During Grace’s absence this week, Mason has prepared the wedding dress and rings and arranged everything for the wedding.
She sat in the empty villa and looked at these sacred and beautiful things, feeling quite mocking.
This was the second time she was going married, but not once was she married to the person she wanted to marry.
Just as she was thinking, there was a sound of footsteps at the door of the villa.
She thought it was Mason who came back. When she went out, she saw a woman with short hair and elegant appearance standing at the door.
The woman looked up and down at her, frowned and said, “Are you Grace?”
“Yes, you are?” Grace wondered.
“My name is Rose and I am Mason’s sister-in-law.” She said.
It turned out that she was Mason’s first love.
Grace nodded wryly and did not speak.
Rose, however, walked up to her and handed her a beautifully packaged gift box. She smiled faintly and said, “I heard that you are going to marry Mason. Congratulations.”
“Oh, thank you.” She nodded gently and reached out to take the gift she sent.
She stared at her ferocious face for a long time, then suddenly leaned closer to her and lowered her voice: “Grace, what about you runing away from wedding.”
“What?” Grace looked at her in shock.
“You don’t love Mason anyway. Why do you lose your life for her?” She said with a faint smile on her face.
Grace didn’t understand what she meant, but she laughed and said nothing, then turned and left.
Grace stared at her slim figure and suddenly had an premonition in her heart.
What she said seemed to indicate something.
But she has already made a deal with Mason and she had no choice.
If she escaped, Aaron would lose his life. She could not afford to gamble.
The day before the wedding, Mason came to Grace’s room.
He sat in front of the big French window and raised his goblet to Grace. He smiled evilly and said, “Grace, you will be my wife from now on. Cheers to our future.”
“Uh-huh.” Grace raised her glass and clinked her glass against his gently. She said with a wry smile, “But Mason, do we still have a future?”
“Of course we do.” He raised the corners his lips and said, “Don’t worry, Aaron is safe now. I will send people to operate on Aaron as soon as our wedding is over tomorrow.”
“Well, good.”
“By the way, there are also things about Stella and Caleb.” Mason narrowed his eyes, gently swung the red wine in the glass, and wore a fawning smile, “It seems that Stella did not kill Caleb.”
“What?” Grace was surprised and said. “This is impossible. In that video Stella clearly sent Caleb my photo and they met.”
“Yes, but they met in the morning, and that night Stella and Carl were together.” At this point, Mason took out some photos and placed them in front of Grace.
The time of the photo was the night Caleb died five years ago. The ambiguous and intimate figures of Stella and Carl in the photo deeply stung her eyes.
So that night, Carl sent her onto Caleb’s bed, but he spent the with Stella himself?
No wonder he refused to believe what she said all the time. It turned out that he was Stella’s witness himself.
Grace laughed at herself and her heart throbbed painfully.
It turned out that she has lost since five years ago.
Lost completely, lost in a mess.
“I checked. The only person who contacted Caleb that night was you, and there was indeed only your fingerprints on the dagger.” After a pause, Mason added, “So, if it wasn’t you, Mason could only have committed suicide by listening to Stella.”
“But the scene was not like a suicide. There were signs of struggle in the bathtub. And Caleb looked very painful when he died.”
“Is it?” Grace laughed, the bitterness in her eyes got stronger.
She thought that this time, a favourable turn finally came, but it turned out to be a dead end unexpectedly.
Mason put a cigarette in his mouth. He smiled and said, “At first I thought Carl was too arbitrary, but now it seems that the evidence is conclusive. Grace, you seem to be the only murderer who killed Caleb.”
“So at the end of the investigation, you think I’m acting in a play?” Grace sneered.
“Of course not.” He slowly leaned close to her, vomited thick smoke into her face, narrowed his eyes and laughed, “In spite of this, I still believe you.”
“Thank you.” At that moment, Grace was moved. After all, he was the only one willing to believe her in five years.
“Well, let’s not talk about this for now.” He gently helped her trim her long scattered hair and said softly, “I will continue investigating the case of Caleb for you. You will have a good rest first and be my bride tomorrow.”
“Okay.” Grace was dazed and subconsciously drew a safe distance from him.
He was not angry. After throwing the unfinished cigarette butts into the garbage can, he turned and left.
Grace sat in the empty villa and felt upset.
Couldn’t she get rid of the crime of killing Caleb in her life? But what exactly happened that year? How on earth did Caleb die?
She got up feeling fidgety and planed to take a bath to sober herself.
As soon as she entered the bathroom and took off her clothes, she heard an impatient peal of doorbell.
She thought Mason was back, so she wrapped a bath towel around her and opened the door of the villa.
Seeing Carl standing at the door with blurred eyes, she got a fright and subconsciously wanted to close the door.
However, he pressed the doorknob, pushed the door open vigorously, then jumped in, kicked the door on with one foot, and pressed her against the wall with a sneer.
“Carl, what do you want?” Grace stared at him with pretending calm.
‘to fuck you.” His voice was hoarse, and his body was full of the smell of alcohol. “Grace, don’t forget, our deal is not over yet.”
“Let me go!” Grace struggled to push him away and raised her voice. “I can let Mason give money to you if you want. I beg you, let me go and don’t disturb my life again… Um…”
Before she finished speaking, her neck was strangled.
Carl stared at her with his scarlet eyes and shouted angrily, “Grace, have you made great achievements? Speaking of Mason all the time, do you really regard him as your husband? Do you deserve it?”
“Excuse me, we are getting married tomorrow.” Grace blushed and sneered, saying word by word, “Whether I deserve it or not, he is my husband. So, please stay away from me.”
“Grace, you are disgusting!” He pushed her down on the sofa vigorously, tore off her bath towel and shouted, “Then I’ll fuck you tonight. Let me see if Mason still want you or not when you are so dirty!”
