Sia and Estrella huddled on the bed and Estrella’s head rested on Sia’s shoulder while her hand sprawled across Sia’s stomach.
The sun rays peeked into the room and shone directly on their faces that when they both felt the heat on their skin and the casting rays on their closed eyelid, they stirred from their sleep.
Sia cracked her eyes open and was surprised by their position. She cackled and tugged Estrella’s arm from her stomach, waking her up.
“Ouch! That was hurtful.” Estrella mouthed, scratching her hair while darting her eyes around until it fell on Sia’s face.
“Did you really think I’m your fiancé?” Sia asked, brows cocked. She propped up on her elbow staring pointedly at Estrella.
“I actually thought you were him. Gosh, I’m so fucking used to sleeping with him in that position…” Estrella muttered, a smile snaking into her lips.
“Aw, that’s lovely but be more careful around me. If you try holding me again thinking it’s him…then I’m so going to chop off your hands.” Sia sneered as she trailed to the bathroom.
“Oh, sweetie I know you can’t be so mean to me. After all, I’m your bestie!” Estrella screamed.
“First of all, wash your stinking mouth. Second of all, I so going to chop your hands off if you try to hold me again.” Sia rasped from the bathroom and when Estrella heard that she brushed into a gale of laughter.
They both freshened up and plodded downstairs to have their breakfast.
Michelle served them bread and gravy and juice.
As they were eating, Liam crept outside. Sia sighted him and dropped her eyes down his hands and she could see the gauze still drenched with blood.
She cringed not tearing her eyes away from his.
“Good morning, ma’am.” He greeted and earned a head shake from Sia.
However, Estrella couldn’t hide the shock written on her face when she saw Liam. She shuffled her gaze between Sia and Liam, wondering what in the hell he’s doing here.
When her eyes drop down to his hands, she saw the wrapped wounds and had an inkling of his reason for being here.
“Hey, handsome. How are ya?” Estrella cheerfully asked and Liam nodded.
“I’m good thanks.” He hummed and made to leave but Sia called him back.
“Have a seat and eat,” Sia said.
Without another word, Liam pulled back a seat and settled on it before Sia called on the servants to serve his food.
“The doctor will come this morning to check our wounds again. So I think you should stay around for today.” Sia smattered, stuffing her food into her mouth.
“Okay, ma’am.” Was all Liam could utter.
They proceeded to eat in silence again for what felt like hours before Estrella cut through the silence with her ramble of words.
“I’ve never tasted your pool. How about we swim when done, girlfriend?”
“Swimming? I can’t swim. Can’t you see I’m in a gauze and all wounded?” Sia asked flashing her eyes at Estrella who huffed as realization dawned on her.
“Yeah…right.” She said deflated. “But I’m definitely tasting your big pool. You sit under the cabana and watch me while I swim…” She winked at Sia.
Sia shook her head at Estrella’s silliness. “Whatever!” She sneered.
When they finished eating, Estrella changed into the swimsuit Sia gave her and they both waddled to the pool. Sia sat in a chaise lounge under the cabana while Estrella dived into the pool, swimming.
“Did I tell you this pool is the biggest I’ve seen so far?” She rambled while swimming toward Sia.
Sia trailed her juice straw to her lips, chugged the juice before responding.
“No, you didn’t say that…” She smiled.
“Well then, hear that from me. This is one of the biggest pools I’ve seen so far!” She mused and dived into the water again swimming to the far end of the pool. The sun cast its rays on the pool, making its blue hue more glistening.
Estrella swum closer to Sia and stretched her hand.
“Can I have my juice please?” She asked all smiles.
“No, Estrella. That’s a hassle. You’ve got to leave the pool and take it yourself.” Sia stated, sipping her juice.
“That’s harsh…can’t you be a little sweet, Sia?” She said diving into the water again.
She stayed under the pool for some seconds before raising her head in a rush and the waters swooshed by the sudden impact. She trailed her hands through her hair and giggled. Then she dived back, swimming around and basking in the adventure.
