Dantai Yunhan stiffened, only to find that his blood was boiling. Pretentious and arrogant as he was, he could never allow Chu Qiao to gain the initiative.
Dantai held the back of her head with his right palm, and kissed her rosy lips with abandon. After tasting her sweet lips for the first time, Dantai Yunhan found himself insatiable, urging for more. The breath of a strange man and his unbridled invasion made Chu Qiao instinctively feel uneasy. She subconsciously clenched her teeth, and began to struggle. Chu Qiao violently pushed the chest of Dantai Yunhan, yet she didn’t succeed and conversely, Dantai somehow got closer.
Dantai Yunhan couldn’t help getting irritated. “Damned it! She wants to run away now? Don’t forget she’s the one who provoked my passion first. It’s impossible for my prey to get away! ” Dantai stroked the slender waist of Chu Qiao with his left hand, pulled off her waistband causally before slipping his hand into Chu Qiao’s clothes, and violently pinched her delicate skin.
Chu Qiao hummed as a result of the pain. Dantai Yunhan seized the chance and stuffed his tongue directly between Chu Qiao’s teeth.
Chu Qiao tried hard to dodge his offensive, yet there was no shelter. Dantai’s tongue was like a flexible snake, which easily nibbled Chu Qiao’s rosy lips and gave her a French kiss. Meanwhile, Dantai’s hand slowly moved up her skin from her waist. Buttons on Chu Qiao’s clothes were unfastened one by one along with his touch before her jade-like skin was exposed to the air directly.
The slight chill in the air, and the dryness-heat of Dantai Yunhan’s body spread to Chu Qiao simultaneously. Chu Qiao almost lost consciousness under such conflictive environment, and only felt a thrill. Dantai’s excellent kissing techniques led a flow of electricity through her body, and she was nearly going to give up struggle before forgetting herself.
Dantai Yunhan complacently chuckled, and stared at Chu Qiao with sarcasm in his slanted eyes. He thought she was unusual, but it turned out that she was the same as all the other women in his mansion. Perhaps what she had done before were merely tricks to draw his attention.
His chuckle exploded in Chu Qiao’s ears and pulled her back to her senses. She deftly rolled Dantai’s tongue back into her mouth with hers, and violently took a bite.
Feeling the pain, Dantai Yunhan gasped and hurriedly leaned backward a few inches. He spat a mouthful of blood foam, gave Chu Qiao a piercing stare and asked, “Do you know what you are doing now?”
Instead of being intimidated, Chu Qiao raised her brows banteringly with the barest hint of smile on her face. “So you are allowed to take a brutal attitude towards me, and I’m not allowed to defend myself? I think you might as well lie underneath if you can’t overwhelm me.”
“How dare you?” Dantai Yunhan could hardly believe what he heard. “I seemed to have underestimated this woman. She could even allow such shameless and rebellious words run out of her mouth. What else in this world wouldn’t she dare?”
Chu Qiao didn’t care at all, and closed to him smilingly, asking, “What’s wrong with me? You don’t like hard-to-get woman? What kind of woman do you like then? Tell me and I’ll try to be like that. ”
Seeing that her the same as all the other women in his mansion, Dantai Yunhan lost all interest. He turned over in bed and spit out, “Get away from me!”
Finding that her trick had succeeded, Chu Qiao fastened the buttons on her clothes at once, and got out of bed barefoot. Passingly, she picked up a pillow, and kept her distance with Dantai.
Dantai Yunhan slightly gave a puff of breath, and constrainedly held back his desire. It suddenly dawned on him that Chu Qiao behaved so unhurriedly, like everything was as expected. It didn’t take him too long to realize that he’s been fooled again! Dantai looked at Chu Qiao in a violent rage, only to find that she had pulled out a quilt from the cabinet, and was leisurely making her bed on the floor.
Dantai held the thought of rebuking her when he was just about to raise his voice and do so. As it would be nothing but admission of him victimized by her scheme again.
This woman … Dantai Yunhan found her hateful, as well as intriguing. “How did she make a fool of me again while maintaining her composure?”
