CHAPTER TWENTY SIX
CAMILLE’S POV :
“One more thing” he said and looked at me “come prepared” he said leaving with no room for argument.
I was devastated by this, I couldn’t hold back my tears any longer as I fell to the bed and they started streaming down my face.
As the tears streamed down my face, I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed with sadness. I had always known and tried to expect things like this from Aiden but I never imagined it could get this worse, it could even get to this point.
But despite my heartache, I knew i couldn’t stay in my room crying all day. I had duties to attend to, chores that needed to be done.
So, with a heavy heart and red, swollen eyes, I forced myself to get up from my bed and began to prepare.
I dressed quickly, pulling on my plain, black dress and fastening the white apron around her waist, on different occasions things can be worn.
As I stood in front of the mirror, cleaning up my face to remove any sign of tears and smoothing down her hair , but i couldn’t help but feel a twinge of sadness at the sight of my reflection.
But I had to push those feelings aside and force a smile on my face, determined to put on a brave front for today.
As I made my way down to the kitchen, I met with Miss Clara and some of the workers. Miss Clara seemed to have noticed my mood but I brushed it off as just being tired.
I tried to focus on the tasks at hand and not letting my emotions get the best of me as i cleaned and polished the silverware, scrubbed the floors, and etc.
ALPHA AIDEN’S POV :
A wide grin spread across my face as I headed to my room to be refreshed feeling good for so many accomplishments, including the one about Camille.
Oh but so tired from the war. I walked into my room and sighed, feeling the weight of the war I had just fought bearing down on me. I had done my duty and fought for my pack, but now all I wanted was to wash away the sweat and grime of battle and relax.
I walked over to my bathroom and started running the water in the tub, adding some Epsom salts and essential oils to help soothe my tired muscles.
As the tub filled up, I stripped off my clothes and caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I saw the tired lines on my face and the scars that covered my body, reminders of the battles I had fought.
But I refuse to let myself dwell on the past. I am an alpha, strong and resilient, and I have a duty to my pack. I climbed into the tub and let the warm water envelope me, feeling the tension and stress of the war slowly start to melt away.
As I relaxed in the tub, my thoughts turned to the elders I was scheduled to meet with later this evening. The elders were a group of wise and respected members of the pack, and I knew that he had important matters to discuss with him that shouldn’t wait.
I finished my bath and toweled off, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. I dressed in my finest clothes and headed out of my room, ready to face the challenges that lay ahead. I am an alpha, and I am ready for whatever will come my way.
I stepped and made my way towards the area where the meeting will be had. I had been called to meet with them, and I knew that the discussion would be a crucial one.
The rogues breaching the security and getting in was to be handled urgently. I knew that it was my responsibility to keep the pack safe, and I was feeling the weight of that responsibility heavily on my shoulders.
As I approached the clearing, I saw the elders already gathered around the fire pit, their faces grave and serious. I took a deep breath and steeled myself as I walked over to join them.
“Alpha,” Elder Greywolf said as he nodded in greeting. “Thank you for coming to see us this evening. We have a serious problem that we need to address though we know you are tired from the war and we are proud to be Victorious.”
“I know and it is no problem,” I replied. “The security breaches have been a major concern for all of us. I want to do everything in my power to protect our pack and keep us safe.”
“We appreciate your dedication,” Elder Greywolf said. “But we also believe that we need to take a more holistic approach to addressing this issue. It’s not just about fortifying our borders or increasing patrols.
We need to look at the root causes of these breaches and find a way to address them.”
I nodded, listening intently. I knew that the elders were wise and experienced, and I was eager to hear their thoughts on the matter.
“What do you suggest we do?” I asked.
Elder Redtail, a seasoned warrior and strategist, spoke up. “We need to assess all of the weaknesses in our current security measures and work to strengthen them.
But we also need to consider the motivations of those who are trying to breach our borders. Are they simply seeking resources, or is there something more at play?”
I nodded thoughtfully.
“I see what you’re saying. We need to be proactive and not just reactive. We need to anticipate their moves and be ready for them.”
“Exactly,” Elder Redtail said. “We also need to consider the role that our own pack members may be playing in these breaches.
Are there any wolves who may be acting as accomplices or facilitators, either intentionally or unintentionally?”
I sighed. “Yes but he has been taken care of and I hope not anymore because it’s something we can’t afford to ignore.
We need to be vigilant and ensure that everyone in our pack is committed to the security and well-being of the community.”
The elders nodded in agreement. “We also need to consider the possibility of seeking help from other packs or communities,” Elder Greywolf said.
“We are strong, but we cannot do this alone. We need to build allies and work together to keep our borders secure.”
I nodded, feeling a sense of determination growing within me. “I agree.
We will do whatever it takes to protect our pack and keep us safe. I will work with you and the rest of the pack to come up with a comprehensive plan to tighten our security and address the root causes of these breaches.”
“Thank you, Alpha,” Elder Greywolf said, a look of approval in his eyes. “We are all in this together, and we will work as a team to keep our pack strong and united.”
With that, the meeting came to a close, and I left the clearing feeling more resolved and determined than ever to safeguard my pack and ensure its continued prosperity.
But all peace was lost when I was linked by my Beta. “Alpha we need you”.
