CHAPTER THIRTY EIGHT

Book:Claimed By The Ruthless Alpha Published:2024-5-1

CAMILLE’S POV :
“What girl?” Alpha Aiden asked the warrior who had asked the question.
“The warriors daughter?” The warriors repeated as I noticed he was talking about me and I raised my head. But the Alpha didn’t answer he’s question.
“She’s a maid here now?” He questioned again as everyone turned and stared at me, I couldn’t utter one word.
“How sure are you that she’s the one?, just get back to enjoying the food and don’t spoil the night” Alpha Aiden replied , leaving no room for argument as the warrior thought about it and let it go.
“You know yesterday was all because of the Ryders. I’m starting to think if only they had done everything completely because Rex was supposed to kill the Alpha before he fled, The Luna wouldn’t have been in danger and some of our men injured” another warrior spoke up.
“What can we do? We have to pay for other people’s silly mistakes” Alpha Aiden agreed as I looked at him while he said all those trash about my parents. A tear threatened to fall but I held it back.
Most of them discriminated my parents and accused them. They can’t even acknowledge the good they have done, my fucking parents died protecting this Pack and left a daughter behind. But who cared? These are the warriors I was looking forward to see and admire but that was a mistake. They aren’t who I thought they would be.
I held myself back in order not to say something that will stir up trouble.
Then another person spoke up, I recognized him as our Beta, Beta Liam.
“Hold up hold up, our Alpha here had told me all About that war when I got back and I fully understood what happened but I don’t agree with some things that are said here. It’s not like they planned to die or do any of you plan to die?” He asked them. “Stop blaming the dead guys, they fought for us and our Pack till their last breath. At least we should be grateful” he concluded as he sipped a glass of wine. Alpha Aiden just stared at him not saying anything, as another warrior wanted to argue back he raised his hands.
“That’s enough, this feast was to celebrate all that we had achieved and enjoy and relax. No more arguments” he stated firmly. Standing up he raised his glass, “Cheers to the wars we have won, cheers to our accomplishments and cheers to many other things to com” he said as everyone stood up shouting cheers as they drank and got back to eating and all.
At least I was grateful for the Beta who stood up for my parents. I was glad to see someone actually say the right thing.
As the night wore on and the wine flowed, the warriors laughing and chatting with their leader and among thsmselves, feeling a sense of camaraderie that they had never experienced before.
As the feast came to a close and the warriors prepared to return home, they said their goodbyes to each other and their Leader , the Alpha as the left in two’s, three’s and the rest. Still finally everyone had come home.
The Alpha had then thanked Miss Clara and everyone for job well done and headed up to the room not before telling the maids to clean up, including I. I was already so famished but I just had to hold it in untill I am done with everything I have to do.
We maids began our work as soon as the Alpha had left to his room. The grand feast held in the dining hall had been a resounding success, with delicious food and impeccable service. However, the aftermath of such a lavish event is always a monumental task, and we knew we had a long night ahead of them. Moon Goddess help us.
The first order of business was to clear the tables of all the dishes and silverware. This was no easy feat, as there were over a dozen tables to be cleaned, each one laden with the remnants of the feast. We worked quickly and efficiently, carefully stacking the plates and bowls on trays and carrying them to the kitchen.
Once the tables were cleared, it was time to tackle the floors. We fetched mops and buckets of soapy water and set to work, scrubbing away at the marble tiles until they gleamed. It was a laborious process, but the we were used to it just that I was starved, I don’t know about the others.
Next, we turned our attention to the fireplace, which had been kept burning throughout the evening to provide warmth and ambiance. The embers had died down to a faint glow, and the ashes needed to be cleaned out and disposed of. We donned gloves and set to work, carefully scooping out the ashes and placing them in a metal bucket.
With the fireplace and floors taken care of, we moved on to the windows. The grand dining hall had floor-to-ceiling windows that offered breathtaking views of the gardens outside, but they also let in a considerable amount of dust and dirt. We fetched rags and cleaning solution and set to work, wiping down the windows until they sparkled.
Finally, with all the major tasks taken care of, We began to tidy up the room. We straightened the chairs and arranged the tables, fluffing the cushions and adjusting the curtains. It was a tedious process, but we knew that attention to detail was key to keeping the mansion looking its best.
As the night wore on and the clock approached midnight, we were finally finished with their work. They gathered their supplies and headed back to the kitchen to clean and put them away. It had been a long and tiring night, but together it was accomplished. After that everyone headed to get something to eat at least. When we were done , we bid ourselves goodnight and went to our various rooms. I am so exhausted.
Entering my room, I quickly showered and wore something comfy , getting into bed.
I was about to go to sleep , when there was a knock on the door. Ughhhhh can someone get some peace and quiet , I groaned tiredly.
