There is an area in the Atlantic ocean that is believed to be cursed or to possessed by some evil magic powers. Many ships are believed to have sunk in this area, Many planes and aircrafts are believed to have disappeared in mysterious ways over this area. It is located between Bermuda, Florida and Puerto Rico. This place is called the Bermuda triangle.
Many people believes that over this place lies the Mariana Trench, which is the supposed deepest part of the earth, lying at about 36, 069 feet below sea level.
But one unpopular fact amidst humans was that the Bermuda triangle is the portal gateway to the Fey and Elven Kingdom.
A small Quatar airbus plane was flying at 20, 000 feet and descending gradually towards the Bermuda triangle. To the visible eye, the plane crashed into the water, but without a massive splash of water but just a minor ripple as it’s nose entered the water.
But in the other magical realm, the plane was descending into a massive runway.
The Fey and Elven Kingdom was a very developed and civilised world. Many Feys and Elves chose to live amongst humans but each and everyone of them could easily transport themselves to their native home without going through the Bermuda triangle.
They may have a portkey, which was any random object that was infused with the magic to transport them here. Or they could have a portal code in their house.
The Elven Kingdom were just neighbours to the Feys and they lived in harmony. Maybe because the king of the Feys is going going marry the Elven queen or just because they are tolerant of each other.
Either way, they are hardly ever affected by the outside world.
The plane touched down and the men – Alpha Jamie, Jaja, Claude, Gibson and three other men from the pack – came out. They were welcomed warmly and escorted to the Palace, where the king lived.
The Fey King was a very jolly and sometimes quite rash person, but he preferred to spend his days partying and drinking wine. He was not available to attend to Jamie and his crew at the moment so the men offered to wait.
“I’m sure the man is busy partying somewhere.” Jaja said, picking a grape from the fruit tray beside him and plopping it in his mouth. “Hmm, I forgot… Feys grow the sweetest fruits.”
“I have read that somewhere but I never confirmed it. And I heard they have a thing for grapes.” Claude said.
“Here.” Jaja said, handing a bunch of grapes to him. “Try some.”
Just as Claude put it in his mouth, a tall Fey walked in and bowed and said, “The king will see you now. If you will follow me.”
“So quick?” Jamie asked himself. He turned and spoke to the men from his pack excluding Claude and said, “Yoi guys should stay and wait for our return.” And then he got up and followed the Fey.
They were led into the King’s cabinet where he sat waiting, a goblet of wine in one hand. King Drakys the third. He was a big Fey, bigger than the average Fey, standing at about 7 feet tall. Magic seemed to radiate and swirl around him. Just looking at him, the aura of magic could be seen in faint rainbow colours.
He stood up from his throne and came down to meet them with arms outstretched. His feet didn’t seem seem touch the floor, like he was floating one inch from the floor.
“Jamie…” He clapsed Jamie in a bear hug. “Jonas…” He turned to Jaja and grapsed his hand ina firm handshake. “Such pleasure. Come sit.”
They sat on the comfortable chairs that were offered.
“To what do I owe this surprise?” Drakys III asked. “Is it because of our festivals? I would have invited you but i know you wolves aren’t much fun anyway.”
Jamie cleared his throat to speak.
“You want wine?” Drakys III asked. “WINE! Someone bring my brother here some wine!” He shouted. “These guys are bloody damn slow.” He clapped his hand and the gold goblets on the low table beside where they sat filled to the brim with red wine. “Drink my friends and let us be merry.”
They each picked a cup.
“To our peaceful and healthy lives.” Drakys III toasted.
Jamie paused for a second and then drank from the goblet. Claude and Jaja followed suit.
“What are you here for, Jamie?” Drakys III said. His voice was calm and serious.
“You follow the news, right? About Vampires wanting my son’s head.” He paused. And Drakys III nodded, and then Jamie continued. “The boys went missing again. Abducted infact from inside our territory.”
Drakys was smart and quick to catch up. “Vampires can’t enter uninvited, am I right?”
“You are right.”
Drakys III rubbed his moustache thoughtfully. “That leaves us with the Feys and Elves.”
“Yes.”
“And I can assure the Elves have not concerned theirselves with our problem.”
The wolves nodded.
“And I can also assure you that I have not sent any of my men to Europe since the beginning of the year. How sure are you that it was Feys that did it?”
“Because the boys are back home and they told us that your watchers kidnapped them.” Jaja said.
“What? My watch – They’re not my watchers for crying out loud!” Drakys said in a once again jolly mood, like he was happy he was not to be blamed for the mess.
“But you’re their king.” Claude said.
“In a manner of speaking and only in ceremonial rites. They don’t follow my orders, not directly anyway, They have a struct code of conduct which they follow and besides, they only directly obey the orders of Zhao, their commander.”
