“None of your business. Humph!”
She was indeed babyish. Looking behind, she added, “This is Elise’s car. Why can’t I sit in? Mind your own business. You are the man who doesn’t deserve to drive it.”
However, Robin pulled the car over and asked, “Are you sure?”
“Why did you stop it?”
Nina panicked, looking back. Seeing the Hummers almost catch up with them, she prompted, “Hurry! They’ve almost caught up with us. Hurry!”
“If you want me to drive, show your respect. I’m not your free driver,” Robin said calmly, without the intention of driving.
“You bastard!” Nina squeezed a curse between her teeth.
“Nina, they will catch us. They’re almost here…” her classmates reminded her anxiously after peering out the window.
“You!”
Nina was so angry that her chest heaved up and down. Gritting her teeth, she bit out, “It was my fault. I’m sorry. All right? Drive!”
“Not enough.”
Robin shook his head.
“Nina! They’ll hit us.”
The Hummer in the lead rushed toward the Porsche without slowing down. It was an SUV, and the Porsche would definitely be damaged miserably.
Nina looked back and saw the scene. It was almost five yards away and could hit them at any time. Gritting her teeth, Nina yelled, “All right. Robin, please, my dear brother-in-law!”
“No problem.”
When Hummer almost hit their car, Robin started the engine and dodged. Speeding it up, the Porsche was distanced from the Hummer in the lead, and the latter hit another vehicle instead.
The Porsche roared away.
“They won’t be able to catch up with us.”
Nina’s classmates checked on the Hummers behind them and found they were further away. Instantly, they breathed sighs of relief.
After the jeopardy was gone, Nina glared at Robin in anger and snapped, “You scumbag!”
Robin had taken the opportunity to force her to apologize and admit him to be her brother-in-law.
Nina felt disgraced and humiliated as she had never suffered such a loss before.
“Did you do it on purpose, Robin Bailey?” Nina glared at him, seething with rage.
“Evidently.”
Robin arched an eyebrow.
“Shameless! You jerk! So despicable…” Nina cursed him for a long while.
Suddenly, a girl in the backseat was enlightened and asked, “Nina, is your brother-in-law a racing driver? Those guys failed to catch up with us.”
“He’s not my brother-in-law,” Nina retorted immediately.
“But you admitted it earlier.”
“Are you giving me a hard time?”
Nina glared at her classmates. However, the girls chuckled joyfully. In their opinion, Nina had been an aggressive girl. It wasn’t easy for Nina to suffer a loss.
“All right. We’ll get off,” Nina said to Robin after learning she couldn’t win the verbal fight.
“OK.”
Robin didn’t deny it and pulled over the car at the roadside. After they got off, Nina threatened Robin beside the window, “You can’t tell Elise what happened. Or you should be ready to reap the consequences.”
Without waiting for Robin to respond, she turned away.
“Silly girl!”
Robin shook his head, pulled out his phone, and dialed a number. “Hello, Jeff. Come to help me deal with a few guys.”
“Yes, Mr. Bailey,” Jeff answered.
After ending the call, Robin checked behind. The Hummers were still trying to catch up with him as if they would never give up. Hence, he decided to smoke a cigarette to wait for them.
“That’s the Porsche! Hurry! I’m so pissed. Hit it!”
The leader of the group was a bald man. Sitting in the passenger’s seat, he glared angrily at the Porsche in front. A young man was driving in the driver’s seat.
“OK, Doug.”
The young man stepped on the gas.
When the Hummer was one yard away from the Porsche, the bald man and the young man were excited. However, a cigarette butt was tossed out from the Porsche’s window the next second.
It fell into the trash can on the sidewalk coincidentally.
“The cigarette butt?”
It distracted the young man and the bald man. However, when they looked ahead, the Porsche was gone again.
“It’s ahead.”
The young man pointed at the speeding-up Porsche in front.
“Why did you miss it? Aren’t you one of the top ten underground racing drivers? Loser! You idiot! How could I have trusted you? I should have driven myself,” the bald man scolded the young man, boiling with anger.
“I…”
The young man felt bitter. He was an underground racing driver, used to win 10 races in a row, and ranked among the top 10. To earn some extra money, he became Doug’s driver this time.
He had been self-confident on the first day onboard. However, he encountered a skilled driver and was defeated.
Feeling aggrieved, he thought to himself, ‘I’m not bad, but the other party is too skillful.’ In fact, he hadn’t seen anyone be so competent in driving.
The young man didn’t explain as he knew Doug wouldn’t listen. Hence, he desperately needed to step on the gas to chase the Porsche.
They were still downtown, so he dared not to drive too fast.
Ten minutes later, they followed the Porsche to the suburbia, where it was less lively and crowded. They finally caught up with it. However, when they saw Robin, the young man and the bald man were taken aback. They could tell Robin had stopped purposely to wait for them.
The bald man hopped off the car and peeked into the Porsche. After ensuring Nina and her classmates were not there, he looked at Robin fiercely. “Where is Nina Houry, Brat? Where did you hide her?”
While he spoke, his companions arrived.
Instantly, they lined up behind the bald man. They were all in black suits, looking fierce and sturdy. Some wore gold necklaces or had tattoos, emanating a frightening aura.
“Why are you looking for Nina?” Robin asked leisurely, leaning against his car.
He stopped in the lane to get an answer. Nina was just a college student, and he wondered why she had offended those gangsters.
“Why am I looking for her? Humph! That little bitch owes me more than 600, 000 dollars. We want her to return our money. Where is she? If you don’t tell us, you can pay it for her.”
Doug pointed at Robin with a ferocious look.
“More than 600, 000 dollars? How could she have owed you so much money?”
Robbin rubbed his forehead. Nina was a college student from a mid-class family. Usually, she should have enough allowance. He wondered why she had owed those people such a large amount of money.
“How am I supposed to know? Anyway, she owes me more than 600, 000 dollars. If she doesn’t return, I’ll ask you to pay it back,” Doug threatened him fiercely.
“I can pay it back on her behalf. However, it depends on your competence.”
“My competence. I’m Doug. I own the commercial street on the left of the University of Stillwater. I have hundreds of subordinates. You are alone here. Think you can win against all of us?” Doug mocked.
“No, no, no. I’m not alone.”
Right after the word fell from Robin’s lips, they heard a car roaring and a loud bang. All of them were shocked and looked over. A black Land Rover hat hit the Hummers.
Then a man got off the Land Rover. While walking toward them, he turned his neck to warm up, his eyes full of fierceness. “I’m Jeff Reczek. You are encompassed.”
