David, who had received the task, walked out of Aaron’s office door with a taut face, and met Delilah, who was hurrying inside, at the door.
The woman raised her chin high, frowned and glanced at him strangely, then twisted her head away and paid no more attention, stepping into Mr. Pittman’s office with her clattering heels.
Aaron, who was angry, walked around the office with his arms crossed, and when he raised his eyes, he saw Delilah walk straight in and pick up her phone, biting her lower lip and handing it to himself.
Unlike Gina, Delilah is more exquisite and lovely. The small palm-sized face with a pale face, long eyelashes faintly incited like butterfly wings, a lovable and good-looking look.
Aaron instantly remembered the old times, when the two were so intensely in love, and he had said that he would always be good to her.
“–Aaron,” Delilah looked down and thought for a moment, carefully organizing her words to speak: –“You shouldn’t get angry, it’s not good for your health.”
Seeing her look of being careful and vulnerable, and still trying her best to comfort herself, Aaron felt a little guilty. How could he have been so cranky with this woman yesterday.
The man wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her into a fierce embrace. The man circled her body in his arms and rested his chin on the soft hair on top of her head, softening his tone of voice to comfort her: “Delilah, I was a little too angry yesterday, don’t take it to heart. Are you still sad now?”
Hearing this, Delilah raised her head to meet the man’s eyes, the corners of her lips gently hooked up an arc, her expression full of tenderness and fondness: “I’m fine, don’t worry.”
When the words came, Delilah suddenly had a hesitant pause, as if she had made up her mind to sort out her courage, she put her hand over her belly, her eyes tinged with a hopeful tenderness. Delilah continued with a sharp breath, “Aaron, I’m pregnant.”
Hearing the news that the woman was pregnant, Aaron lowered his head in some shock and looked at Delilah’s small belly that hadn’t risen the slightest bit yet. A gentle pool of water gradually swirled in his eyes. Is it finally the child of two people again, finally able to marry the woman he doesn’t love without being tied to an heir?
With uncontainable surprise, the man hesitantly moved his broad palm down, carefully resting on her abdomen, softening his voice as if afraid of disturbing something: “Is it – here?”
Delilah, who was still a little pale, smiled and nodded, her face filled with the tenderness of a soon-to-be mother.
The house was a tender situation, and the assistant outside the house was pacing anxiously. News of Gina’s hospitalization had been gathered, should he or she knock on the door and go in to interrupt the intensely affectionate two.
Taking a deep breath, the assistant still chose to curtsy and knock on the door of the president’s office, attaching herself to the door and saying, “Mr. Pittman, Gina, she’s, hospitalized.”
Aaron, who was still reveling in his surprise of finally having a child, frowned at how that woman had been hospitalized.
His eyes hesitantly looked at this well behaved and pitiful one in his arms, he hesitated for a moment and opened his mouth to make a choice: “Delilah, let me accompany you to the hospital for a medical checkup.”
“Gina she’s hospitalized, and I don’t know how she is. You’d better go take a look,” Delilah’s eyes clarified as she looked at Aaron, shaking her head slightly, her face all thoughtful: “Besides, the time for my checkup appointment hasn’t arrived yet.”
Such Delilah made Aaron pity her even more, shouldn’t all women at this time want a man by their side – obviously, he had forgotten what he had done to Gina in the first place.
There was a flash of anxiety in her eyes, Delilah did not miss a trace of a light cough and replaced it with a gentler voice: “Gina definitely needs you more at this time, hurry up and go.”
Aaron hesitantly stood up and was pushed and shoved by the woman out of the office and walked down the stairs three steps back.
When the man arrived in the ward, he happened to run into Anthony holding up a spoon to feed water to the woman in the hospital bed.
Gina, whose face was white without a trace of blood, was still in a drowsy state, and Anthony struggled to pry open her lips and feed her water, but it was almost in vain. The transparent liquid flowed down the corners of her mouth in a line, wetting the pillow under her head.
Apparently hearing the movement at the door, the person with the soup spoon slowly turned his head and saw Aaron walking angrily to the sickbed.
“She’s my wife,” plucking him with a threatening look, Aaron snatched the bowl and spoon from Anthony’s hand and threw the spoon in the bowl: “I should be the one to feed her.”
As he spoke, he brought the bowl to his mouth and lowered his head to take a gentle sip of the water. Unexpectedly, the bitter taste that reached his mouth immediately made him frown, and Aaron’s face looked particularly strange.
How could he let this woman drink such bitter medicine straight away. He vaguely remembered that Gina hated the bitter taste.
Gathering his eyes and lifting the bowl of medicine to take a large sip, the man placed his arm on the back of Gina’s neck, gently holding her head up.
Then he leaned down and kissed the woman in his arms deeply, carefully prying open her tightly clenched teeth and slowly ferrying the medicine from his mouth to Gina’s mouth.
