Gina was lying on his back on a hospital bed, with flowers and fruits beside the bed, and the state-of-the-art brainwave detector from Germany beating smoothly and fluctuating next to him.
It’s a VIP room in the best hospital in Atlanta.
The door of the ward opened with a sound and Anthony walked in with a clean apple in his hand.
“The doctor said that in another week you can be discharged from the hospital.” Pulling out a stool and sitting beside the woman, Anthony’s lips tinged with some smiles, so long of treatment had finally made her deficient body improve.
“Then, I really thank Mr. Bill for taking care of me these days.” It had been more than a month since he received treatment in the hospital, and Gina’s originally pale and thin cheeks had regained their normal blood color.
To the woman’s still distant address, Anthony helplessly shook his head, then took the bedside remote control and pressed on the TV: “Don’t just lie there, watch TV to relieve your mood.”
A white light flashed and a man appeared on the TV, kneeling on one knee with a gentle and doting smile on his face. The man took the hand of the girl in front of him and was slipping a crystal-clear diamond ring onto her slender ring finger.
When the man and woman slowly turned their faces to the camera, Gina let out a scream of horror with wide eyes – the people on the TV were no other than Aaron and Delilah!
Continuing to let out a shrill scream, Gina slammed the bedside object onto the floor in a frenzy.
She fussed and cried and wanted to go settle accounts with Aaron. Anthony held her tightly in his arms and clamped down hard on the woman’s kicking and scratching hands and feet.
At a look from the man, the medical staff behind him pushed the sedative from the syringe into the back of Gina’s neck.
Unable to control her eyelids becoming heavy, Gina drifted off to sleep.
Disorientation seemed to come to a place where a dark curtain wrapped around her dreams, and she looked around for no place to go.
” Gina…” From a distance came an old calling voice, causing Gina to jerk her head up. –That was mom’s voice!
Propping herself up on the ground, she stumbled around looking for the source of the sound, she was desperate to see, in the depths of her consciousness, her mother who had passed away.
Just two steps away, seemingly from the other side of the voice from earlier, another childish voice rang out, “Mom … where are you, why don’t mommy and daddy want me …”
Covering her cheeks in panic, Gina’s heart pounded. She had a feeling in the back of her mind that this voice, came from the child she had cruelly aborted by Aaron before it was born.
“I’ve come for you…” “Mom I’m coming over…” the old and childish voices overlapped, back and forth like waves intertwining and rushing, wrapping her entire being layer by layer.
Sitting up violently, Gina, who had woken up from her dream, rubbed her chest and gasped for air, resting her head on her knees as tears scrambled out of her eyes.
All of this is thanks to Aaron!
Gina looked up to the dark ceiling as she pursed her lower lip in dark determination.
Aaron, I will never let you get away with this.
When Anthony came to the ward the next morning and smiled at him soothingly, Gina was the first to speak, “I was the one who got too excited yesterday, I won’t be again.”
There was a worried look between his eyebrows, Anthony stepped forward to cover her palm, his words were inseparable worry: “Is it really all right? Don’t hold on to what you have in your heart.”
Shaking her head good-naturedly, Gina’s body seemed to have retreated from the weakness of the past, and instead turned into detachment and coolness. After a moment of contemplation, she slowly opened her mouth and prayed, “Can Mr. Bill help me with one thing?”
“Please help me hide the fact that I’m not dead.”
Hearing these words, Anthony opened his mouth slightly out of surprise. Why would … have such a request.
But seeing the determined look in her eyes, the man swallowed the questioning words in his mouth.
Since she had made the request, it was bound to be a consequence of deep consideration. Anthony frowned and nodded slightly, still protruding one word from between his lips, “Good.”
