Chapter 52

Book:Alpha's Puppet  Published:2024-5-1

“You know half of the world were not expecting my take over!” Shane Moss said.
“Why?” One of his pack members that were camping asked.
“Well, this is 2022 and the world is so civilized that there is no longer any need for a forceful takeover. And since we as werewolves cannot have elections, they have left it to the moon goddess and succession. That’s how people want us to ascend the throne now,” Shane said, battling the piece of bone in his hand.
“So may I ask why you are telling us this?” Another pack member asked.
“That’s why these Alphas are scared of me,”
“Oh!” The seven others nodded.
“I mean… why do you think the Alpha of this Deal Pack won’t allow me to come into his palace?” Shane said. He knows that recently he has sort of become a nightmare to all Alphas, and they have shown him that they were scared of him. Except they just did not create an advantage for him to take over. They all have been careful in their dealings with him.
“Alpha Shane, if I may ask, why are they scared of the way you came to power?” One of them asked. Shane smiled. He stood up and walked forward a bit. He turned and looked at the man who had asked him. He raised his hand upward like a Buddha priest. He inhaled and closed his eyes. He bent down like he was going to squat. For a few seconds, the members were confused. They don’t know why he was like that. He passed the meat with him to one of them. He formed both hands like he was going to perform yoga and he farted.
“Ahhhh! What a relief!” He sighed.
“Seriously Alpha?”
“Oh! Come on!”
“You said none of these again, remember?”
“Leave him! None of his tactics are ever going to get us again,” the members of his pack who were with him complained and laughed.
“What? I told you I will keep getting you,” he laughed at their groaning. They heard footsteps coming from behind them. Shane Moss knows it’s the Alpha of the Deal pack and his group.
“Omar! You asked me why they are scared of my method of ascension? Half of them have not seen real war. And those half are strong only on a spiritual level. They are not experienced,” he answered. He turned towards where the Alpha was coming from.
“Alpha Moss!” The approaching Alpha called. He extended his hand for a handshake.
“Alpha Deal!” Shane Moss replied and they shook hands.
“Sorry to have you delayed and kept outside!”
“Oh! Recently I have had fears shown from Alphas and your way of showing fear is the wisest,” Shane Moss commented with a smile on his face.
“What can I say? I have not heard of any Alpha killing an Alpha to ascend the throne in over a hundred years. It has always been a failed effort. And for yours to succeed, I must say, you deserve every respect and fear you get,” Alpha deal replied with his hoarse voice. He is older than Shane Moss and that’s not just evident in his voice, but also his choice of words.
” Well, I am only a few years over a hundred myself! And I haven’t seen an interesting Alpha like myself,” Shane Moss complimented himself. He smiled at Alpha Deal. He looked around and saw the over fifty guards Alpha Deal has around him. A nice precaution. Even though it might be useless, it’s better than having none.
“Why did you decide to visit my pack?”
“You see, I have been making myself known to real Alphas. Alphas that are ambitious and are interested in having their reign prosperous and long,” Shane Moss replied.
“Is that a threat or a compliment?” Alpha Deal frowned at him.
“Oh! I like providing information to people and letting them do with it as they like?” Shane replied. Alpha Deal did not reply. For some reason, the man looks angry and is full of anger towards Shane. As an elder Alpha, he feels it is disrespectful to be riddled by such a kid. Even though he would like to fight him at the moment, he has not seen the extent of Shane Moss’ strength in battle, so he has to be careful. New Alphas who ascend the throne in his manner always pack a punch in their spiritual and physical strength.
“I will ask again, why visit my pack?” Shane Moss did not reply. Tension rose between the members of Alpha Deal’s pack. Shane Moss made sure of it.
“I came with a question and an offer!” Shane announced.
“What is the question?” Alpha deal asked.
“It’s about your daughter!”
“I know what you did with your daughter. I have had information about how you treat members of your family. You see, the thing is the world has revolved past the way you were brought up. Among us, there are a group of werewolves that call themselves activists. They model themselves after the humans. They are to protect werewolves from rulers like you!” Shane Moss said.
“The rogue pack?”
“Yes! The rogue pack! I could tell them what you did with your daughter. How all she was worth was a hundred and fifty thousand. Then they could do with the information as they like. They could incite anger amongst your pack and no Alpha can truly fight the wrath of his whole pack or not,” Shane Moss said.
“So you came with a threat!” Alpha Deal frowned.
“Now! These ones are not ready to take your crown! They are all about humiliating people and making them convert through extreme hardships. I don’t know how you will feel, having everything you worked for taken away from you just because you don’t want to listen to me right now!” Shane heightened his tone.
“Oh! So this is not about you coming to show respect as custom requires!” Alpha Deal said.
“Oh! I did not become a werewolf so I can jolly around. I am in search of a thing I own. I found it and I am all about taking it back. So if you will listen to me and maybe accept my offer! We could be friends in this new era. And your dear son will be my friend too when you pass into the great beyond!” Shane Moss said. He smiled at Alpha Deal. Alpha Deal sighed, and waved to his soldiers to move back a bit so he could discuss with Alpha Jax.
“Great!” Alpha Jax waved to his men to move back too.
