EPISODE SEVEN
THEME: His Birth Home
CHICAGO, UNITED STATE OF AMERICA
MOON STONE GROUP
Everyone moved around rigidly like bees at work, some of them who couldn’t control themselves whispered to each other in low tones as they did their jobs. The Chief Executive Officer of Moon Stone Group that deals in businesses that ranges from Tech, Hotels, Construction to say the least was returning from his long business trip to Asia. And knowing how insistent he is on being impeccable none of the workers wanted to be found wanting.
The moment Jaylen Damien stepped into the hallway of his company’s headquarter, every where went quiet. Being the most sort after single billionaire whose company soared high among its counterpart did take a toll on people. He commands attention everywhere he goes.
Keeping up with his walk, he only nodded to those who were conscious enough to snap out of their reverie.
“How does it feel to be labelled on Forbes list as most prospective under thirty billionaire?” Rosalyn Ramirez, his most trusted business expert teased as he stepped into the office.
Jaylen huffed as he pulled out his chair to seat. “Sometimes, I really wish they won’t ogle at me so much. It’s annoying.”
“You should be proud.” Rosalyn said, giving him a side glance as she stood up to pour him a glass of champagne that she had called for in celebration of his successful partnership with the Asian company and his name being on Chicago’s Forbes list.
Rosalyn handed him a glass. Jaylen looked amused. “Oh wow. Thank you.”
“You are always welcome. So tell me, how was the trip?” Rosalyn probed him looking eager.
Taking a sip from his glass, he placed it on the table. “You should have come with me, Rosalyn. That place was one hell of a nice place to be.”
“Coming with you would have halted things here. I needed to handle the situation here.”
“I could kiss you right now. You make my life so beautiful.” Jaylen commended innocently. But soon he got distracted by a message notification on his phone.
Rosalyn watched him in relish, ogling at how tanned his skin looked. Her thoughts raced to the number of women who would have tried to seduce him to get down with them. She felt jealous. Having met Jaylen when he was only twenty and trying to figure out how to run his idea. She was twenty five then, had recently graduated from business school and wanted to show off her skills so bad.
No company wanted to take a chance with her. On one of her days of recuperation from the week rejections, a job ad had pop up on the need for a business expert for a new start up. The rest they say is history.
During the years she had come to love him, so much beyond being just work buddies and a good friend. But she knew better than to throw herself at him. Losing Jaylen’s friendship would make it really hard for her to cope without him. They were just fine being this way and she enjoys watching from afar.
“A thousand dollars for your thought?” Jaylen winked.
Rosalyn flushed. “You want to buy?”
“Would pay just about any amount to know what runs in the uniquely brilliant brain of yours.”
“Stop it Jaylen, you are making me feel mush.”
“You should feel that way. You deserve all of the accolades you have gotten so far, Rosalyn. I couldn’t have done this without you, thank you so much.”
His sincerity has always been a turn on for her, merely looking at him made her feel tingles all up in her walls.
“Are we heading out for dinner?” She asked
“No. I am really sorry that I have to disappoint you. The message that came in was from my grandma, she seems to have missed me a whole lot. She has cooked up a storm just to welcome me.”
Rosalyn laughed softly. “That’s so thoughtful of her.”
“She spoils me silly.” Jaylen chuckled.
“You deserve it.”
Jaylen shrugged with pride. “I do try most times.” He grinned widely.
“You really wish.” Rosalyn said as she let out light giggles. “I would excuse myself now and let me give you your needed space.”
Leaving the area Rosalyn smiled at him before walking out the door. Jaylen turned his chair towards the office glass showcasing the beautiful and crowded city of Chicago. His heart felt heavy and his wolf purred continuously.
He yearned for some touch from his mother, the thought of how proud his father would have been if he heard of his exploits. As rigid as he might appear, he also cherishes the family attention once in a while. The comfort that comes with being home with the ones you really love.
However, Jaylen knew that was just a mere wish. He could never go back for the sake of so many things and most importantly the peace of mind of his parents. Jaylen couldn’t help to watch them confused consistently and uncertain of what to do being the leaders of the pack.
Being the ever considerate son, he had swallowed his pride and walked far away as much as he could. That fateful day had made him swear to never return and with an heavy heart he had moved out of his birth home.

FLASHBACK
As it has always been his brawl with his brother had ended up giving him a bloody gash on the forehead. Deep within him the fights were beginning to exhaust him. However, it seems his counterpart enjoys every minute of it and doesn’t mind causing a ruckus.
Jaylen being himself, had let his brother get to him and gotten angry. Feeding him with the reaction he had been expecting. The fight had burned him out, and he needed to go find his mother as always to help stitch it up.
On getting closer to the study door where he had been told she went, he could hear some sounds from the room. It seem like it wasn’t just his mother in the study, but also his father and judging by the tones the pack councils were also there.
Thinking they might be discussing issues relating to the pack duties, he made an attempt to go in since all he needed was his mother. His hand stayed glued to the door knob when their words filtered into his extra sensitive ear.
‘He can’t remain here.’ One of the members of the council said.
‘Why is that?’ His mother’s voice turned up.
‘It’s obvious he would continuously have issues with the alpha to be. It’s not his place, he needs to move far away from here.’ A second council member spoke.
He couldn’t really decipher the voices.
‘What do you mean by that? Why would my son be sent away from his birth home?’ His father sounded furious now.
‘You need to consider the pack, don’t make this harder-‘
They began to argue. He didn’t need to be told what they meant. It was obvious no one wanted him and not even his parents could save him.

PRESENT DAY
Inhaling deeply, Jaylen let out a long breath. His heart ached and he blinked twice before checking his wristwatch.
“Up Jaylen!” He muttered to himself. “Grandma wants you home.”
Picking up his phone and suit, he headed out of the office with a light smile playing on his lips.
