We didn’t realize the alpha was already on the chair ready to make his speech. Lena and I were too consumed by our conversation.
” let’s listen,” I told Lena and she nodded in agreement.
This time around, I made sure I pushed the lady in front of me a little so that I can get a glimpse of the king.
” I am the king Alpha, the one you’ve all been waiting for ” his voice sounds smooth and I can feel my wolf drooling.
‘He has a nice voice, Melissa’ my wolf Lisa said
I rolled my eyes not wanting to get affected by that. Truth be told I felt it too, I felt some kind of pull but I don’t understand. Maybe it’s just me thinking too much.
Since he was far from us, it was hard to see how he looks. I bet he is some ugly jerk that doesn’t keep to his pants.
‘What if you’re wrong?’ My wolf questioned
‘ Stop interrupting my thoughts, Lisa!’ I snapped.
Lisa pouted ‘ but why are you mean to me? I was only stating the fact’
I mentally rolled my eyes. Thank goodness everyone’s attention was on the King.

I could feel her slumping her shoulders ‘ you’re mean’

“You are not here to play or whatsoever, You are here to serve me. You’ll do as I say without any objection. Anyone found disobeying the rules will be apprehended so you better know what’s good for you.”
.” Yes Alpha ” the crowd chorused ” We’ll do as you want, use us to your satisfaction. We are here to serve you till you see it dim fit to release us.” They sang out like a national anthem. That verse was meant for slaves to their superiors and it’s a must to sing it when given an order.
” Good, you may rise. Each and everyone one of you will be given a master and you must do as you are told. Whatever your masters want, you do it for them. I hope I made myself clear?”

The way he speaks left some tingling feeling in my body. I don’t understand how but there is something about the alpha that affects me and I can’t wait to find out what. His voice alone is to die for not to talk of the looks and I haven’t gotten a clear view of him. He should be around his early twenties of thirties if I’m not mistaken. Normally, King alphas are always from that age downwards. I don’t think a young guy can be a king alpha.
” This is getting too boring ” Lena whispered in my ears not wanting the others to hear” I’m getting tired of standing ”

I wasn’t tired at all I was enjoying the conversation with the King. I feel excited hearing him talk. There is something about his voice, it sounds commanding and should I say sexy?.
‘ are you falling for the king already?’ My wolf teased and I rolled my eyes in return.

‘ It’s normal, I’m sure the female wolves here also feel the same as me right now ‘ I said in my head to my wolf.
‘ Believe it or not we’re on the same shoe. I thing I like him already’ She revealed and I almost chocked on my saliva.
‘ You must be crazy Lisa. You just know him for like some minutes now and you’re already falling ?’
Lisa Shrugged ” I’m allowed to who knows, he could be our mate”
I snorted ‘ not while I’m alive. He can never be our mate. When we find our mate, it won’t be as hard as this. The pull would be stronger because our mate will perceive us no matter how far we are from each other. The King alpha isn’t for low life like us, his mate must sure be someone of great statue and I doubt if he’s still single right now’
.. Lisa hummed not agreeing but didn’t say anything and I was happy about that. I don’t think I still want to go on and on about the king Alpha issue.
” I can see you and your wolf are having a long talk”
I almost scream but composed myself. It came unaware.
Lisa apologized immediately ” I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you off like that”
I put a hand on my chest ” it really nothing” I waved it off ” My wolf is just being so stubborn these days” I could feel Lisa rolling her eyes.

I giggled ” I do agree with her on this one, you are to be blamed. I’m sure she misses your mate that’s it”
She rolled her eyes ” She should learn to deal with it then. It’s just a matter of few weeks and we’ll be with our mate”
I hit her shoulder slightly ” Don’t be harsh on her ”
” I’m not” Lisa laughed knowing fully well that her wolf isn’t happy about what she said ” ok sorry Mona” she apologized out loud to her wolf.
I giggled finding it funny while Lena glared at me playfully.
” Don’t make her angrier” she playfully scolded and I nodded.
” You’ll are Dismissed”
I didn’rrealizee the alpha was done talking not until the beta dismissed us. I glanced at Lena and she also shared my surprised look.
” That’s all?” She thought out loud.
” I think that’s all,” I said.
” Move to the War ground. You’ll be assigned a master over there”

We finally got there and there are older ladies holding a long paper waiting for us. They have a frown on their faces as if they don’t want to be here. No one forced them.
The least they could do is to smile welcoming us but they stood glaring as we all take our stand.
” I’m already hating the one in blue gown” Lena whispered in my ears and I also nodded in agreement.
The lady held the most frowned face ever. She didn’t care whether we noticed or not.
” Thank goodness you are all here,” the same lady said rolling her eyes.
Why so rude?
” She sounds annoying right now,” I said out loud.
” Let’s get this over and done with. I just pray we have the same master” Lena wished.
I chuckled ” Let’s wait and see then.”.
” When you hear your name from this angle, make sure you know that you’ll be working in the health center of the pack,” The First Lady among the three said.
” If you hear yours from here, it means you’ll be at the king’s parent section”
” If you hear your name from this angle, then it means you’ll be walking at the war Zone. Cleaning of messes made by guards after any fights or whatsoever”
Then finally the lady with the frown speaks ” if your name is being called here, you’ll be working inside the palace, meaning inside the king’s palace so know what you’re here for”
Lena held my hand ” I’d prefer the War zone. I’ve always wanted to learn how to fight ”
” Same here. I’m good in combat and some kicks but I still need more training”…
” How did you learn how to fight especially a maid?!” She asked in wonder
I chuckled at her surprised face ” I try as much as possible to peep on the guard when they are training. At times I pretend to go there and clean then try to learn how they fight.”
” Are you that good?”
I hide this side of mine from everyone. Even Ashley who is my friend at the pack didn’t know. Atimes I scale to practice at night.
” I’m good I guess” I didn’t mean to sound proud but it’s good to uplift one’s self at times.

The First Lady started calling names, after she was done the second lady started with hers. We were surprised not to hear our names on the first and second list and this remaining was that from the War zone and the King’s palace.
” I pray we hear our names next” I prayed out loud.
” Me too”
The lady from the War Zone held her paper high and started the name-calling. When she got to the end I was worried because I don’t want to work in the palace. I hate working where high people live. It never ends well.
The third lady ended the name-calling.
Lena and I stared at each other and we know what that means ” it seems we’ll be working inside the palace ”
