Chapter 23 Staying away from each other

Book:Loving You Is My Only Cure Published:2024-5-1

Irma was shocked and froze.
If she heard the news a few hours ago, she would be overwhelmed with joy.
She waited for five years and finally, there they were.
But knowing the grievance between Frederic and her, she should wake up from her dream. She could not tell whether Frederic was sincere or not, but she knew that he would never love her.
She covered her heart that was about to be torn apart, and closed her eyes in despair, letting the tears drip down.
The wind was raging that night, and blowing the leaves with rustling sounds. Yet Frederic’s heartbeat was still clear and loud.
Irma sentimentally attached to Frederic’s warmth. She even wanted to spend the rest of her life with Frederic, but she knew that this was impossible.
The next second, she sneered and her diction became irritating, “Frederic, who do you think you are? When I decided to divorce you, I would not love you anymore. You couldn’t possibly think that I still love you deep down, could you?? Well, you are just TOO self-righteous.”
Frederic was shocked by her words, obviously.
During his startle, Irma pushed him vigorously away and quickly pulled herself out of his arms.
Looking at his hurtful eyes, Irma’s heart ached as well.
But she still bit her lower lip and forced her tears back.
She stared at Frederic and said indifferently, “Frederic, I don’t love you anymore. I’m in love with Bruce. He is very kind to me. And he made me realize that it’s so much happier to be loved than to love!”
“Also, Bruce and I are getting married soon. I will invite you to join us to our wedding. You”d better bring Una if she hasn’t been sent to prison.”
“Irma, you…” Frederic shivered with anger, but he couldn’t say a word under such circumstances.
Because he knew that it was f his indifference and torture for five years that turned Irma into this.
But why is in SUCH great pain…
“Frederic, get the HELL out of my world, and I DON’t want to see you EVER again in my life!” Irma snorted and hurried back home.
This is just a temporary accommodation for her. She didn’t want to go back to her family and didn’t want to stay in the hotel anymore.
But she did not expect that Frederic actually knew that she lived here.
He did. He did start to care about her and began to treat her well, but none of it matter anymore.
They are enemies, and they CANNOT be together in their lifetime!
Irma ran upstairs crying. Because she ran too fast, she stumbled several times, and her knees were bleeding. It hurt like hell.
But nothing could compare to the pain in her heart.
Back in the room, Irma stood behind the window and secretly looked out. Frederic hadn’t left yet.
She stood like this, looking at him with a sad look.
At that moment, she was soaked in sorrow and despair.
Irma dared not to turn on the light, so she looked at the familiar figure behind the curtain, and the moment he left, she suddenly sat on the ground and wept on and on and on.
Frederic, I’ve imagined one hundred reasons why you hate me, perhaps it was because of Una’s conspiracy, perhaps it was because of a misunderstanding a year ago, or maybe because I was not the kind you like…
But I never imagined that it was the most unacceptable one.
I can change everything else. Only your mother’s death ten years ago cannot be changed or relieved.
Frederic, maybe you are right, it’s the most correct choice for us to be far away from each other.
But it’s you. I can fall for you with merely a glance. How on earth can I stay away from you?
