ARIANA
After Austin left, I handed a sandwich to dad and took the other, I couldn’t help but smile.
I can’t remember the last time we are anything as expensive as this together, it’s been a long we are good food.
Dad coughed and I gave him a milkshake immediately.
The doctor came in smiling and he checked dad’s temperature.
“How do you feel now?” The doctor asked her dad.
“Better doctor” Dad replied smiling faintly.
The doctor joked with dad for a few minutes before leaving.
“Your boss is very kind. He has a nice heart and he’ll treat you well” Dad and coughed.
“Have a drunk dad” I replied standing up.
After an hour, the nurse came in holding a tray with a jug of water and a tablet bottle.
She opened the bottle and brought out a very small tablet.
What the fuck. Such a small tablet costs so much. Isn’t it mere wickedness?.
After the drug was given to dad, he slept off and I dialled Austin’s number.
He was sent to pick up his calls and I instructed the nurse to give dad an apple when he woke up.
I kissed dad’s forehead and left. I took a taxi to the house.
I walked inside and went to the kitchen, I opened the fridge and my mouth watered just looking at the fruits and drinks.
I took two peaches and one pineapple washed them and cut them into small pieces which I put in a plate.
I took a fork and walked majestically to the sitting room. Hmm…, I said with closed eyes savouring the sweet taste in my mouth.
I opened my eyes and saw Austin coming down the stairs with his hair and cloth rumpled.
It’s evident he just woke up and he looks so breathtaking.
I gulped hard as I watched him take slow strides. “He looks both cute and funny”.
I giggled when he used his hands to clean his eyes.
He saw me and looked at me awkwardly before reacting. “You’re back” He mumbled to himself as he yawned slightly.
I loved the way his lips parted ever so slightly.
“Yea. I didn’t realise you were home since your car wasn’t outside” I replied and he looked at me with surprise.
“You mean my car isn’t outside?” He asked and I wondered how he got home if he didn’t use his car.
“He’s a wolf remember?” I said to myself.
“No, it’s isn’t sir” I replied and like someone who remembered something, he sighed, shook his head and went outside.
I laughed silently and wondered if he has always been forgetful.
I continued eating and when I was done, I went to my room and slept off.
After a few hours.
I woke up and checked the window and everywhere was dark.
“Shit!” I cursed. I must have slept off.
I went downstairs and found Austin playing a video game with Donald.
I tiptoed, heading for the kitchen but stopped mid-track.
“Ariana!!. How have you been?!” He said in a dramatic way making me sigh.
He hugged me and I was confused. I looked at Austin and saw a flash in his eyes but he looked away when my eyes met his.
He disengaged from the hug and pinched my face.
“Ouch, that hurts” I whined holding my face and he smiled.
“That’s for trying to walk past me without saying hi” He joked and I smiled.
If only Austin was this way.
“I’m sorry sir” I said with a curt now.
“Just call me Donald” He beamed with a smile exposing his cute dimples.
I looked at Austin with a questioning gaze.
“Don’t get yourself worked up, Austin wouldn’t give a damn. Right Austin?” Donald asked teasingly as he cast a glance at Austin who ignored him.
I called him Donald shyly and went to the kitchen where I made macaroni and cheese.
I dished out the food and informed them I had made dinner.
Donald came to the dining first. “Damn, I’m so hungry. Wonder what you made” He said rubbing his palms and licking his lips.
“You can leave now” Austin said as he walked to the dining.
“Dude why would you send her away?” Donald asked with a pitiful face, not understanding the boy he calls his best friend.
“The way you flirt with her makes me want to puke” Austin replied making Donald burst into laughter.
“What’s funny?” Austin asked looking at his annoying best and only friend.
“You don’t want me to get close to Ariana?” Donald said and Austin frowned.
“Mom brought her here, she’s my responsibility and I don’t want her to end in tears” Austin defended.
“Dude!! Listen to yourself. She’s my responsibility” Donald said mimicking Austin.
“She isn’t a child. You can’t use responsibility as a lame excuse. You’re interested in her” Donald said.
“No I’m not. I’ll never be, she’s a fucking maid and she’s ugly” Austin retorted.
“If that’s what you think, then prove it by letting me date her” Donald announced.
Austin’s eyes twitched while his hand shook slightly as he held the chair for support.
“Fine, I don’t care” Austin said after a brief silence and Donald smirked.
“Ariana, come eat with us” He shouted twice and Ariana came out holding a tray.
Donald stood up and pulled a chair out for Ariana making Austin feel slightly uncomfortable.
He returned to his seat and opened the food. “Oh dear, you made my favourite food” Donald said winking at Ariana who smiled.
“Wasn’t your favourite SUSHI?” Austin asked with a grin and Donald glared at him.
“Yes, that’s my favourite restaurant food, not HOMEMADE FOOD” Donald replied with gritted teeth.
Austin chuckled and continued eating his food.
“Your food tastes just like you. It’s heavenly” Donald flirted and Austin stared at him then looked at Ariana who was trying to conceal a blush.
”Table manner, please could we all eat in silence” Austin complained making Donald shut up.
After packing the dishes, Ariana washed the plates.
Donald and Austin argued about playing Truth or Dare or a video game.
Ariana left the kitchen and was heading upstairs.
“Ari come to play a game with us” Donald called making Austin groan and Ariana sigh.
Ariana went to join them on the couch and she avoided eye contact with Austin who was glaring at her.
Austin thought of leaving but knowing how cunning his best friend was, he decided to stay.
“Now we’ll play a game of truth or dare. I’ll roll this bottle and whoever its bottom is pointed would dare who its head is pointed at” Donald explained and Arina nodded.
