“I’m definitely going to make you mine, Sia.” Silas whispered inwardly, nipping his lips he ogled at Sia.
Studying every curve and dot on her body. The smirk on her face allures him. The softness of her scent makes his throat water, the way her eyes blinks arouses him, and the move of her lips, when she talks, sends shivers down his spine.
Everything about Sia allures him and he can’t wait to subdue her and make her his.
However, Silas’s mother noticed how he was drooling over Sia and confirmed her suspicions.
She knows what others don’t know. Silas is obsessed with Sia and she’ll use it to her advantage.
“I wonder why you all are staring at me like buffoons.” Sia snapped, pulling out the head seat of the oblong table they sat on.
“Can’t y’all be a little mature and stare like wise people do? And again respond to someone’s greeting?” She said as she sank into the chair.
‘Confidence! Confidence! Confidence!’ she screamed inside her.
However, Liam stood aside and peered at everyone’s faces. When his eyes landed on Silas, Liam remembered his face.
‘The guy that left her office that day Mrs. Monson was angry. So he’s her enemy? I see.’ He thought.
Everyone was seething seeing Sia’s confidence. Sia deliberately sat on the head chair to further prove her point.
“You are not qualified to stay in that seat, Sia!” She heard Silas’s mother bark.
Sia plodded her eyes in her direction and curled up her brows in contempt.
“And why not?” She asked, staring pointedly at her.
Silas’s mother banged her fist on the table. She wanted to stand up but her condition hampers her, so she just leaned forward boring her eyes at Sia.
“That seat is only meant for the right ruler of the Monson family to sit on…”
She wasn’t able to finish her sentence and Sia cut her off.
“And what do you think I am?” Sia asked brows cocked, eyes narrowed.
“You’re nothing but a whore and a witch.” Silas’s mother glowered.
All the elders there silently watched what was transpiring while waiting for elder James to come out because he’s the main person that has the power to silence them.
“Now that’s where you’re wrong, Mrs. Monson. I am the new ruler of this family. No one else.” Sia said, grinning as she relapsed her back on the seat, legs crossed on her knees.
“You think this confidence will last, huh? It won’t and trust me, you’ll soon beg…for mercy and for money ’cause you’ll be thrown out in the streets where you belong, whore!” Silas’s mom hissed again, making Sia laugh.
“So absurd. How pathetic. I’d have pardoned you because of your pathetic condition but your bad mouth is making me build a wall in my chest.” Sia stated. “Watch your mouth, if you don’t want to be thrown on the street.” She clicked her tongue.
All the while Silas remained calm, watching Sia. Drooling over her as he feels his cock hardening beneath his pants.
When his eyes trailed to Liam who no one had noticed at first glance, Silas cleared his throat and said to Liam.
“Who are you?”
Liam locked eyes with him as he responded, “I’m with the widow.”
Silas glared at him. The respect all the workers in the Monson group and villa accord Sia annoys him to the core.
He hates it because he feels it should be given to him and not Sia.
“Out.” Silas ordered, eyes bloodshot. He already knows Liam is here just so he can protect Sia and Silas doesn’t want that.
Liam looked to Sia to see if she’ll accede but her response not only shocked him but everyone else in the chamber.
“He stays on my command.” She hurled. Then she turned around and ordered Liam. “Come and have a seat.”
‘Omigod.’ Liam croaked.
He shuffled toward the table and sat on the empty seat by Sia’s right.
Everyone was shell-shocked seeing this. Never has it occurred in the family. This further proves that Sia will be a pain in their throats.
Silas’s mother itch to eradicate her while Silas wishes to confiscate the property and make her his.
“Let the meeting begin!” They heard elder James’ voice and their heads turn in the direction of his footfall.
Elder James walked toward them in his glory, donning his usual attire of a black Armani suit. His grey hair glistened and his stubble was neatly combed and carved.
He stopped by the empty seat by Sia’s left and perched his hands on it, leaning forward.
“Good morning everyone.” His voice boomed, exuding authority and power.
Everybody inclined their heads in a nod. Before James veered his eyes to Sia.
“I believe you know the essence of this meeting?” He questioned Sia who shrugged.
“Not at all.” She said with authority.
Strong…be strong. These words kept roving Sia’s mind.
“Don’t show them you are weak even if you’re. Rather show them you now wield the powers of the Monson family.”
