“Are you coming or what?”
Eion asked me irritatedly from the stairs and I offered a small smile to Eion’s father before ascending the stairs and followed Eion. He entered a door that was painted in navy blue before motioning for me to come.
Entering the room, it was actually Eion’s bedroom. I looked around, expecting his room to be messy and dirty but instead, I was greeted with a very clean room.
There wasn’t a single mess. I touched the wall and saw that there was not even dust. The only mess was the shirt that he wore earlier, laying at the edge of his bed. I could say it’s massive since my room was even half of it.
When I entered, a small living room greeted me. The black cushioned sofa was soft and leather, the big flat-screen television in front of it, and the bed that had navy blue covers.
The structure of his room was modern and was made from hardwood. On a corner there were two doors, the first was I guess a bathroom.
Everything was dark except the white walls that are complimenting the room.
Still, in awe, I turned to look at him, “Is this really your room?” I asked, still a bit shocked.
He nodded, “We’re going to finish our task here.”
I nodded but the thought of being alone with him crossed my mind, “Should we? We can finish it in your living room if you want..”
He shook his head at that, “I want to finish it here so that we won’t have distractions.”
“Okay?” I said though it sounds like a question rather than a statement. Was it because he saw his father that changed his mood? Anyways, I don’t have to poke my nose into other people’s business. I learned it the hard way.
Eion sat on the edge of his bed, removing his shoes. I clamped my mouth shut, not letting my curious mouth ask him something that will break us getting along.
I don’t want to destroy my progress of being his friend, I mean, especially now that he’s my partner.
A knock came a minute later and Maria appeared, holding two orange juice with cookies and snacks.
“Thank you,” I said while Eion just got the food without another word. We then ate in silence and after that, I got my laptop from my bag and tied my hair.
“I had researched more.” He said and grabbed his own laptop from the bedside table. I raised my eyebrows, finding it a bit strange that he’s cooperating with me now but just stayed silent.
“Here.” He motioned for his laptop. I moved towards him towards the edge of the bed and stared at the screen.
“Did you really make this?” I asked in awe.
He looked at me blankly, “Yes.”
“It is amazing!” I exclaimed. Grabbing his laptop which was on his lap, I continued scanning his work.
“It’s nothing really.” He shrugged like it was no big deal.
“I’ll add this to our presentation. It’s better than the work I did.” I said and started to work on it. After minutes or hours, with Eion listening to me and suggesting me some ideas, he finally stood up.
“I’ll just have something to do downstairs.” He informed me and I nodded absentmindedly. I just did a bit of copy and pasting since we had started yesterday so it was easy to finish.
Minutes later, I was finally done with our work. “And finished!” I exclaimed happily. I looked up and saw that Eion wasn’t back yet.
I released a sigh before standing up, scanning his room. In a far corner on the right, something caught my eye. A bunch of books was neatly arranged and stacked in a book holder. I walked towards it and saw it…
Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
I couldn’t believe it, Hannah was right. And it looks like he’s sort of a fan considering that he has the whole series. People always thought that it was childish of me to be fond of it now that I’m seeing that was another person fond of it too, I feel relieved…
Wow, and I couldn’t help but be in awe.
Eion, Eion Eion… You never fail to amaze me.
I took out the first book and examined it, my hand running through its softcover. I stopped when my hand reached a rough surface. I stared at the book cover and saw something weird…..
On the top left side of the cover of the book, was a sticker of something blue… Once I recognized it my eyes widened.
It was a… smurf sticker?
I double-checked and saw I was right. The smurf sticker was staring back at me, a big smile on his face. He was jumping, happy. I got the other series to check if there were other stickers also.
Alas, every single one of the books has different stickers of smurfs doing different poses on the top of the book covers.
Well, well, well, if it isn’t Eion the Robot. I can’t help but chuckle. I had never known a boy like this. Well, not that I have a lot of friends. I mean, it’s cute though.
“Snow?” A voice called from the door, stopping me in my tracks. I immediately put the books back. Hearing Eion’s footsteps, I gulped.
“What are you doing there at my desk?”
The voice of Eion boomed when he opened the door. I smiled sheepishly. He looks at the desk beside me where the books are. Noticing that the books are not neatly arranged, he raises his eyebrows at me. I could see his expression turning darker and glaring at me.
“I was just uhm…. exploring around.” I tried to reason out, but that only made him more suspicious of me. “Including checking my books?”
I nodded, smiling sheepishly and starting to ramble now, “Well, yeah, I was uhh, curious because I love books and- ”
“What did you see?” He interjected me and I could see there was a hint of something in his eyes, I couldn’t pinpoint.
I glanced at his books before answering him, “Uhmm… Books?”
He kept a straight face, still interrogating me. “What else?”
“Books?” I said again.
He sighed, running his fingers on his hair and clenched his jaw, “That’s so obvious Snow, of course, books, but what else? Did you see something… weird?” He asked again, daring me to lie to him.
I fidgeted, should I tell him?
