The river rolled by in waves, Aaron stood at the riverside, palms on the railing eyes locked on the river.
About a quarter of an hour later, shaking his head and slowly sighing out, the man resolutely turned around and walked towards the minivan, he still had to quickly go back to appease the frightened Delilah.
There were two people in the car when they came. And when they returned, only Aaron was left in the car.
After Arthur sent Gina home, he waited downstairs, but he only saw Aaron’s car going in and out, not Gina’s figure.
Where did Aaron take that woman?
Anxiously twisting the car keys to turn on the car, the man drove the car and headed for the hospital. While waiting for the red light, he finally got impatient and dialed Delilah’s number with his fingers: “Hello? Sister, do you know where Gina and Aaron have gone?”
“That little bitch? Jumped in the river to die.”
Jumping into the river? What Delilah was rambling on about in the back, Arthur didn’t even hear. Only this word burst into his mind, leaving one in a state of panic and trance.
Letting out a beastly hiss, he jerked the steering wheel and turned his head towards Aaron’s house.
“Aaron, what the fuck did you do,” Arthur, whose eyes were red like a beast, frantically pounded his fists against Aaron’s door, and hissed and questioned, “Why would Gina jump into the river, why!”
Perhaps it was because Arthur was Delilah’s brother, perhaps the clash of fists against the door was too noisy, Aaron held impatience between his brows as he opened the door and leaned against the door frame with his arms.
“She was going to jump on her own and I simply didn’t have time to wrangle her.” Giving the briefest of explanations, the man wrinkled his nose to omit the crux of the matter.
“This kind of woman… “Aaron continued to open his lips, intending to inform him about Gina’s framing that caused his sister to miscarry. It would be a dilemma, right… Remembering the intricate relationship, Aaron closed his mouth, and after a brief pause, he turned his words to advise, “In short, that woman is not worthy of such treatment.”
With his ten fingers clenched into fists, Arthur grew angrier and angrier as he listened to his words. Not worth it, not worth it! That woman deserved all the good things in the world.
He’s the one who doesn’t deserve such a wonderful woman!
Asking further would lead nowhere, only to hear the most vicious comments from his mouth. Arthur twisted his head to leave Aaron’s doorstep and restarted his car to look for Gina’s trail.
How easy it is to find someone, it’s like they’ve evaporated. For three days and three nights Arthur had not slept, used all the means around him to get connections, and still – nothing.
It was night, and Arthur was sitting alone by the guardrail where Gina had jumped into the river, his fingers pressed against his scalp and thrust into his hair, his gaze locked on the river without moving.
“Hey!” It was half a day before he spoke to the Huangpu River, the river breeze draping around and blowing the man’s hair, “You have a good time over there, there should be no beasts threatening you there.”
The words tumbled between his lips and teeth, Arthur pulled out a pile of paper money from his briefcase, and pulled out a lighter from his jacket pocket. The company’s main business is to provide a wide range of products and services to the public.
“Anything else you need, be sure to be sure to let me know.” The days of searching had left Arthur with stubble on his chin and bloated bruises under his eyes. But he had a smile on his face, a bitter smile.
The footsteps of a group of people rang out behind him, Arthur ‘s expression did not change as he continued to light the paper money before raising it out, “I’m not going back.”
” Arthur, don’t grieve for that unworthy woman.” The voice of the high heels belonged to Delilah, his sister, the indirect murderer who killed Gina. Clenching his teeth in hatred, Delilah stepped forward a few steps to put a hand on Arthur ‘s shoulder, “Be obedient, go back with sister.”
“I said I’m not going back!” Throwing his shoulders with force and shaking off Delilah’s hand on his shoulder, Arthur looked obstinate and determined, “Sister, you killed Gina. Can’t I even pay my respects to her.”
Startled by the vacant stare of the brother she grew up with, Delilah was already a little annoyed, waving her hand to signal the men behind her to come forward and drag Arthur to the car, “You’re just obsessed by that woman, what’s so good about her! She’s just a bitch!”
Separately struggling but unable to break free from the restraints of the large man at his side, Arthur pulled his neck and yelled at the woman, the veins on his neck bursting from over exertion, “You killed her! You killed her!!!”
Delilah rubbed her temples; her slender fingers were white and nice. Raising her eyes to glance at his crazy look, the woman took off her pretense of following the rules, squeezed out words from between her teeth, pointed at the man’s nose and ordered with hatred.
” Arthur, I am your sister, you must listen to me.”
“From now on, you are not allowed to think about that woman!!!”
