Chapter 36 : He only belongs to Gina

Just burying his head very low, his eyes dropping to the tips of his shoes that were stained with a bit of dirt, Gina clenched his lower lip without saying a word.
Seeing this look on the woman, Aaron panicked a little. The hand that grabbed her shoulder blade unconsciously increased its strength, and his gaze was filled with disbelief.
The man’s breathing became rapid and his voice was a little husky as he asked in a low cross-examination, “So, was last night’s lovemaking a lie, and was your claim that you couldn’t leave me a lie.”
The raw pain of his shoulder being imprisoned by his palm, is no longer able to bear the deep hidden words in his heart, Gina raised his head and could no longer hold back the tears playing in the corners of his eyes.
She was about to collapse, she no longer cared about the image of the teacher, her teary eyes hazily looked over and questioned the man she loved the most and hurt the most in a sad and desolate tone, “Aaron, I ask you. Is my child that you aborted fake, is it fake that you let me sleep with other men, is it fake that my mother died because of your foolishness.”
“Aaron, you’re simply, just a selfish bastard.” Speaking out all these words hidden in her heart, the woman’s voice trembled violently nearly breaking. The disappointment and resentment in her eyes weren’t faked, they were as real as the surprise and leap she had made when she saw herself yesterday.
One by one, she wrenched away the man’s ten fingers clamped on his shoulders, and the transmission of her cold fingers through her skin made Aaron feel cold. And that look of determination in her eyes made the man stand mutely in place, unable to make the next reflection, or to stay.
Like a butterfly that can’t be grasped, Gina just fluttered around in front of the man like that, her coat flying, but she couldn’t reach out and grab it.
Silently watching the woman’s departing back, Aaron stood in place and clenched his hands into fists, his nails sinking deep into the flesh, his two rows of teeth clenched together almost to shatter. But it was such physical pain that could not compare to the torment and pain he felt inside.
Turns out she … still can’t let go of that past.
At this thought that popped up, Aaron hated to slap himself. How could he pray for her to forgive him so simply for all the bastard things he had done?
Slowly closing his eyes, the man pursed his lips tightly. Having already made her hurt so much, he couldn’t let go of her hand even more because of it.
He would always whisk her away, always keep chasing her forward, by whatever means, north or south of the earth.
It had been so long since he’d missed out, had done so much wrong, that letting go again was impossible for him.
Even if he had to spend his whole life to atone for his sins, he would have no complaints. –His life, anyway, belonged to Gina alone.
It had been a while since Aaron had appeared directly in front of Gina.
But Gina knew that he hadn’t left. There were flowers he folded every day on the corner of the table, and inexplicable small gifts always appeared at the door of the room. Although it was not much expensive, but all of them were mentioned by her with the man with an envious expression, everything topped in her heart.
Other than that, he’s done dozens of times more than that.
In this closed and backward place, textbooks and hardware simply could not keep up, and Gina also spent many nights, staying up all night because he was worried about this. By coincidence, a pickup truck pulled a truck full of books and sports equipment and said it would be donated to this place, and the donor was a kind-hearted person who refused to reveal his name. Gina prayed and pressed again and again before he got the address slip filled out by the donor.
The font on it was angular – and one she was all too familiar with.
Or, the small river that connected the village from east to west, the wooden bridge over it was completely broken. Many children were tripping through the water to school every day, and their pants were wet up to their knees, always causing Gina a pang of heartache.
And recently, no more children in the class came to school in wet pants. They gathered happily around Gina, chattering like little birds, and told her that a kind man had built a new bridge over the river, as imposing as it was written in the books.
Or, the gym class that had been giving Gina a headache had recently been completely taken over by a tall man. Raising his arm and pressing his wrist on a jump shot, the basketball slammed into the basket with a perfect arc. Amidst the cheers of the children, the man smiled a gentle, smug smile that was dazzlingly good-looking.
Not on a whim, Aaron will do these things consistently, and do not ask for reward, not the slightest see the old raging nature to swallow all the complaints.
It wasn’t that Gina didn’t understand who he was doing all of this for.
