“Celine, I’ll leave Randle here. He doesn’t cry often. Tell him I’m only doing something in case he wakes up.” Randle was asleep. I looked at the time in my hand and saw that it was past 6 PM. I’ll let Charlotte wait there. She’s the one who needs me.
I grabbed my bag. Celine just nodded in response. I’ve already eaten here so I don’t have to eat at the restaurant where we’re going to meet. I just hope we finish easily because I can’t swallow and eat in front of the table opposite her.
I only took a taxi because I hadn’t bought my car yet. I only used Randall’s cars everywhere I went back then. Since it’s not traffic, I think I’ll get there quickly.
I looked at my phone when I got in the taxi. Alex never texted again or called me. I didn’t bother him either about his apology to me without saying why. I arrived at the Hightown restaurant at exactly 7 PM already. As soon as I entered, I immediately looked for Charlotte’s spot and saw that she was still waiting quietly. She looked around at the time and it was super satisfying to see her waiting. I hope it’s always like that. That kind of stupid face will wait.
She was not surprised when I sat in front of her. I didn’t let go of my bag because I thought I would only be here for a short while. She smiled at me and I couldn’t explain how much I wanted to punch that face. I just hope that one day she will have a fight with someone and suddenly they’d spray acid in her face. I know what I’m thinking is too bad, but I can’t help but think badly when Charlotte is in front of me.
“Say what you want to say because I don’t want to stay at the same table with you for long.” I held my bag tightly as I became restless. I just sat down, but I want to leave immediately.
A server approached us and gave us the menu, but I didn’t take it so he just laid it on my side while Charlotte scanned the order. I clenched my fist and then hit it hard on the table. The glass with only water fell and the server rapidly caught it. Charlotte dropped the menu, then looked sharply at me for what I had done. She returned the menu to the server, then pointed to her order. The server left and Charlotte confronted me.
“Why are you in a hurry? Don’t you want to talk to me in-depth?” She raised her eyebrow, which made me even more annoyed. Isn’t she able to do anything but pick a fight with me? “Don’t worry, I’ll tell you immediately.” She was rummaging through her bag that was sitting on the other chair. After, she placed a flash drive in front of me.
“I can’t show you the picture if we’re here.” She was just looking at the flash drive while talking. I glanced at the black and small flash drive in front of me.
“You should have taken me where no one is so that I can only see you once. In your actions you probably have plans to meet me for the second time.” I took the flash drive and put it in my bag. I would have stood up when she stopped me using only her words.
“Do you know what’s on that flash drive and why I’m giving you that?” I got back in my seat and she leaned back in the chair as she crossed her legs. My jaw tightened. Why doesn’t she just tell me everything now?
“Divorce Randall. Persuade him to divorce you and sign the papers. ”
Now I have a sharp stare at her. I teased her to show that I had no intention of doing that, but she laughed out loud so everyone looked at us. I think this woman is crazy.
“Can you still say that when you know what’s on that flash drive?” She stopped laughing, then leaned her body on the table while her hands were still on her crossed legs. “I will give you two weeks. If you don’t do that, not only Turkey will know the contents of that.”
I didn’t listen to her anymore and stood up. Before I could take a step, she spoke again that I did not know what she meant. “Oh! One more thing, don’t trust those around you too much. It’s a pity because they blinded you so much when you have an amnesia, those around you are blinding you again now. Well, they say … History repeats itself.”
I didn’t let her stop me from leaving and went straight away. I never thought that Charlotte’s being obsessed would go beyond the meaning of the word obsessed. Her feelings had become poisonous to her.
When I got home, I met Archer. I stopped in front of him, then looked at him. When he looked back at me, I hit his arm. My night was so ruined, I didn’t want him to ruin it even more. Good and he wasn’t mad with what I did because he let me climb from stairs.
When I got to the bedroom, I saw Celine sleeping well next to Randle. Maybe my son woke up. I put down my bag, then picked up the flash drive. I’ll just watch it tomorrow. I don’t want to wake up Celine to ask if there’s a laptop that’s not being used. Maybe she was tired because of my son.
When I took out the flash drive, I saw I could plug it into the phone. This is an OTG flash drive. I immediately removed the cover and took my phone. When I plugged it into my phone, the file manager came out immediately so I didn’t have any trouble.
There are two folders there. One is [Videos] while the other is [Pictures].
I first clicked on the video. At first, I could only watch in the dark so I fast-forward it, but I quickly covered my mouth with what I saw in the middle because there were two people naked. I immediately backed that because the growl of people echoed in the video.
My chest tightens again. I almost buried it in oblivion, but it comes back to me. I thought had long been erased from my memory. If there’s anything I want to erase, it’s that memory.
I finally threw away my phone when I saw the picture.
