27. A Bucket List

The sound of the curtains opening followed by the blinding light made my eyes flicker.
“Rise and shine ….”
I groaned, ignoring the voice by turning my back to the light source.
The bed I was sleeping on swayed gently, indicating that someone was on it. The blanket I had pulled over my body was now slowly unfurling. Someone pulled it until I felt a touch on my bare arm. “You want to waste the day off I promised you by sleeping?”
“Do you have a bucket list of things to do today?” I asked, not quite clear due to yawning.
He laughed lightly. “Yeah… I do,” he said, and I was a hundred percent sure he was talking nonsense.
I turned around again, facing him who was also looking at me. “So, what’s the first thing we’re going to do today, Mr. ‘I-Have-a-Plan’?”
“Take a bath together. Good idea?” He didn’t let me answer and immediately lifted me off the bed. “Considering you always wake up when I’m all dressed up.”
I smacked his chest, he laughed loudly. He walked me to the bathroom, still holding me.
“I’m not a child. I can walk on my own.” I frowned, looking at him.
He smirked, putting me down. “Well, good thing I’m here then, right?” he said, while starting to undress himself. I just looked at him, not responding.
One corner of my lips lifted as I caught him glancing at my naked body. “What are we doing for the rest of the day?”
“A stroll at the park,” Marco answered, while he was starting to take off his pants. “A walk with you in the park.”
I chuckled, making my way to the bathtub. I turned the water on, watching it fill the tub. “That’s nice.”
“It is.” I could tell that Marco had finished undressing. He sat next to me, while I was starting to pour the bubble bath soap into the water. He took over and poured it into the tub. He was a little clumsy with the bubbles, so I helped him. He pulled me by the waist until I was sitting on his lap. I held his neck, still smiling at his behavior.
“And what about us?”
“Hmmm…” he tilted his head, looking like he was thinking hard. “We have lots of time for that, darling. I think it’s time for a bath now. You must be exhausted after the events last night,” Marco said as he hugged me tightly, then leaned his head on my shoulder.
I just nodded. “You’re right.” I leaned against him, resting my head on his shoulders.
After washing our bodies, we took a bath together. The warmth of the water felt so relaxing, but it felt better when I was in Marco’s arms, being kissed softly on my lips. I almost fell asleep while being bathed by Marco.
“Why don’t we get some breakfast?” he whispered softly, his hands gently wiping my hair.
“You said breakfast isn’t your thing,” I said.
He just chuckled, nodding in agreement.
I thought for a moment. “Is it possible that you want to be romantic?” I asked, chuckling lightly.
“What?” he said with an amused voice. “Me? Romantic? Are you dreaming, darling?” He said while running his hands across my face. “I’m not a romantic. It’s you.”
I pretended to laugh loudly.
“We can go to any place you want,” he continued.
I giggled. “Are you going to take me to a fancy restaurant?”
He smiled, pulling my chin to kiss me again. “Anything you want.”
“Alright, let’s go.” I was already getting out of the tub.
“Hold on,” he said. “What do you want to wear?” he asked while grabbing a towel from the rack and wrapping me up.
“I’ll wear what I want, thanks,” I answered, trying not to trip over the towel as I made my way to the bedroom.
Marco sighed, but followed me anyway. I didn’t know where we were going, but I couldn’t wear something too fancy.
I put on my underclothes and slipped into the dress I choose.
“That’s nice,” Marco commented as he looked at me from the door frame. I walked over to the mirror and fixed my hair a little, pulling it back.
I was about to leave when Marco took me in his arms, hugging me tightly. He leaned his head on my shoulder, and I could feel his warm breath against my neck.
“You’re going to make us late.” I turned around, smiling at him. “Where are we going anyway?”
“Some place.”
I frowned at his answer. “No details?” I asked, with a confused look on my face. “Come on. Details.” I gave him my best puppy eyes.
“I’ll just tell you when we arrive.” He chuckled, holding my waist. “But you must be hungry. Let’s go.”
I nodded.
We both left the room together. There was one bodyguard not far from our room door. A strange thought came to me, asking how he would react to hearing about my frantic activities with Marco almost every night. Oh, my, I’m always screaming like crazy. And then, oh, my, Marco, too. I couldn’t help but laugh at myself.
“What’s funny?” he asked while closing the door behind us.
“I just think it’s funny that we’re having so much sex and you’re not even concerned with the fact that people could hear us,” I replied.
He looked at me for a while and laughed. “Do you think that would be the case? That he’d hear us?” he said, looking amused.
“Yep.” I nodded, trying not to blush. “He can hear us, doesn’t he? That’s what I mean.”
Marco looked at the bodyguard who was still standing by the door, waiting. He gave him a slight nod, then walked in front of me and put his arms around my shoulder, then gave me a little squeeze.
“There are no other people who could hear us.” His voice was so calm, as if he was telling me a fairy tale.
I frowned at his words. I mean, I’m sure I was being a little noisy every time, and that was not only me. “I’m not sure I understand.”
“You don’t need to understand, Darling.” His eyes were focused on me and he smiled. “You can keep screaming as loud as you can. And if you want to scream even louder, then I’m all yours.” He bent down and whispered, “You’re always mine, and I’ll make sure of that.”
I couldn’t help but laugh.
