Kiara POV
I came down from the elevator, the secretary was already on her seat. “Good morning” I greeted, warmly. She spared me a glance. “Morning” She replied, sharply. “The CEO will be here any moment from now” Her cold voice retreated my steps and I turned to her. “You’ll find the coffee dispenser as soon as you entered his office. He takes dark brown cappuccino in the morning and then, cold brew coffee in the noon” She explained coldly, without looking away from the system on her desk. I hummed an “Okay” before walking into his magnificent office. I carefully shut the door behind me and leaned on it, scanning everywhere for the coffee dispenser. I strode towards it and set to work immediately.
I was carrying the cup of coffee to his table when the door yanked open all of a sudden, I almost flinched. “Hi boss” I tilted my head towards the door and my eyes came in contact with a good-looking guy. He was peering his head inside, but came in afterwards. “Good morning” I greeted him, while dropping the cup of coffee on the desk.
“You’re… “Kiara” I completed, with a soft smile. “I’m Mack,” He introduced, stretching forth his hand for a handshake. “It’s so good to have you here, Kiara,” He said with a wide smile, and my smile grew. We already shook hands, but he was still not letting go of my hand. “Uh mm” I glanced from our hands over to his face; he quickly disengaged his hand and chortled.
“Alexander will be here soon. Come have your seat; here’s your desk over here,” Mack ushered me towards the table right beside the coffee dispenser. I thought I was going to be having a separate office. “Your office had been arranged actually, but the CEO wanted it like this” He explained, more like he heard my thought. But why would he want us to share office? I feebly left where I was standing and sat on the swivel chair. “That’s right” Mack said softly as soon as I sat down, but I only gave a nod; my heart wasn’t settled any longer.
“Don’t you care to know my relation with this company?” He teases while sitting down on a seat across my desk. “I would like to know Mack, please tell me” I forced a smile and a big grin formed on his lips. “Let me start with my relationship with the CEO,” He began, I nodded my head curtly. “The CEO and I are best of friends. We’ve been good friends since we were in high school,” after he finished saying that, an Image of Alexander in a school uniform popped up in my head; I smiled and shook my head. “He was really a tough guy during those times, he…” The creaked sound of the door cut Mack off. I looked at the door, he was already inside, with a hand in his pocket while the secretary had his briefcase behind him.
I quickly got on my feet. “Good morning, sir,” I greeted, my head lowered. “Morning, boss,” Mack greeted cheerfully. “What are you doing in my office, Mack?” That was all he could ask.
“Of course I came to greet you like I normally do boss, but unfortunately, you were not on seat; so I suggested I should have a nice moment with our new employee” He said clearly. “You’ve done great, Mack. But would you go back to work now?” The sarcasm in his tone was crystal. “Sure boss” I heard Mack says. And with that, the door opened and closes. My breath itched, we were left alone now. “Get me another cup of coffee” He ordered in his usual thick tone, I lifted my head and realized he was already on his seat.

She got to my table, she carried the cup of coffee, I watched her back as she strode towards the coffee dispenser. I scrutinized her; she was clad in a creamy long sleeve blouse, together with a dark blue pencil skirt, revealing her perfect curves. Her hair was parked up in a high ponytail. She turned around abruptly with another cup of coffee, but before I could peel my eyes away from her, our eyes had already locked. I felt electrocuted, how possible could she be looking so pretty without wearing any makeup? When I was finding it so difficult to breathe in, I looked away from her tempting face and drew in a long breath. I opened my PC while running my fingers into my hair, I began to work, and it was then she dropped the cup of coffee on my desk. She turned away, I subconsciously glanced at her heart shaped ass as she walks; my arousal hardened. Damn it!
Working with this woman will really cause a great disaster, I’m certain.
Amelia POV
“So, you think he’s going to fall in love with her?” I asked Mr. Samuel, without removing my eyes from the TV screen. We were both watching a movie in the living room. “Why not?” I took my eyes to his direction, “Are you saying the school bad guy will end up falling in love with an ordinary nerd girl?” I blinked my eyes twice and then, he smiled. “Yes, Amelia, you really can’t stop love, no matter how hard you refuse it. And…. The doorbell interrupted what he was saying, we both glanced at the door before exchanging a look. “It’s granny” I whispered before jumping on my feet to get the door.
I opened the door widely, it was the head of maids and two other ladies dressed, in same attire. “Hello, ma’am,” I greeted with a genuine smile. “Hi Amelia, may I come in?” I left the doorway for them to enter. “Granny had sent us to you,” She said at my back as soon as we got inside. “Hello, Mr. Samuel” She waved at him, he also waved back with a bright smile on his face. “These two will always be at your beck henceforth, so do not hesitate to call on them each time you need anything” I opened my mouth to utter something. “Here’s your new cellphone, granny said she will give you a call soon” She stretched forth a silky cellphone to me while she talked. I glanced over at Mr. Samuel, he had a big smile on his face. She dropped the phone in my hand and says, “You have absolutely nothing to worry about. Although, granny is a one kind woman, but I concluded you’re one lucky lady as well” The head of maids said tenderly, staring straight into my eyes. Surprisingly, we both stared at each other’s eyes immensely, and in the end, she retrieved her eyes. “Let’s go get the stuffs” She directly told the other maids, and with that, they exit the room. Then my eyes went back to the brand-new cell phone in my hand, “isn’t this pretty much?” I mumbled to myself,, but I assumed Mr. Samuel heard me clear, “shouldn’t you be grateful instead?” He chided, calmly. I stole a glance at him before sitting my ass on a couch. “Of course, I’m so grateful to granny, but do you think… This… Happiness would last? I mean, it is just like a fairy tale, Granny, is like my fairy godmother, isn’t it?” Mr. Samuel chortled, causing me to smile.
“Yeah, let’s say Granny is like your fairy godmother,” He says while standing up. ‘”But have you forgotten you’re paying a price for everything?” He came to sit beside me and asked, his brows were furrowed. Instantaneously, I understood what he’d meant. Granny had said I’ll be getting married to his grandson.