“And you’re not bothered about it?” Jamie asked.
“Do I look bothered about anything?” Drakys III asked in return, slurpinh down his wine. “But to ease your mind, I’ll summon Zhao. Atleast, that one obeys my orders.”
“Thank you.”
“But for the main time, Let’s celebrate.”
“What exactly are we celebrating?” Jaja asked.
“Anything. Nothing.” Drakys III laughed. “Lets just celebrate.”
The air in the cabinet compressed and expanded and a portal opened. The flap of a gray robe was seen as 5 watchers filed out and made way for a final one. This watchers didn’t wear the traditional gray colour but a black robe.
“Just as if they knew what we were talking of.” Drakys said merrily. “Zhao, come join the celebration.”
Zhao and his men remained quiet as they advanced.
“My king. Alpha Jamie. Alpha Jonas. Beta Claude.” His voice was husky. As he spoke.
Jamie stood up angrily. “It was you that ordered the kidnap of my boys.”
Zhao didn’t speak for a moment then he said, “You obstructed their questioning. We did what had to he done.”
“And what did you find out?” Jamie sneered.
“Sadly, they escaped before we had the chance to invade.”
“Wait, hold on a second.” Drakys III said, standing up. “The boys escaped?” He turned to Zhao. “I’ve never heard of anybody escaping from the Watchtower.”
“These boys are more creative and rascally than anybody you have met, my King. That was not all they did.”
“Tell me more.” Jamie said, folding his hands.
“Lets see…” Zhao counted off his fingers as he spoke. “They broke one of my watchers nose by headbutting him, they stole a robe, they destroyed private magical property by crashing through the gate. What else?”
“They crashed to South America.” Jamie said.
“That was their luck.”
Jamie turned to look down at Jaja and Claude. “Cam you believe this guy. Their luck, he says. Some luck that is.”
Zhao toon a step forward. “We made shocking discovery that made us want to ask your boys some questions. A discovery that if proven proven be true, will affect the whole world.” He turned to look at Drakys III who was pouring more wine into his goblet. “Including us, my King.”
“What discovery is that?”
“The werecats are back. And one of those boys has the Feline gene in him.”
THE SUN WAS going down fast. It was that time of the year when we had long night and short days. The sun started setting at 5. 00pm and by 7, everywhere was black.
I had started getting used to my latent shifting. Occasionally, while alone, I would feel a discomfort in my butt and when I turn to check and adjust myself, a long tail sprouts out. Or my ears or more commonly, my eyes.
That was what was happening this evening. My eyes were vivid green. I was seated outside on the verandah, watching the sunset, when Jake came over. He came holding his tablet and playing some kind of video game on it.
“Hey, you called Elsa yet?” He asked, not looking up.
I shook my head. “No.”
“Why not?”
“I don’t have anything to say. Besides, there’s Lily.”
“But Elsa gave you your first nonfamily kiss.”
“Shhh. You don’t need to announce it to the world.” I silenced him.
He paused the game. “Here. Use my tab. Give her a call. You still have her number, right?”
I nodded. That piece of paper followed me everywhere. When I changed Jeans, the paper also changed jeans.
I brought it out from my pocket and showed him.
“Great!” He said. “What we need now, is a private location. Come on. I have just the right place in mind.”
We took off. I had memorised the number just in case I misplaced the paper.
“Start trying to see if it’ll connect.” He pushed the tab into my hand.
With shaky fingers, I pressed each number, digit by digit and dialled it.
“It’s ringing.” I said as I waited with the dialling tone. “voicemail.” I said dejectedly.
“Hang up and try again.” He said, climbing over some shrubs.
“Hey where are we going?” I asked, giving mind for the first time in the place we were.
“Relax. We are still in our territory. Almost atleast. We’re headed there.” He pointed at a gnarled old tree standing solitary against the harsh blackness of the night.
We went under the tree and sat down on the roots. “Try again.” Jake urged me.
I typed in the numbers and called again.
“Psst! Hey!”
A voice called from the darkness. My eyes adjusted to see a pale boy come shuffling forward. But this wasn’t a human boy. I knew that because he stopped just outside our borders. He was a Vampire.
Jake stood up. “What do you want?”
“I want to help you.” Came the terrified whisper.
“Bugger off.” Jake said to him. “Come on Jason. Let’s go back home.”
But I was staring at the face of this kid. He was very familiar. I walked closer and stopped where our boundary was and stared harder, trying to jarr my memory to remind me.
He cocked his head to and angle and I remembered him.
“Jake.” I called without turning away. “This is Vampire Bruce. The one that escaped from that first night.”
