THE MOON GODDESS CHOICE
(A Card of Fate)
EPISODE TWENTY FIVE
THEME: Jayden’s reaction
MOON STONE FORTRESS
IN THE PACK HOUSE
Everyone looked up to see Jayden standing with clear annoyance on his face except Jaylen. As much as he wanted to avoid his brother’s trouble, he has no intention of letting him scare him away like he always did.
“What the hell is he doing here?” Jayden bickered, taking two steps at a time down the stairs. “Can someone fucking explain what the fuck is going on here?!” He yelled, spluttering some spittle.
“Calm your nerves young man, where are your manners?” Gabriella rebuked.
“Mind your damn business, oldie.” He retorted.
“Jayden!” Meagan called out his name.
“Don’t dare call my name! I need an explanation right this minute!” He snapped back at his mother.
“Did you just shut me up?” Gabriella inquired with a shocked look on her face.
He glared at his grandma. “I told you to keep your-”
Meagan didn’t let him finish before she moved close to him and slapped the living daylight out of him.
Everyone in the room gasped in shock. They had never seen Meagan so pissed at any of her children before. Jaylen remained unfazed as he watched with less interest.
Meagan pointed a finger at him. “Now you listen to me young man, I won’t have you disrespect the adults all because you think you are all grown.”
Jayden scoffed. “This is unbelievable! He hasn’t even been here for an hour but you are already showing me your true colors. That’s just great.” He spat out of annoyance.
“Jayden!” His mother sounded hurt. She rebuking him was as a result of his rudeness to Gabriella. It had nothing to do with Jaylen.
“Can someone say something else? Why is he here?!” Jayden growled again as he ignored his mother.
“Will you calm down?!” Carl’s authoritative voice rang across the room.
Jayden’s insolence was really getting on his nerves. He had chosen to feed on his father’s weak moment to do whatever he deems fit. Carl had always been worried of Jayden’s attitude to other people’s emotions and how unconcerned he was to them. His invalid state had made it impossible for him to act accordingly.
“I am still the alpha here, weak or not. I won’t have you lose your manners right in front of me. Don’t make me ask for you to be thrown in the dungeon.” Carl ordered.
No one said anything so he continued. “I had asked for your brother to return home as my dying wish. Do I need to explain myself further to you?” It took everything in him to be able to sound really strong. He just couldn’t help not acting in such manner.
Jayden had stood in front of him and disrespected not just his own mother but his grandmother. They trained him better than that.
Jayden stared ahead shell shocked as he let out an irritable scoff. “Are you even listening to yourself? Your fucking dying wish is to have your pathetic son return. To do what exactly? Help massage you?”
Everyone watched as the father and son duo tackled each other. Carl was getting really pissed. He felt insulted. “Don’t make me punish you, Jayden.” He growled.
Jayden only laughed like a maniac. “You? Punish me? What can your weak ass do? You can’t even walk on your own.”
“Oh my goodness! Jayden! Stop that right this minute!” Meagan chipped in, disappointed at Jayden’s disrespectful attitude.
“One more word from you Jayden. I would have you dealt with.” His father warned. “This is your brother’s home as much as it is yours. So you better know that and know peace.”
“I don’t fucking care what it is that you are saying, all I know is I don’t want nothing doing in the same space as him!” Jayden argued. He threw eye lasers at Jaylen. He was even more pissed at how reserved Jaylen sat despite the situation. He looked unbothered with his brother’s continuous yelling and it angered Jayden the more that he wasn’t getting any reaction from him.
“I promise, if you try anything funny. I would kill you with my own hands!” He growled at Jaylen.
Carl has had just about enough of Jayden’s attitude. “Guards! Guards!” He called out and about four of them appeared in front of him. He nodded towards Jayden. “Throw him in the dungeon.”
“You wouldn’t dare to touch me!” Jayden threatened the guards but none of them listened to him. Almost like they were hypnotized, they carried him and headed straight to the way that lead to the dungeon.
Jayden kept making a hell of a noise as he refused to back down. He threw threats at everyone in the room and even the guards.
They all kept quiet not saying anything. Carl motioned towards Meagan.
“Please take me back to the room baby.” He sounded more exhausted from the noise he had made.
Meagan nodded, patted Jaylen by the cheek before she wheeled her husband back up. Juno followed holding on to the other side of the wheel.
Gabriella hurriedly moved towards Jaylen and sat next to him. She peered into his eyes, trying to find only the goddess knows what.
Jaylen shifted further into the couch he sat in. “Can you quit being so weird granny.” He muttered.
“I wanted to be sure you aren’t an imposter.” She replied.
“Really now?” Jaylen inquired as he raised an eyebrow.
“You still haven’t told me why and when you changed your mind.”
Jaylen slapped his forehead. “It’s not like you had asked me before now granny and I only just arrived about less than an hour ago. Do you mind?” He sounded frustrated.
“Well, I do mind.”
“Grandma!” He almost wailed.
Chuckling lightly, she raised her hands up in surrender. “Fine, fine, I am really sorry. Come with me, let me take you to your room.”
Jaylen looked surprised. He had almost forgotten how it was like to be an alpha son. “I already own a room.”
“Yeah.” Gabriella nodded against his arm. “The moment you said you were ten minutes away, some maids had been ordered to prepare a nice spacious room for you.”
“You sound like a real estate marketer right now.” He teased.
Gabriella smacked the back of his head and even pulled at his ear a bit. Jaylen winced in pain. “Never you forget you are talking to your grandmother. You naughty being.”
Jaylen rolled his eyes. “Whatever you say Granny.”
“Now that’s better.” She cooed.
Behind them someone ran up the stairs panting really hard and they both turned at the same time to check. Jaylen was stunned at the sight of his sister. He wouldn’t miss that face even in the dark.
“I can’t believe this! Jaylen!” Claire screamed as she ran towards him almost knocking him off his feet.
