Chapter 26 : Finally getting what you want, congratulations

Gina, who was already the general manager of a department of Bill Group, instructed the public relations department to release the news that Aaron and Anthony were both interested in that piece of land in the Economic Development Zone of Atlanta.
When he learned that more and more companies intended to participate in the auction for the land acquisition, Aaron was sitting on the boss chair with a high backrest with his back to the secretary, the floor-to-ceiling skylight mapped out his expression not very clear.
The look in the man’s eyes grew colder and colder, like a king of ice that scorned everything. He himself would not back down in such a place, and the price they gave, he would surely press on step by step.
This is a plot of land that he is bound to win.
Outside the head banquet hall of a hotel in Atlanta, Aaron and Arthur showed their invitations to the security guard and walked in.
The host in front of the auction stage was dressed in a suit and had a duty smile on his face: “The reserve price is 20 million, the bidding will now begin.”
The bidding at the beginning Aaron did not bother to participate, it was enough for him to give the highest price after no one had bid.
The bidding on stage had reached a small crescendo, with many companies scrambling to be the first to bid with the idea of putting up a fight. The auction price had changed from the initial reserve price to fifty million.
His eyes half narrowed into slits, Aaron nodded to the man beside him, and Arthur raised his bidding card and spoke slowly: “Sixty million.”
There was a low gasp from the floor, this Pittman Group was too generous, raising the price by 10 million at once.
Before the room could quit down again, another voice took on a slightly playful tone: “Seventy million.”
Anthony’s tone of voice made Aaron irritated, his competitive mind was completely hooked up at once, pulled Arthur to indicate him to lean over, over his ear gritted his teeth and ordered, “Continue with the offer, absolutely cannot lose.”
Arthur raised his offer card again and called out aloud, “Eighty million.”
“Ninety million.” Seemingly barred just like that, that side gently quoted a higher price.
All the other companies in the venue were silent, their eyes flashing with vague excitement as they watched the bidding contest between the two companies, Pittman Group and Bill Group.
Almost popping two words out of his teeth, Aaron gripped the armrests with both hands, his eyes red as he looked towards the platform, “Add more.”
Vaguely feeling that this price was already higher than the value of the land, Arthur continued his offer with concern: “One hundred million.”
And Gina, who was sitting in a private room on the second floor, was watching all this with cold eyes, his fingertips brushing against his smooth little belly, his lips curving up in a mocking arc.
Two billion, that’s the final sale price of the land.
When Arthur quoted this price, Anthony, who had been biting behind him, suddenly stopped bidding and only extended his hand in an inviting gesture, a polite and smug smile at the corner of his lips.
“Congratulations to Mr. Aaron for bidding two billion dollars for this plot of land in the Economic Development Zone of Atlanta!”
The congratulatory words fell on Aaron’s ears but it was like sarcasm, restraining himself from the urge to punch Anthony’s nose flat, the man’s teeth clenched.
The people at the bottom of the room who didn’t even dare to speak out just now slowed down and lowered their heads and ears to discuss the scene just now, lamenting that Pittman Group was really big.
Until the end of the auction, Aaron, who had a shadowy and obscure expression on his face, was still sitting in his seat with his arms around him.
“Mr. Pittman, congratulations. Such a good piece of land has been snatched by you; you have to develop it properly.” Anthony’s hateful voice came from the side of his ear, and such false congratulations provoked the man’s anger to intensify.
Twisting his head and sweeping his unkind gaze over, Aaron froze for a moment.
There was a woman standing beside Anthony.
It’s none other than Gina who has disappeared!
Seemingly satisfied with his current hideous look, Gina’s eyes and eyebrows were all light and happy. With a slight nod as a sign of courtesy, the woman spoke with a calm demeanor: “Mr. Pittman has always wanted this piece of land, and today he finally got what he wanted, congratulations.”
Not yet slowed from her shock, shaking her head incredulously, her lips trembling but unable to spit out the words.
“Since that’s the case, then we, Mr. Bill, will retreat and charter the piece of land in the village at the back of C University.” Ignoring the man’s reaction, Gina’s face was not the least bit abnormal, and the words he uttered were well thought out and decent.
Fearing that he had forgotten, the woman continued to speak and added: “Mr. Pittman has not forgotten, right? It was when I went to college that Mr. Pittman and I went there.”
