In an old apartment.
Hearing the cursing words, neighbors were confused and opened their door to find out what happened. They heard Linda and Sophia, her daughter-in-law, were having a row again.
In the apartment, Linda was so angry that she smashed a bowl and glared at Sophia when she heard that Kathleen had fled after the murder.
“Think of the bastard you gave birth to! How dare she stab one of the Marshalls! Had she lost her mind?”
Hearing Linda’s scolding, Sophia replied, “It must be because that those people tried to hurt my Kathleen first. Otherwise, how could my Kathleen possibly kill someone with no reason?”
Sophia thought of things that happened a few days ago. When she joyfully returned to the ward with wontons and didn’t find Kathleen. She thought that Kathleen must have gone for an examination.
However, Kathleen didn’t come back that night. And when she went to visit Kathleen again, two policemen stopped her and brought her back to the police office.
A policeman told her that her daughter Kathleen had murdered someone and was on the run now. As Kathleen’s mother, she needed to answer questions.
Sophia’s mind went blank. She did not believe that her daughter would kill someone.
“How is that possible? My Kathleen is so kind. How could she kill someone? There must be some misunderstandings.”
The police explained that there were many people who witnessed that Kathleen crazily stabbed Tom Marshall, the young master of the Marshalls with a fruit knife.
Everyone was stunned when they saw Kathleen stab him, and the next thing they could think of was to help Tom Marshall. When they tried to catch Kathleen, she had already run away.
The Marshalls had already sent people to look for Kathleen, but hadn’t found her yet. Now, they could only closely watch her family see if she ever contacted them.
Therefore, Sophia was taken to the police office to be investigated. They wanted to know the places Kathleen usually went and the friends she had.
After the policeman explain everything, Sophia still refused to believe it, crying and arguing that her daughter was pregnant and it was impossible for her to kill someone.
Sophia cried miserably, but the policemen didn’t have sympathy for her. They still harshly asked her to find Kathleen quickly.
The policeman told coldly Sophia that Kathleen had attempted to murder but failed. She was pregnant, so it would be easy for her to reach a plea bargain if she confessed now.
Sophia cried and could not answer. She had no idea where Kathleen was now. How could she make Kathleen confess?
Back to the old apartment, she told Linda the whole thing. Linda didn’t have any sympathy, instead, she cursed Kathleen for doing this.
Sophia couldn’t tolerate that her darling daughter’s name was called, and had a fight with Linda.
“Kathleen is your granddaughter!” Sophia rebuked.
“If she is still my granddaughter, she’d never done that. How dare she try to kill someone? This kind of black sheep should never come back and die outside!”
Linda was ruthless.
Last time, Kathleen said that if she was not obedient, Linda could throw her out of the apartment. It’s lucky that Linda didn’t dare to kill anyone, otherwise, she would kill Kathleen with her own hand.
With tears flowing down her pale face, Sophia glared at Linda.
Rose, who was sitting aside to watch this show, was very annoyed when the two women were about to fight.
“Alright, you’re so annoying. Kathleen must pay for what she had done, trying to kill one of the Marshalls. You’d better think of a place to hide her.”
Sophia gasped for breath. When she heard Rose finally say something nice, she decided to ignore Linda’s words.
But she still didn’t believe that Kathleen would kill people for no reason.
“I don’t know where Kathleen is now. How could I find her?”
Rose sneered coldly. The Marshalls were powerful and it was said they had some hidden forces. If Kathleen tried to kill one of the Marshalls, she would definitely pay for it. Even if she could survive through revenge, she must be hurt badly.
Didn’t she threaten her openly two days ago?
She deserved it!
Sophia thought carefully and sensed that there was something wrong. “Since now Kathleen carried James’s child, could this accident have anything to do with Kara who didn’t want to leave Mr. James and planned this?
So, Kathleen didn’t kill anyone, it was just Kara’s scheme?
It must be like that!”
Sophia believed in her assumption. She needed a lot of money to save Kathleen, but where would she get the money?
Sophia didn’t know that Kathleen, the daughter she missed and worried was in a luxurious villa.
“Thank you for saving me.”
Kathleen looked at the woman in front of her. She was Kara’s classmate and Kathleen had seen her once.
Kathleen escaped from the room in a panic and bumped into her. Seeing that Kathleen’s hands were covered with blood, she said she could save her and then took Kathleen to this villa.
“No problem. It was no big deal.”
The woman was lying leisurely on the sofa, playing with her phone. Suddenly, she released the voice message.
“Elisa, why are you asking the woman who tried to kill Tom? The Marshalls will never forgive her. As long as she shows her face, the Marshalls will definitely kill her secretly.”
Kathleen recognized that the voice belonged to the man who had mistaken her as a waiter that night.
She grabbed the sofa in fear, not knowing what to do.
When Tom told her that she was raped by a group of men, she suddenly lost her mind and the only thing she wished was this hateful man would disappear from the world.
However, she never thought that she would dare to stab him with a knife.
Now when she thought about it, she couldn’t regret it more.
Impulse is indeed the devil!
“You can save me, right?” Kathleen pleaded.
Elisa looked at her and shook her head, “I can’t save you. It’s only you who could save yourself.”
Kathleen walked to Elisa and grabbed her arm with cold hands, “What could I do?”
“I can only let you stay here for a few days. If the Marshalls find out that I saved you, they won’t forgive me, too.” Elisa shook her hand off in disgust and continued to play with her phone.
Kathleen shook her head and knelt down.
“Elisa, please save me. Please. I would do anything for you.”
Elisa was satisfied with Kathleen’s painful expression, “I have a method which needs courage. It’s totally up to you.”
“Please tell me. Whatever it is, I’ll give it a try.”
Kathleen was like a drowning person, grasping the last straw.
“Come here, I’ll tell you,” Elisa said, with a shrewd light entering her eyes.
Hearing her words, Kathleen stared at her in shock. “Could this work?”
“It depends on whether you are willing to try. In the entire NK City, only Mr. James could negotiate with the Marshalls. Besides, he’s your fiancé. Why shouldn’t you ask him for help when you are in trouble?”
Elisa said casually, but Kathleen was terrified.
But she really didn’t want to die, so she only had to take a chance.
At the same time, in James’s office.
Kara changed clothes and went out of the office, following the man.
When she found Jenny was watching them, she quickly hugged James’s arm in a proud posture.
James noticed her little tricks and didn’t push her away.
Kara took the opportunity to rub his palm and gave him a bright smile. When they went downstairs, she let go of his arm.
“Little fool, you want to push me away after using me?” James mocked coldly.
