Come back

I opened my eyes. I can hear the sound of the Hostel Machine. The light centered on me hit my eye. White walls and the noisy aircon. There was a hand holding my dextrose hand as he bent down to sit asleep. He still didn’t notice that I was awake.
“How many days have I slept?” I don’t know if the prescribed dextrose affects me, but I feel like my brain is still not coming back to normal. I stared at Hugo’s bowed head for a long time before what happened sank into me.
I yanked the dextrose that was inserted into my nerves. I cried out in pain. I saw blood rising from the hose. As the iron hospital bed shook, Hugo stood up as if surprised by what was happening. I was wearing hospital clothes as I quickly stood up.
When I got to the door, Hugo noticed me. I looked at him with swelling eyes. “My baby.” That’s all I said. I was afraid of what he would answer. He was silent and looked at me pitifully. My eyes widened because I knew the expression was like that. That was the expression Aunt Julia showed when she said my sister was confirmed dead.
“No. No.” I stepped back. No. Yes, and I’m not ready yet, but I can’t afford to lose the baby in my womb. I know I haven’t seen him/her yet, but I see him/her in my future. I didn’t want to hear what he had to say, so I was about to run out when the door opened and he spoke.
“Calm down Adele.” He kept me from going out, but I covered my ears. I don’t want to hear what he has to say! I don’t want to hear anything from him!
I looked at the man who entered the door and saw it was the doctor. I removed my hands from my ears, then went to the doctor. My legs were still weak, so I held on to the wall while facing the doctor and asking him questions.
“What happened to my baby?” My voice is full of hope. If something happens to my baby, I will never forgive them! I will hate them all until I die! I held the doctor’s hand, but he just sighed.
“First, for your peace of mind. Your baby is fine, there are only problems so I’m not sure if he/she will be okay until your he/she is delivered. Second, sit down first so I can explain it to you properly. It will be more for your baby if you act rashly. ”
Because of what he said, I was relieved. The stone ran down my chest, then I looked at Hugo with tired eyes. “Then why do you look like that?”
“I haven’t said anything yet. I want the doctor to tell you. I don’t want your health to get worse because I delivered the wrong words. ” He walked over to me and placed his hand on my back to support my walk.
“First of all, congratulations Ms. Adele and you are pregnant. However, the child may not stick to you very well. If you continue like that, the day you give birth, one of you may lose. There is a big possibility that you are and there is also a big possibility that he/she will. 50/50. All I can advise now is, have an abortion. But the decision is up to you. If you still want to continue, I can give you medicines to make the child cling, but it only has a 5% chance of being successful.” The doctor’s long explanation to me.
Hugo made me sit on the bed while I was stunned. The doctor wrote something on his paper and then gave it to Hugo. He raised the eyeglasses he was wearing, then spoke again. “That is the name of the doctor who can help you in case you want to have an abortion. So far, there are no other abnormalities that occur other than the child’s unstable fit. I will also prescribe you medicine so that you can work immediately. Right now, that’s why you are still weak due to the effects of the drug. There are things you won’t remember after this.”
The doctor said goodbye to us while Hugo and I fell silent. I think about what he said and remember what happened and why we are like this. My teeth chattered in anger at Soleil. My head is burning with anger because of what she did. Because of that plastic girl, why my baby and I are like this!
I had planned to tell Aunt Julia about Soleil, but I knew it would only get more complicated if I said more. It would be better if I just talked to her so that we could have clarity as well.
I was just about to find my phone to call Aunt Julia and say I wanted to meet Soleil when the door suddenly opened. Aunt Julia, Mommy Helena, and the woman I wanted to hate came in. Mommy Helena ran towards me while Aunt Julia was behind her. They both look worried, but I don’t seem to be in the mood to talk. I think they will understand.
I saw Soleil stand next to Randall, so I looked at Aunt Helena and Aunt Julia before speaking. I smiled, but that smile seemed blank. I adjusted my seating. I lifted both my feet on the bed, then leaned on the steel of the hospital bed. I looked at Hugo, who was looking at me and at Soleil, who was still chatting with Hugo while she was wearing her hijab.
“I would like to talk to Soleil. I just had some questions. I wish it was just the two of us. The questions I have are important.” I didn’t look at them and looked straight at Soleil. They immediately got what I wanted to convey, so mommy Helena spoke.
“Oh! In that case, we will go out first.” They immediately followed until only Soleil was left. I haven’t even started what I want to say she preceded me.
“I want to go back to where I belong.”