“Anyway, out of sight, out of mind.” Dantai Yunhan also took off his robe, closed his eyes and ordered, “Blow out the candles!”
Chu Qiao decided to stop while she was still ahead. With no intention of irritating him further, she obediently blew out the candles and went to bed. As soon as she had just put her pillow in a comfortable position, a hand suddenly reached out to her.
Chu Qiao held her head up, and looked at Dantai Yunhan with doubt shimmering in her eyes.
Dantai Yunhan stared back at her as he pointed at her pillow.
Chu Qiao was suddenly enlightened and responded, “Oh, this is the only one.” Then she subconsciously held the pillow tighter.
Dantai Yunhan frowned again and sat up so as to make eye contact with Chu Qiao. “My elder brother presented us a pair of jade mandarin duck pillows at our wedding. Where is the other one?”
Chu Qiao answered without hesitation, “One pillow is enough for me. Besides, another pillow would be a dog in the manger. So I asked my maids to put it in our warehouse. ”
“Is that complaint about my cold shoulder or indication that I don’t need to come back anymore?” Dantai Yunhan’s face turned as black as thunder.
Without batting an eyelid, she guiltily wrapped herself tighter with her quilt. “Did he find out that I had pawned the jade pillow? It may not be impossible as I was extra cautious when got past that wall on my way to the pawnshop. Besides, given my agility, no ordinary guard could notice me.”
A celebrated dictum of a remarkable contemporary writer popped in Chu Qiao’s mind out of the blue, “Unless we burst out, we shall perish in this silence!” Obviously, Dantai would not choose the latter.
“Anyway, it was me who pawned that jade pillow and got myself into trouble. I might as well yield to him this time for the sake of a good night’s sleep.” Chu Qiao grudgingly stood up, and slipped the jade pillow into his arms at this idea, saying, “Here, just take this.”
Dantai Yunhan was a little taken aback, he raised his eyebrows and asked, “Becoming so well-behaved all at once… What are you really up to?”
“Don’t be so ungrateful!”
“Just forget about it!” Chu Qiao frowned, and was about to pull her jade pillow back, while Dantai Yunhan grasped one end tightly and pulled it violently, thus throwing Chu Qiao off balance, with her body directly leaning towards him.
With a “bang”, Chu Qiao’s forehead bumped against the edge of her bed. She gasped as a result of the pain, and was about to rub her wound. However, Dantai Yunhan was one step ahead.
“Hold still, you silly girl.”Dantai Yunhan unexpectedly rubbed Chu Qiao’s forehead softly and slowly with his fingertips covered by a layer of thin cocoon. He rubbed it over and over again so as to prevent her wound from swelling due to congestion.
Chu Qiao rolled her eyes in a huff, and complained, “It is all because of you.”
Dantai Yunhan didn’t take it seriously. He shrugged his shoulders and argued, “You asked for it.”
Chu Qiao took a deep breath and explained patiently, “We are in Phoenix-Perching Palace, which is my place. This pillow is the gift His Majesty presented to me. That I gave it to you just now was completely out of kindness. ”
“Kindness?” Dantai Yunhan rubbed her forehead little bit harder. Chu Qiao gasped as a result of the pain. Dantai choked back his laugh, and said banteringly, “The whole mansion belongs to me, and so do you, let alone this pillow.”
Chu Qiao frowned, and exclaimed solemnly, “Being your wife doesn’t mean that I’m yours”
Dantai Yunhan argued rhetorically, “Aren’t they the same?”
Chu Qiao gave up the idea of popularizing perspectives of the gender equality, personal freedom and marriage law with Dantai because of the pain in her forehead.
She had warned herself repeatedly to control her temper. After all, she was living in a male-dominated society where the idea that men were superior to women had rooted in people’s mind. And her attempt of reversing it would be an overestimation of her ability.
Chu Qiao pushed Dantai’s hand away and said seriously, “It’s surely different. You will understand in due course. ” After that, she tucked herself in and turned over, disregarding the suspicion in his eyes. “I’m sleepy now. Good night.”