After a while, she crept out of the pool and trailed to the cabana where Sia is. She took her towel and dried her body with it before sitting on the lounger next to Sia.
She took her juice and took several sips.
“Your assistant…the hot guy got hurt too?” She incited a conversation.
“He was the driver,” Sia whispered, looking straight into the pool.
“That must have been a horrible experience for him…” Estrella mumbled but was cut off by Sia.
“He has anxiety too. I wonder what must have been the cause of his. I think he has experienced something like that before considering the way he screamed, blurting something like…’ this is it.’ ‘That’s how it comes in my dreams…” Sia said, thoughtfully.
Estrella scrunched up her brows, “do you think he’s been in a car accident before?” she asked.
“That or a fire explosion?” Sia asked rather questioningly. “Well, I don’t know and he’s so not going to tell me. I think he’s…secretive.” She added, shrugging.
Estrella pouted, “it might not be that. Some people just don’t like telling others about their lives. And besides, you’re his boss. So of course, he’d like to maintain that boss to employee relationship.” She reasoned.
“Well, unless you want more than that. Are you interested in the guy?” She wheezed in Sia’s ear.
Sia rolled her eyes and inched her ear away from Estrella’s reach, laughing.
“I’m not a pervert as you woman. I think you’re crushing on him, Estrella. If you do…then I’m definitely reporting your ass to your fiancé.” Sia threatened, laughing.
“Ahh! Do you plan to be the bane of my existence? Oh, please don’t say that to Ethan or I’ll die…” She said playfully.
While they pressed on with their conversation, Sia’s phone rang. They dart their eyes around in search of it and Estrella found it beside her. She clutched on it and peered at the screen.
“The gym guy…” She said but Sia snatched the phone from her hastily.
“Yes, hello?” Sia mouthed rather harshly.
Estrella snatched the phone back from Sia and put it on a loudspeaker mode.
“Hey, pretty chick. How are ya?” Jake’s voice reverberated, making Estrella shocked.
Sia bored her eyes at Estrella and made to snatch the phone back but Estrella refused.
“Why did you call?” Sia asked.
“Oh, girl don’t be so mean…you’ll scare him away.” Estrella mouthed, earning a glare from Sia.
“I didn’t see you at the gym today. So I wanted to know why?” Came Jake’s voice.
“Are you my keeper now?” Sia replied with a question.
“Will you come tomorrow?” Jake replied with a question.
“How’s that your business?” Sia asked, making Estrella chuckle.
“Why are you being mean?” Jake asked. However, you could hear the faint chuckle escaping his lips.
“And how does that affect you?” Sia asked again.
“Are you crazy girl?” Estrella mouthed, listening to their questioning competition.
“I see you love battle of words or should I say battle of question. Pretty chick I’m so good in it. I don’t know if you are. You want to indulge in this battle?” Jake asked.
“Whatever!” Sia sneered with an eye roll.
Estrella shook her head, disappointed.
“I just uh…wanted to know how ya doing,” Jake whispered into the phone.
“Good Samaritan. You did well and I’m pretty cool.” Sia spluttered.
“Okay, I’m hoping to see ya tomorrow. Bye!” He said lastly before hanging up the call.
Estrella didn’t wait for a second to pass before breaking into laughter, clutching onto her stomach.
“What was that, Sia?” she asked, still laughing.
“Battle of words…or should I say battle of questions.” Sia replied mimicking Jake’s words.
They both laughed again, uncontrollably.
“Now that’s weird.” Said Estrella, gripping her juice and swigging it.
“I know. The dude is something else .” Sia gushed.
“You guys met in the gym?”
“Yeah, yeah…” Sia hummed. “He deceived me and took my number.” She added.
“I guess he likes you and wants…you know.” Estrella rambled and Sia glared at her.
“No…don’t start…” Sia said but was interrupted by another voice from behind her.
“Hello love…” the voice streamed.
Sia paused and Estrella looked behind Sia, cringing at the sight of the man behind Sia.
“Silas,” Sia called.
