CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR
ALPHA AIDEN’S POV :
“Let her in ” I told them as the healer stepped in and greeted me with respect, quickly looking at my mum she rushed to her side to start her work. Laila was here trying to calm me down but I was in no need of her calming.
As soon as the healer came she acted fast, I knew she knew that she had to act fast. Wolvesbane was a deadly poison that could kill even the strongest werewolf within hours if left untreated.
The healer had come with her bag of herbs and potions in hand.
“Please take her to her room, a bed. That’s more comfortable, quickly” the healer urged as I quickly and gently carried her back to her room with the healer on our heels.
She went to my mother who was on the bed, her body writhing in pain as the poison coursed through her veins. As if the healer could see the worry in my eyes as I watched my mother suffer.
“Don’t worry, Alpha,” the healer said, trying to reassure me. “I’ll do everything I can to save her.”
The healer set to work, preparing a mixture of herbs and potions that would counter the effects of the wolvesbane. She mixed the ingredients carefully, making sure to get the proportions just right. Once the mixture was ready, she administered it to my mum, as I prayed that it would work.
For what felt like an eternity, the healer sat by the my mother’s bedside, watching as the poison slowly drained out of her body. It was a long and difficult process, but eventually the my mother began to show signs of improvement. The color returned to her face and her breathing became more regular.
The healer let out a sigh of relief as the worst was over.
“Your mother is going to be okay Alpha” the healer smiled as she gave me the good news.
“Thank you, healer,” I said with gratitude. “I don’t know what we would have done without you.”
The healer smiled at me and squeezed my hand. “It’s my job to help those in need,” she said. “I’m just glad that I could be of service.”
With my mother on the road to recovery, the healer packed up her things and prepared to leave. Of course the healer will be appreciated as she bowed and exited the room, not before saying that mother will need lots of rest to regain herself fully.
We all left the room but I had an unfinished business to take care of.
“Did you find the person?” I linked my Beta Liam, asking him.
“I believe we have now Alpha, I was just about to tell you plus it’s a male” he said.
“Alright take him down to the torture room” I ordered my voice filled with anger and disgust.
My eyes were blazing with fury, and my fists were clenched tightly at my sides. You feel it emanating from me in waves, because I don’t know why someone will just up and betray.
Getting to the place, I walked in as Liam was already there with some warriors. The traitor tied and knelt down in front of me.
I stood in front of the traitor, my fists still clenched at my sides as I struggled to contain my anger. “How could you do this?” I growled. “How could you betray our pack like this? Your pack for that matter.”
The man looked up at me, a mixture of fear and defiance in his eyes. “I had no choice,” he said, his voice shaking. “They threatened to hurt my family if I didn’t do as they asked.”
My eyes narrowed. “You should have come to me,” he said. “I would have protected you and your family. But now, you did not only endanger us all by revealing our secrets to outsiders but you almost caused the death of my mother”.
He hung his head in shame. “I’m sorry,” he whispered. “I didn’t know what else to do.”
I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself. “I understand that you were in a difficult situation,” I said. “But that does not excuse your actions. You will be punished for your betrayal, but first, you must tell me everything you know. Who did you reveal our secrets to, and what did you tell them?”
The man looked up at me with tears in his eyes, I wasn’t the least bothered. “I revealed our location and some of our tactics to a group of rogues” he said. “They paid me a large sum of money in exchange for the information.”
So that’s how they were able to locate us but not strong enough to bend our tactics.
My anger boiled over. “You endangered our entire pack for the sake of money?” I shouted. “You are not worthy to be a member of this pack. You will be banished and left to fend for yourself but before this, there’s something I would love you to have.”
“Get me the drink” I told Liam as he brought it and put into my hand, moving backwards. No one dared to say a thing.
” You over there, open his mouth wide” I ordered one of the warriors. The man squirmed and tried to get out of the grips and chains but to no avail.
“W-what’s t-that your giving m-me?” The man asked as he stuttered.
“A little something called wolvesbane, I think you know it and you know what it does and it’s just a fair well drink from me to you” I smirked as I ordered his mouth to be opened and then poured the wolvesbane into his mouth as he was forced to swallow.
“Now I don’t want to ever see you set those foot here because I won’t hesitate to rip out your tongue through your throat, that’s if you survive anyways” I said in a not so calm way as I walked out of the room , telling them to take him away from this pack. We don’t need traitors in our midst.