Michelle’s words stroke Sia’s mind. She pursed her lips and listened raptly.
Elder James started circling the table as he spoke.
“It was brought to my notice that you jinxed Mr. Monson. A statement which has an atom of truth, is it not, Mrs. Monson?” He asked, peering at Sia.
“What is your proof that I jinxed my husband, if I may ask?” She threw a question back at him.
Well, that’s what anyone in this room has no power to do except the ruler of the family.
During meetings like this, once James throws someone a question it is expected they replied quickly and not reply with a question.
Elder James exhales with a grin playing on his lips.
“The proof is that your husband demised all powers and property to you which in actual sense he wouldn’t have done. And that leaves us to think you jinxed him, Mrs. Monson.”
“A jinx?” Sia smirked, tucking her hair strand behind her ear. “If you write your Will and choose to demise your property to your wife, will you tag it that she jinxed you?” Sia asked again, breaking yet another rule.
Everyone gasped, and Silas began brewing with rage, knowing that Sia is exhibiting so much power and authority before them.
James strode to her back, nestled his hands on the chair, and responded, “I won’t call it a jinx because it’s my decision.”
Hearing that, Sia brushed into a gale of laughter. She stood up and began circling the table like elder James.
Liam was inwardly admiring her boldness. He concluded that he and Sia have some similarities. Boldness and smartness.
She gives the correct answer or question to every question thrown at her.
Rare demeanor people possess.
“That’s the point.” She snapped her fingers. “You won’t call it a jinx because it’s your decision and that’s the exact way my husband relinquished all his property and power to me, willingly. Now, tell me, how is that a jinx?” she spluttered, journeying her eyes on their faces.
However, other elders in the chambers began whispering among themselves and Sia can’t lay a finger on what they are saying.
“Mrs. Monson, there’s a custom we adhere to in this family and your husband was well aware of that. He couldn’t have willingly done that which leaves us no option but to suspect you.” Said, James.
Sia went back to her seat and settled on it, huffing.
She crossed her legs on her knees and rested her right elbow on her kneecap while supporting her chin with her balled fist.
“My husband must have figured no one is qualified to rule the family and he relinquished everything to me. The power, the money.
“That’s impossible!” Silas barked, slamming his fist on the table in a fit of rage.
“Oh, yes, it’s possible and it’s true.” Sia gushed.
Silas tried to lunge toward her but was restrained by the elders.
“Don’t trigger my button, Sia…” He warmed trying to break free from their hold.
However, Liam instinctively placed his hand on Sia’s balled fist as if reassuring her that he won’t let Silas lay a finger on her.
Feeling the warmth and the smoothness of Liam’s palms on her knuckles, Sia felt a sense of déjà vu.
‘Years ago. Years ago. He held me like this before he left. He did. It was a reassurance that he’ll come back but never did.’ She thought inwardly and stole a glance at Liam.
The images of him flashing through her mind is blurry.
“She’s not supposed to wield the power of this family!” Silas roared and his mother supported his notion.
“Sit down!” James’ voice reverberated.
Silas gently sat back down on his seat, glowering at Sia.
She automatically insulted him by saying no one is qualified to rule the family.
Silas ran his hands on his cheeks, chin, and hair, raging inwardly.
“Mrs. Monson,” James called and turned back to face Sia.
“We have a custom and we must adhere to it…” Sia instantly cut him off by slamming her hands on the table, standing up.
“And that custom was broken by my own husband, Mr. Monson. And that makes me the new ruler of the Monson family.” She spouted.
Facing James, eyeball to eyeball, she sneered. “I trust some people must have paid you to do this but let me remind you. I possess the powers now and no one, not even you can stop me.”
“If you say I jinxed your brother, my husband. You have to provide proof because he did all he did for me. For our love for each other.”
“I rest my case here.” She hurled.
Sia clutched her bag and beckoned Liam for them to leave.
Sia walking away during the meeting is another proof, she understands how much power she wields more than her late husband who blindly cowered at the threats of the elders for peace to reign.
She’s the one in charge now and everyone must obey her.
As she was about to plod outside, she heard Silas’s words.
“This is war! You’re calling for war. And I’ll prove to you I have evidence of I what I said. Just get ready.” He spouted.
“I’m ready for you, Silas Monson.” She said and exited the room.
