Chapter 59

Book:Alpha's Puppet  Published:2024-5-1

Shane Moss had accepted and made his pack more lenient than it was. Strict laws that happens around other packs do not affect him. Even though somethings gets on his nerves, he appreciates the fact that he had made life generally easier and more comfortable for people in his pack. With this, he would get the support of some other Alphas, his people and the Rogue Pack. Especially the rogue pack, members of the rogue packs were increasing day by day and he knows if he does not support them, they would come for him. And even if his soldiers are able to repel their attacks, other Alphas would use that opportunity to finish him.
And one of the things he has done was to make sure that kids are able to have fun and go around as they please. There was no need to restrict kids for fear of being hunted by other parents. This was a normal custom among the people of his pack. Their vendetta is by killing kids of rival. They hope they would wipe out the family by killing their younger generations.
Families who have past enmity with other families never allow their kids to come out and they are always protected indoor. Kids are educated by members of their family. They are taught how to fight, survive in their world, to read and write. They were also taught to always adhere to changes. And this was why among all werewolves, the members of the Night-wolf pack were the first to become queer.
Shane Moss on his bed wished he had not relaxed the law concerning hunting children, because they were kids playing by his window, and they woke him.
“Little bastards,” he muttered. He stood up from bed and went into his bathroom.
“Even with this harsh weather, these bastards are still making this much noise,” he went to his window and peeped at them. They were chasing each other. He wish he could chase them away, but that would be him breaking his law. And that might not give him the best reputation amongst his people.
He arranged his hair. He wore his royal cloth and left his room. He walked towards his court. It’s a dark room outside of the reach of children noise. He entered but was surprised to see some council members waiting. They were having a discussion.
“My Lord!” All of them stood up and bow before him. He waved at them. He sat down on his throne, and they followed suit.
“I was hoping I would be alone here,” he announced.
“Sorry we ruined your moment but we needed to see you,” the oldest council member said.
“What is it?” He asked. He looked at them curiously.
“My lord, we just got a message from some outlaws,” the council member said.
“Outlaws? What outlaws sent you a message?”
“The message is for you sir,” the man announced.
“An outlaw sent me a message? What’s it about?” Shane Moss asked.
“Not just any outlaws my lord! It’s the Rogue Pack. The pacifist. And the Message is directed to you,” the older councilman said.
“Ahh!” He exclaimed lightly “the rogue pack sent me a message. Let me hear it,” he begged anxiously.
“It says, “Dear Alpha Shane Moss, as long as we try to ignore the title of calling a wolf an Alpha without the consensus of the general public. We believe that for a man to truly be an Alpha he has to have been chosen by members of his pack. There have to be constitutional rights and obligations on him. But because you are not a member of ours, we will retain your title even if we did not believe it,” a younger councilman read from a leaflet.
“Pfft! Weaklings!” Shane Moss commented.
“Another reason we resorted to calling you Alpha is because according to our findings, you seem to have the acceptance of your general public. Base on your recent laws and bills, some reactions have spurred from members of your pack. Some of these laws fall in line with our beliefs. And there are some members of your pack who want to revolt against you. They have come to us for help. We denied them help when we discovered they were lying, but you seem to be the sort of man we would appreciate to be a leader. We will be glad to help you quench any form of revolt that is going against the democracy of every wolf within your pack. We….” Shane Moss stopped listening to what the younger councilman was reading. He smiled.
It’s the perfect opportunity that he has been looking for. The chance to get an audience with the ever increasing members of the rogue pack. Even though he only has been using them in threatening Alphas to joining his cause, it feels good to actually have them by his side. It’s reassuring.
“Who brought this message here?” He asked after the councilman finished reading.
“It was delivered to me by my youngest son,” another councilman replied.
“Did he tell you who it was?”
“He did not. He does not know him. The man had his face covered,” the council member replied.
“And did they mention how to get in contact with them?”
“My Lord! Why do you need to get in contact with these normads?” the older councilman asked. The question infuriated Shane Moss.
“There are some things I would like to tell you about but I can’t do that now,” he replied. The councilmen looked at each other.
“It’s written here that you will receive their message as soon as possible. And then they will give you chance to reply or get in contact with them,” the younger councilman who read the letter said.
“Thank you! Are there any other discussions to be had?” Shane Moss asked in expectation of hearing nothing, he hoped to return to his room and call on his seven lackeys. Then they continue with their plan.
