Alexander POV
“So, you mean Olive is in your house presently?” Mack asked, quite stunned. I breathed out heavily.
“Whoa bro, you’ve got that girl terribly” He chuckled.
I sent him a hard glare, and he kept shut immediately.
“I only see her as a sister, like I used to say, I can’t have anything to do with her, and I made her understand that, but I don’t…” I shoved my fingers into my hair as I leaned back.
“What will you do, now that granny has developed an interest in her?” Mack asked curiously. I stared at his face for a while before shaking my head sideways.
“I don’t know”
“During our long conversation last night, I asked her when she was planning to leave, but she said she doesn’t have an idea yet” I further talked.
“Olive is a good girl, I like her, in fact. But I’m really not ready to have a girl around me, being clingy and all that”.
“Uh mm…”
“That aside, Alex, you didn’t tell me how it went with that hot girl last night,” He said with so much ecstasy.
I twisted my lips as memories with her filled my head.
Her dazzled eyes, her sharp jawline, her long eyelashes, her pointed nose and top of all, her mesmerizing voice.
She was indeed beautiful.
“Alex!” Mack banged the table, causing me to sat up with a jerk.
“Is that how good she was?” Mack says with awe.
“You were even thinking of her?”
“I wasn’t thinking of her,” I denied bluntly.
I quickly hid my face behind the laptop on the table, avoiding Mack’s gaze.
“Oh come on Alex, you can do better than that” He says as he removed the laptop from my face.
“What?”
“I’m working now Mack, we’ll talk later” I told him in a bossy tone and pulled the laptop to myself again.
“Uh mm… I see you prefer not to talk about her,” He said quietly as he rose to his feet.
I ignored him, typing nonstop on the laptop.
He stood up, and I could tell he was staring at my face at that moment, but I refused to look up.
After a while, I heard the door opened and closed, and I was sure he has left.
I slowly lifted my head and breathe out softly.
But why didn’t I want to talk about her?
Normally, I love sharing experiences with my flings with Mack, but why was it hard for me to say something about her?
I was still in my deep thought when Mack suddenly barged into my office again- that punk!
Well…. he’s the only person who has the right to barge in anyhow that pleases him.
“I told you I don’t wanna talk about her, Mack,” I said calmly as I continued typing, staring at the monitor.
“We were awarded the contract, Alex!” He shouted happily, and I quickly got on my feet.
“What contract?”
“You mean the same contract with Dell technologies?” I asked, dimly.
“Of course Alex, of course!”
“I received a call from them just now”
“Whoa!!” I exclaimed, elated as joy leapt in my heart.
I came out of my seat and jumped on Mack and embraced each other.
“This calls for a celebration, Alex,” Mack said as we disengaged, beaming.
“Of course man, you know how long I’ve been trying my luck with that particular company before it turns out good this time” My heart kept dancing of Joy as I talk.
A knock on the door interrupted us.
“Whoever it is, may come in” I said with so much excitement as I watch the door opened.
“Congratulations, sir” The secretary bowed a little immediately she came in, smiling widely.
“Thanks girl, relay this message to everyone that we’re all celebrating this victory after work today,” I told her with a broad smile. She nodded curtly and scuttled off.
Mack and I stared at each other and smiled.
“Yeah, I should share the news with Granny” I picked my phone from the table and walked towards the long couch.
“You can just do that when you get home,” Mack said with a chuckle as he sat on a single couch.
“No, I can’t wait that long.”
Another knock came on the door, but harder this time.
“Just come in already”
The secretary came in and bowed shortly, she lifted her head to talk,, but someone barged in.
Oh…
Nicholas?
“You can’t come in uninvited, sir,” The secretary said, standing in his way.
“Get the f””k out of my way” He thundered, but the secretary didn’t oblige as she kept obstructing his way.
Mack and I exchanged a short glance as he stood up.
“You can go back to your office, Felicia” I told her, and she turned to me.
“Sir…”
“He’s my guest, so don’t worry,” I said, staring at Nicholas face.
“Okay sir” She said and left my office afterwards, closing the door behind her.
“To whom do I owe this surprise visit,” I said with so much sarcasm, approaching where he was standing with my hands inside my trouser pocket.
“You won the contract again, and this is accurately the third time you’re taking what belongs to me” He fumed.
I furrowed my eyebrows.
“What exactly belongs to you Mr. Nicholas, I don’t understand” I said calmly.
“Don’t f**k with me Alex, how would Dell technologies give the contract to you but not me?!” He fired.
I grimaced as I wiped his saliva from my face.
Disgusting.
“And how’s that his fault?!” Mack also yelled as he stood beside me.
“Stay out of this, its none of your business,” He gritted out, facing Mack.
“Then I’ll have to throw you out myself before I can stay out of it,” Mack said through clenched teeth too.
“You know, I respected you a lot because I thought you’re smart” I began, and he slowly looked away from Mack’s face to mine.
“But you have just proven me wrong”
“I mean, why on earth would you barge into my office and blame me for your bad luck?” I flare up.
“Are you crazy?!”
He only seethed as he watches me.
“Let this be the very first and last time, you would ever pull the stunt you just pulled now” I threatened, furiously.
He stared into my eyes deeply, his eyes had turned red.
“Now get out of my office, before I kick you out myself!” I yelled.
“You’ll regret this,” He murmured, through grinded teeth.
And with that, he stomped out.
“Di*khead” Mack mumbled.
In the evening…
Olive POV
I hummed to Nicki Minaj’s song as I set the dinning table with the maids. They didn’t allow me to do it at first, but I strongly insisted.
“Is that all?” I asked the last maid who just dropped a big jug on the table.
“Yes, ma’am,” She answered, politely.
“Okay then”
The maid bowed and left.
I was arranging the flatware when Granny came in.
She smiled at me before sitting on a chair, opposite my direction.
“You don’t have to be doing all these, dear,” She said tenderly. “I just wanted to do it Granny, also, Alex will be home soon, and I want everything set up before he returns” I fiddled with my fingers while I talked.
“You’re just so amazing, Olive,” Granny praised, and my smile grew wider.
“And I don’t want anyone but you, for my grandson,” She says.
I quickly lifted my head to look at her, stunned.
She offered a loving smile, but I couldn’t return it.
Huh?
Did I hear right just now?
Does that mean she wants me for Alex?
Alex! The only man of my dreams!
Oh, my…
My dream has finally come true! I screamed happily, inwardly.