“The rule is you can’t leave when you’re dared unless you pay the ransom and it’s one dare, two truths. Okay?” He inquired.
“What about if I do not want to play?” She asked hoping he would let her go.
“You have no choice” Donald said and Austin sighed. Donald has a lot for Ariana in store.
They sat on the couch with Ariana in between Jayden and Donald.
Donald rolled the bottle and its bottom was pointed at Ariana and its head at Austin.
“Truth or dare sir?” Ariana asked cautiously.
“Truth” Austin replied coldly.
“When is your birthday sir?” She asked with nervousness and fear.
“June 6, precisely a month from today” Austin replied and Ariana nodded before rolling the bottle.
The bottom was pointed at Donald and its head at Austin.
“Truth or dare big guy?” Donald asked with a sly smile.
“Dare” Austin replied and Ariana gasped then used her palm to cover her mouth.
“Good, I dare you to give me your beach house” Donald said with a wide grin.
Ariana opened her eyes wide, how could a friend ask for something as enormous as that?.
“Done” Austin replied without bulging. Ariana didn’t know when the word ‘what!”. Escaped her lips.
“Don’t be surprised, he once collected a million from me and I have intentions of getting my money back” Donald replied with a laugh.
“Weird friends” Ariana thought.
Donald rolled the bottle and its bottom pointed at Ariana while its head at Donald.
“Don’t hold back dear, you can dare me to do anything. I choose to dare Donald said with thoughts that she would ask for clothes or a date”
“Oh… ok, I dare you to return to sir Austin’s house” Ariana said coyly and Austin dropped the can of diet coke he was about to drink.
“Fool!” Austin thought as he pick up the can and used his handkerchief to clean his pants.
Donald was temporarily stunned, if she had the hots for Austin then she’s in for a disappointment.
“What’s the ransom, or alternative?” Donald asked not wanting to let go of the house.
“Hmmm… Or you give him your car” Ariana replied with a broad smile.
Never had Austin seen a girl as dumb as her. Rather than feel pity for him, she could have asked for money.
“When it comes to girls, Donald could forfeit his properties” Austin thought with a smile.
“I’ll give him my car” Donald replied after much hesitation. Austin burst into laughter and Ariana was confused.
“Man your Lamborghini is more expensive than the house so why would you give up your car?” Austin asked looking at his friend with suspicion.
“Nothing, just that I have a new girl and have intentions of fucking her ass in your beach house” Donald teased making Austin clench his fist and grit his teeth.
Ariana was surprised at his boldness.
Ariana rolled the bottle and its bottom faced Austin with its head facing Donald.
“So man, what’s it gonna be. Truth or dare?” Austin questioned with a mischievous gleam in his eyes.
“Truth” Donald said calmly.
“That’s real nice bro. The new girl you wanna fuck, tell us her name” Austin said smiling lightly as Donald fumed.
“Nikita” Donald said.
“Don, it’s the truth you must say. Stop lying” Austin said enjoying the way Donald glared at him.
“Fine, it’s you, Ariana” Donald was confused and Ariana gasped.
“Why would he have such dirty thought?” She asked herself.
“Roll the damned bottle Austin” Donald who wants to get revenge commanded.
“Oops, sorry. I’m no longer interested. Come for the house documents with your car documents” Austin said and ran off.
“Damn that bastard” Donald cursed as he stood up and ran after Austin who ran to the kitchen.
Austinn came out, running and laughing as he headed upstairs with Donald following closely behind.
Adults, yet they act like children. Ariana thought as she sat on the couch and began watching a Korean movie.
Austin ran upstairs, to Ariana’s room and hid in her wardrobe.
Donald checked the bathroom and couldn’t find him. He opened the wardrobe and found Austin.
“What the hell, did you get her these clothes?” Donald asked as he looked at the sexy short dresses.
“Oh come off it man, you got her these dresses. Ariana doesn’t wear what the bitches at school wear” Donald said checking the clothes.
“Dude you like her but won’t admit it” Donald said with a grin.
“Urgh!!!, enough of Ariana already, we were playing a game remember?” Austin groaned as stepped out of the wardrobe.
“Her room looks nice, did you redecorate it?” Donald asked as he glanced around.
“No, I didn’t, I’m going to get myself a drink” Austin said and left before Donald could say anything.
Donald came downstairs and found Ariana watching a Korean movie.
“What’s the title?” He asked sitting beside her.
“My Taste” She replied not taking her eyes off the television.
“Why do you like these movies?” He questioned since he didn’t like any film that involves love.
“It’s thrilling, their male actors are so handsome and the females pretty” Ariana replied with a giggle.
“So are you. You’re way prettier than some of the actresses” Donald said and she looked at him with her large brown eyes.
Austin who just came out of the kitchen coughed slightly making Ariana turn her gaze back to the screen.
“You know, if you wanna meet a Korean celebrity, I could help you” Donald said and Ariana’s face gleamed with excitement.
“How would you do that?” She asked with her voice full of hope.
“I know someone who knows the BTS and also a few actresses and actors since he once studied in Seoul” Donald said and Ariana turned to face Austin with puppy eyes.
“Whoo please. Please” She pleaded as she thought of her dream of meeting her crush.
“Brooklyn, he studied the for a year or two. It’s evident he’s close to the BTS since they take pictures together” Donald said and Ariana was stunned.
Never would she think the Brooklyn who helps her would know a lot of celebrities.
“Brooklyn has disclosed that he would invite the BTS to attend his birthday” Donald continued.
“How do you know these things?” Austin asked getting furious.
“Don’t give me that look, man, you know I bugged my sister’s phone and all they talk about is BTS and some other gibberish I can’t recall” Donald said with a smirk and Austin tried to watch the annoying film his maid likes.
