It’s been three weeks since the fire incident and Sia took a long break. Her reason was to recover. Thankfully, her wounds have healed but the rumor about the widow’s death still upholds.
Sia had ordered Rebekah and Liam to invite the reporters to the Monson group and inform them that the widow is not dead.
Right now, she’s sitting in her room, downing her caffeine while watching the TV as Rebekah addresses the media that the widow never died.
Sia watches, sips her drink, and goes through the documents she picked weeks ago. She took a first glance at the Woods enterprises documents and her interest blossomed.
She stared at the document minutes longer before she picked up her cell and speed-dialed Liam.
“Hello, ma’am.” Liam’s voice streamed in but you’d notice the ruckus ongoing in his background.
Sia crinkled her face while answering the call due to the ear-splitting noise blaring into the phone.
“I need you to schedule a meeting with the Wood Enterprises. I want to visit their company. And do that in the span of an hour.” Sia spilled her orders. The authority in her voice was very perceptible.
“Alright, ma’am.” Liam chimed in his curt response and ended the call.
Sia lay in wait for the next update Liam would give but her eyes never strayed from the TV.
The way the reporters and the citizens want to know who the widow is displays just how much power she wields.
Sia likes it. It’s as if she’s a demigoddess. Never in her life did she think would be this rich much less powerful but here she is today. Blossoming and soaring in the power and wealth her husband demised to her.
Sia can’t be more grateful to Monson.
“But when will the widow make her debutante? The people would like to know who she really is.” A reporter’s question caught Sia’s attention.
She sliced her eyes back to the TV curious to know what Rebekah’s response will be.
At first, she saw Rebekah divorce her lips in a complacent grin. Then took a long sigh before spilling her response.
“Everything has time, isn’t it? We’ve seasons for everything.” She asked and the reporters nod their heads, ogling at her for clarification.
“That’s it. It’s not the widow’s time yet. When it’s her time to make the debutante we’ll inform you.”
“Good,” Sia muttered, all smiles. She clamped on her mug of coffee and took a long sip.
However, Liam’s call streamed in. She picked up and listened raptly.
“The meeting is slated by 12:00 p. m, ma’am. The CEO of Woods enterprises will be available by that time.” Liam listed.
“Thank you.” Sia’s eyes cut to the wall clock.
“11:30 a. m.” She muttered.
She sprang to her feet immediately and add finishing touches to her attire. She wore a navy blue boat neck gown. Her hair was in an updo.
She put on her necklace and clamped on her bag with the document sitting close to the bag. Then she zoomed off.
“Are you fit to start now?” Michelle’s question made Sia pause and twirl to face her toward the kitchen direction.
Michelle’s love for Sia blossomed since what occurred three weeks ago with Silas. Other servants informed her that Sia gave Silas two resounding slaps. Exactly the number of slaps Silas gave her.
Michelle already knows Sia slapped Silas because of her. Sia fought for her. She adamantly defended her and she’s grateful.
Sia sprawled her arm and curled her shoulders in a shrug.
“All fit, Michelle.” She beamed smiles at Michelle and the latter nodded her head.
“Be safe, Mrs. Monson,” Michelle murmured. Sia said no more words, spun on her heels, and zoomed off.
In matter of minutes, she was already being driven to the Wood Enterprises. However, she made to read the document more intently to understand in a deeper level the core of the proposal the Woods offered the Monson group.
When they arrived at the Woods enterprises, Sia in one swift motion scanned the area.
She dripped smiles before sauntering into the building.
“Would like to see the CEO.” Sia spilled to the receptionist who looked to be in her early twenties.
The girl dripped smiles at Sia and asked.
“Had an appointment with her?”
Sia wagged her brows in response and the girl told her to wait so she could confirm.
“Ma’am Hera is expecting you, ma’am. You can go in now.” The receptionist spewed as she returned to her table.
Sia wagged her brows again and sauntered into the office.
Hera slothfully rose to her feet the moment Sia crawled into the office. Hera turned ghastly pale, her hands faltered and her eyes bulged, threatening to pluck from their sockets.
Hera’s heartbeat tempo increased. The sight before her is shocking. It’s sending dozens of chills down her body.
“Hello, ma’am.” Sia gushed, simpering.
“He…llo.” Hera’s words came out a stutter.
“Can I?” Sia gestured to the Sia across from Hera and asked.
“Oh, please have a seat.” Hera pointed out.
However, Sia was unaware of Hera’s sudden countenance. The shock written on her face. The sweat that creased on her forehead and her wobbly hands and lips.
She was unbeknownst of them all.
“I’m from the Monson group…” Sia began an introduction but hearing the Monson group made Hera’s breath jagged.
“I saw you have an unfinished business with the Monson group. What are the potentials of this project if the Monson group is to accept this proposal.” Sia rambled on but Hera’s mind turned a mess.
Hera couldn’t school herself together. Her mind was reeling with thoughts. Thoughts that are furthest from what Sia is inciting.
“Are you okay ma’am?” She asked, snapping her fingers together to draw Hera’s mind back.
“Uh…oh…” Hera hummed, endeavoring to halt her quivering teeth.
“I need…a glass of water.” She mumbled and rose from her seat.
Sia watched her in earnest, wondering what could be the problem with Hera. Does she usually behave weird with clients?
Hera pranced to her water dispenser and spilled some water in her glass. She downed all the water, moisturizing her parch throat.
She swirled around and blurted.
“You’re from the Monson group?”
Sia found the question weird but harmless, hence she shook her head ‘yes’
Hera expelled a long breath and gravitated back to her seat. Though she had drank a full glass of water, her throat was still dry. Too dry.
“I had an unfinished business with the Monson group, yeah?” Hera spewed, gawking at Sia.
“So, I asked. What are the potentials of the project if the Monson group is to acquiesce to it?” Sia spluttered.
Hera proposed for the Monson group and the Woods Enterprises to have a fixed account that both companies will donate some funds in then in about five years’ time, those funds would be used to build a combined enterprise for both companies. This combined company’s headquarters will be stationed in England.
Hera cleared her throat and arched her brows.
“Well, I think it’ll be good to expand as partners. Also, it’ll be beneficial because we’ll get to share the revenue generated from the company.” The words left her lips in frenzy.
When Sia met her eyes her breath hitched.
“And what are your reason for choosing to station the company in England?” Sia probed further.
“I already know how companies of such run in England.” Hera gushed.
Sia pinched her jaw in thought.
“Very well then. We’ll get back to you.” She said swinging to her feet.
She clamped on her bag and beamed at Hera.
“Have a nice day.” She swirled and dashed off.
Immediately after Sia left the office, Hera speed-dialed a number in her phone.
“Raymond. I need you in my office this minute.” She dropped the call, giving the person on the other side no chance to speak.
She called on her secretary and requested a cup of hot chocolate.
Hera drummed her fingers on the table in anticipation, waiting on Raymond while drawing sips of her hot chocolate.
When her office door creaked open, she hoisted her head and let the heart-wrenching question spill from her lips.
“You knew about her?”
She bored her dark eyes at Raymond.
Raymond pared his club hat and squeezed the skin of his forehead.
“Yes.” He answered. His voice dark.
“How long?” Asked Hera.
“Four years ago.”
Hearing that Hera sprang to her feet.
“That long!?” She barked, seething.
Raymond nodded but muted.
“Your job was left undone. It was dirty. It was unfinished.” She whisper-yelled.
“I thought I finished it. Until I saw her years ago.” He blurted defiantly.
Hera cackled at his solemn defense. She swirled her head to him and spluttered.
“Tell me all you know.” She clenched her teeth, knot her fists, and narrowed her eyes.
