“Well, what happened?” Benjamin asked her to be sure.
“I heard some former sex slaves who try to be so close with the Alpha were blood eagled. Those who tried to stand up against him were fried blood eagled,” Ava cried.
“Well, to an extent that’s true. They were blood eagled because they were being rude,” Benjamin replied.
“Were you there?” Ava asked. Benjamin saw her face. She looks petrified.
“I have always been here for the past five years, and the last sex slave to be killed was caught by me,” Benjamin claimed.
“She was a witch. She was trying to charm him. We saw her use dark magic from beyond our territory. Also, for who the Alpha is, he killed them.”
“Why? Why did they use charm when they just slaves,” Ava asked.
“Do you know how many of these people wants to keep being relevant to the Alpha? The Alpha can be cold. He can be brutal. But at times, people do worse!”
“No! Not at times. He is cold and has no consideration for any of us. He sees us as toys who do not deserve his respect. He is not a good man!” Ava gave her verdict.
“He has never been a man.”
“How cruel can he be?” Ava asked in spite.
“Well, what you term cruelty might be different from him. Anyways, he sent me to fetch you,” Benjamin announced.
“Can you tell me anything else he has done? Anything that questions morals? I know there must be lots of them. Do not cover for him. Please be honest with me,” Ava begged Benjamin. Benjamin nodded. He does not know which story to tell that would play on her emotions. Everything seems rather normal! His treatment of other slaves and some other nobles.
“I can’t really think of one right now! And I am not going to make you hate your Alpha,” Benjamin said.
“Well, I am not going to hate him because of whatever you tell me. I am going to hate him because he has done and will do,” she said. Benjamin smiled awkwardly. He acts like he wants to protect some information from her.
“I promise I won’t let anyone know,” she promised.
“Well, there is a story that they used to tell about one of the women he killed. She was the mate of a man from another pack. Her mate used to adore her. But one day Alpha Jax went to do a business deal at her pack, he saw her and took an interest in her. He picked her and cheated her and her mate just so he could satisfy himself. She was killed in an attempt to escape. Not like she tried to get so close with him,” Benjamin narrated his story of how the Alpha took him from his mate. He changed the narrative from himself, and made it about someone else.
“Unimaginable! This man is a beast!” Ava cried out. She regretted ever calling this man her mate.
“So because of a break up he had years ago, he has hated every woman?” Ava said.
She sat on the bed scared of what would have been the end of her if she pressed further towards having Alpha Jax. Benjamin tried to calm her down. He sat close to her, and placed his hands on her shoulder.
Alpha Jax was already getting impatient at the absence of Ava. It has been over twenty minutes since he told Benjamin to call her for him. He felt he had been lenient with Ava. Apart from her sister saving her yesterday, Alpha Jax has lots of things to do to make Ava stop thinking about him. He needs to stop her from acting like they are mates. But before he can come up with things, he needs her right about now.
He stood up from his seat, took a cloth, wore it and headed to Benjamin’s room. He would ask him if he had told Ava he had called her or not. He saw that Benjamin was not in his room. He could have used his mind-link, but after taking his wolfsbane, it will stop working for some time.
He went towards Ava’s ro with the intention of doing a second parade, if he should find her in her room alone.
He opened her door ajar, and saw Benjamin curled up against Ava. She rested on his chest, and for a minute, Alpha Jax forgot that Benjamin is gay.
Ava heard footsteps coming from the hallway but she ignored it. The door to her room opened almost immediately. She saw Benjamin jerking. She raised her head from his chest and saw her mate. A warm sensation passed through her. It felt like she was cheating on him. It felt like she had betrayed all the vows and everything she held sacred.
She jumped away from Benjamin. Both of them stayed at different ends of the bed. Alpha Jax looked at both of them. Ava began shivering. Benjamin did not show so much fear in his eyes, but he did not say anything. They both knew Alpha Jax would not listen to reason, and they did not bother to explain what was happening to him. Alpha Jax walked towards Benjamin.
“Look at me!” He ordered Benjamin who was looking at his feet.. Benjamin looked up at him showing a bit of remorse. Alpha Jax slapped Benjamin so hard that his lips burst and blood spurted out of his mouth.
“No one touches my property without my order!” He growled deeply. Ava climbed the bed and moved towards Benjamin. She cried. Alpha Jax pushed her away. He grabbed Benjamin by the collar and began punching him. He hit him out of anger of what he just did and on the news he received from Brian. He is scared of Brian, and at the same time hates him.
“No one will touch any of my properties without my permission,” he kept saying and punching him with every syllable of the sentence.
