Third person’s point of view
*Ferguson’s Penthouse-06:50pm**
Ferguson swayed his shoulders to the soft beat playing in the background as he reached for his bottle of perfume, he’s currently in his huge walk-in closet, getting dressed for his family dinner.
He dropped the perfume after spraying some on himself, wore his jacket and checked out his hair one more in the mirror -making sure it’s perfectly done, but with a huge frown on his face.
“Mr Alfonso?” Rob called, rushing towards the closet, with Ferguson’s ringing phone in his right hand. “May I come in?” he asked when he’s right outside the door.
“Yes, come in”
“Sir, your mother…whoa, whoa” Rob forgot what he was going to say immediately he saw his boss.
He tilted his head with a confused frown plastered on his face.
“Why are you getting all dressed up for a family dinner, sir?”
Ferguson chuckled at the words ‘family dinner’, as though he found them funny.
He reached for his Rolex watch, and wore it, then did an overall check out of himself before walking out of the closet, with his hands tucked in his pocket, and Rob following closely behind.
“What is a family dinner to you, Rob?”
“Uh…” Rob twisted his lips as he does a brief thinking. “It’s sitting around a dinning table, and eating with your family” he gave what he knew as the basic definition of a family dinner.
Ferguson nodded, he reached out his hand, and signaled Rob to hand him his phone. He frowned as he saw his mother’s name flashing on the screen, he quickly turned off his phone and shoved it in his pants’ pocket.
“Having dinner with your family, and family alone, right?” Rob nodded. “Good, then you should know that this dinner isn’t for my family alone, our business partners are attending it too; hence it’s a business dinner”
They stopped in front of an elevator, and Rob quickly pressed the open button, and they stepped in.
“You should also know that it’s unethical of me to attend a business dinner without dressing professionally” he explained.
Rob nodded in agreement, but then another question struck him, and he couldn’t resist asking. “But sir, your fiancée is attending the dinner too…”
Ferguson raised his brows. “My fiancée?” then frowned. “Did you engaged someone behind my back for me?”
“No, sir”
“Then shut the f**k up!” he snapped.
“Yes, sir”
Then there was silence for the rest of the elevator ride, until it finally got to their destination (the underground parking lot), and they stepped out.
“Which car did you pick?”
“The Lambo…”
“Drive the SUV”
“Yes, sir”
After walking a few minutes, they arrived at a black SUV. Rob reached for the backseat door, and quickly pulled it open, then stepped aside and Ferguson slide in.
He (Rob) rounded the car, got into the driver’s seat, started the car and drove towards the exit of the parking lot.

*THE ALFONSO’S ESTATE-07:15pm**
“This boy is seriously getting on my nerves and I don’t think I can put up with his nonsense any longer” SNR Alfonso grumbled angrily as he watched his wife hopelessly trying to reach their son via phone.
Mrs Alfonso released a frustrated sigh when her calls went straight to voicemail, she angrily threw her phone on the next sofa, and glared at the main door for a short while.
“I have a bad feeling about this” she complained. “I’m afraid Gus isn’t coming, and Claudia’s parents wouldn’t appreciate such disrespect” her eyes were welling up at that moment.
SNR Alfonso quickly moved closer to his wife, and pulled her in for a hug, and planted a comforting kiss on her forehead.
“Don’t think too much about it, he is coming”
“Are you confident?”
“Yes” he squeezed her shoulders. “I know our son is very stubborn, but one thing I can boast about him is the fact that he doesn’t fail you”
“Really?”
“Yes, he loves and respects you so much, and wouldn’t do anything to hurt you”
Her expression changed, she broke into a smile and nodded confidently.
“He only sees me as his enemy” SNR Alfonso concluded.
“No, he doesn’t see you as an enemy” Mrs Alfonso tried to defend their son, but her husband scoffed in disagreement.
“I beg to differ”
He reached for his phone on the table, and scrolled through it for a moment, then showed it to his wife.
“Here, I have called him so many times but all my calls go straight to his voicemail” he frowned. “At least you can reach him via phone call, but I can’t talk to him without scheduling an appointment with his assistant”
Mrs Alfonso bite back a laugh.
She was about commenting on her husband’s concerns, but was interrupted by the ringing of the doorbell.
At that same moment, Rita’s footsteps were heard as she rushed out of her room, and down the stairs.
“They’re here, mom, where’s your precious son?” she asked with mockery dripping off each word.
Her mother threw her a scolding glare. “We don’t know if it’s Ferguson” with that she (Mrs Alfonso) hurried to get the door -Rita followed behind to confirm whether it’s truly her brother or not.
Mrs Alfonso’s smile almost faded when she threw the door open, and wasn’t greeted by her son’s sight, rather, she was face to face with their dinner guests -Claudia and her parents.
“Oh, Mr and Mrs Simon, so good to see you” she said gleefully. “Come on, honey, Samantha and George are here” she called to her husband who was already approaching them.
She heard Rita sniffling a laugh behind her, and turned slightly to give her (Rita) a warning glare, then faced their guests.
“You looking so youthful and beautiful, Diana” Samantha complimented Mrs Alfonso.
Mrs Alfonso laughed at Samantha’s compliment, then leaned forward for a hug, while their husbands shook hands, and did their bro hug as they exchanged pleasantries too.
“I’m not beautiful, please” Mrs Alfonso tried to stay humble about her beauty.
At this moment, she noticed Claudia’s who’s been smiling widely, but sweetly all these while.
“Claudia, darling, you’re looking exceptionally beautiful today”
“Thank you, aunt” Claudia blushed, but held up her head so confidently.
SNR Alfonso cleared his throat to get everyone’s attention.
“We’re being rude, honey” he put an arm around his wife’s shoulder. “Let’s invite out them before we catch up”
“Oh, yes, yes” Mrs Alfonso agreed. “Please, come in” she ushered them in, with a very bright, and genuine smile on her face.
Everyone laughed at her reaction, she looked so cute ushering them in. Rita gave way, and waited until the elders have all entered the house, then pulled Claudia back and raised her brows questioningly.
“I wasn’t expecting your parents will be attending this dinner, what happened?” Rita whispered to Claudia.
Claudia looked towards her parents, and rolled her eyes. “Me too” she sighed. “Apparently, your parents invited them, it seems like they want to make an announcement”
“Damn” Rita cursed. “Anyways, I believe whatever announcement they wanna make would be in your favor, but please keep in mind what I told you last night”
Claudia nodded.
“You must do everything possible to keep my brother”
“Of course”
