Ava cursed herself for nearly slipping before Benjamin. She was just about to say everything she had vowed to keep secret just for the security of her own life. Alpha Jax had threatened to kill her and whoever she reveals to that she is his mate.

“What took you so long?” He asked her
“I was getting dressed.”
“So Benjamin came in and found you naked?”
“He came in and saw me wrapped with a duvet. He spoke at my door and left to treat himself because you hit him,” she said. She stood before him. He looked at her and smiled. That was shocking. He placed his right hand on her lap. She jerked.
“Are you okay?” He asked. She nodded but she knew she was not okay. Her whole body felt his grip on her. She could not just moan. She did not want him to stop her. She wished she wasn’t on her period.
“Just get better and come and resume the Job you were employed to do!” He said and removed his hand from her lap. For a moment she was confused. She wanted to ask what job that was, but she remembered she is his sex slave.
“You can leave!” He ordered her. She stood up and walked towards the door. His eyes were still on her. She could not believe what was happening. Alpha Jax asking about her health sounds like the most impossible thing in the universe. She wanted to make sure everything was alright with him. “May I ask you a question?” She said.
“What is it?” He asked her.
“It might be provocative to you but I am concerned about it,” she said. She stopped few feet before him.
“When will you accept me as your mate?” She asked. His eyes shone. He stood up straight and walked to her.
“I am going to say this for the last time. No one should ever know what you are to me,” he growled at her.
“Why?”
“Because I shall have none of that. Nothing about you being my mate and sworn to me. You will not say anything about it to anyone, you hear me?” He screamed. Even though it feels like he has his grip tightened around her. Ava could still feel a bit of ease around it. It was not like the usual way he use to hold her.
“I have heard you,” she yelped in pain. He released her immediately. It was strange. He use to take delight in her pain but now he cares about not hurting her?
She left his room immediately.
“Something is wrong with the Alpha,” she kept on muttering till she got to her room.
