
Kara opened her eyes wide and stared at him for a while. Although she was reluctant, she still closed her eyes obediently. However, her hands were uneasily holding his little thumb.
James stared at her hand. He slightly raised a smile as he lowered his head to kiss her pink lips.
She had just taken a shower and her cheeks looked pinky.
When her breathing was steady and he knew that she was asleep, James released her hand and left the bedroom.
When he went downstairs and saw that Corey had not left, he frowned.
“Is Kara asleep?” Will asked.
Kara drank the milk with medicine for calming her mind.
“Yes.”
James nodded. He looked at Corey, “If there’s anything, let’s talk at my study.”
Corey was expressionless. The few of them got up and went upstairs to James’s study.
“Was he a member of the Abbots?”
James must have investigated the kidnapping of Kara, so he asked Corey directly.
When James heard from Corey that the kidnapper was from the Abbot family, he clenched his fists.
