Ella’s point of view
I walked to the rooftop of the school where Chad had been waiting for me.
“What took you so long?” He said as he kissed me and I responded reluctantly.
“Don’t give me that look, I have news that’ll interest you” Chad said holding my face.
“Spill it” I said, not amused with any of his jokes.
“Look who your boyfriend is hitting on now” He said and passed his phone to me.
I gasped when I saw a picture of the commoner and Brooklyn. Not only was she wearing his shirt but he opened the door of his car for her.
Scrolling, I saw more pictures of her coming out of his car, dressed in new clothes. That bastard.
Chad watched with a smile as I fumed with anger. “After school, your place” Chad said as he spanked my ass and left without his phone.
I didn’t know what to do. Should I confront Brooklyn or just scare her away?. Bringing out my phone, I called Shantel, my best friend and told her to meet me on the rooftop.
“Hey, babe what’re you doing here And why the sad face?” Shantel said when she got to where I was.
“Take a look at this” I muttered passing the phone to her.
“What the hell!!” Shantel let out looking at the picture.
“Damn that commoner” Shantel cursed as she continued scrolling.
“I’m so mad at Brooklyn. Of all the bitches in this school, he chose that lowlife” I said fuming with rage.
“I know what we can do” Shantel said with a mischievous smile.
ARIANA
I got to the class and walked past those who stared at me awkwardly.
I sat down and saw Dave beside me. “Hey, you look gorgeous” Dave said as he looked at my face.
“Thank you” I declared as I blushed.
A teacher came into the class making everyone go back to their seats.
“Ariana scored the highest in the assignments” Miss Williams said making everyone look at me with hate.
“Barbie, Ava and Mia, why not take extra lessons or ask Ariana to assist you with your mathematics?” Miss Williams asked and a few hide their faces as they laughed.
Miss Williams handed the books to the class rep, Juliet, and left as Juliet distributed them.
“Where the hell did you get this dress from?” Mia asked taking my notebook.
“Give it back” I said.
“That’s not the answer I was expecting” Mia said handing the book to Barbie.
“Who dressed this duckling?. Even with an expensive dress, you look terrible” Barbie insulted me opening my notebook.
“An A+ not bad” Ava said.
”And where were you?” Barbie asked throwing the book at me.
I kept quiet, infuriating Barbie the more.
”Playing dumb huh?” Ava said holding my jaw and I removed her hand forcefully making her wince a little.
“Let her be Ava, you’ll get your hands infected” Barbie replied before striding to her seat.
The day went by fast with teachers coming during their periods and everyone getting excited for the weekend.
I also am excited, since I would visit dad and Charlotte.
The bell was rung and Barbie announced that her sister’s party would be held at Brooklyn’s house.
I wondered why the party would be thrown there but shrugged it off.
“Bye Ariana, have a lovely weekend” Dave said as he took his backpack and left.
I went to the bus stop and waited for some minutes before a car halted at my front. I was surprised.
“Get in, I’ll give you a ride” Dave said after he lowered the window.
“No, thank you” I declined to get, an ”oh oh”. From his friends in the car.
“You sure?. I don’t mind though” Dave cajoled and I nodded my head and he left speeding off.
Within a few minutes, the bus arrived and I walked inside.
When I got home, I strode inside and found no one at home. Well, I wasn’t surprised.
I went to take my bath, then made lunch and left after writing a letter.
Austin
Waking up, I had my bath and was having breakfast when Ariana walked past me wearing her old clothes.
“Why aren’t you wearing the clothes I bought?” I asked.
“Sir the gowns are too short and the jeans are skinny” She muttered and left after I nodded.
I couldn’t understand the feeling of being hurt that overwhelmed me.
But that’s what most girls wear at school, should I ask Donald for help or just get new ones.
My eyes gleamed with joy when I thought of a new idea to make her wear the clothes.
Laughing mischievously, I went to her room and took out all her old clothes. I searched for any valuables and found some money.
I put her money and phone together and took the clothes to the garden.
I used fuel and a match stick to burn the clothes.
I dressed and went to school, I ignored most girls who tried to talk to me and walked to my office.
Looking at the sun from my window, I lowered my gaze and was surprised to see Ariana putting on a different shirt.
This wasn’t the one she wore when she left the house.
She entered Brooklyn’s car and they left the school.
“What is he up to?” I asked feeling furious for no particular reason.
Staying in my office, I was both eager and anxious for them to get back.
I walked hastily to the window when I saw a little reflection. I saw Ariana coming out of Brooklyn’s car in a different dress.
Looking at her figure, I forgot about Brooklyn and started at her pretty look. He held her cheek and I felt a cold feeling inside me.
“How dare Brooklyn touch her?” I thought with rage as I used my hand to scatter the files on my table.
Candy walked inside and was surprised to see my office.
“What’s wrong with you?” She asks holding my arm.
“Leave this office now!!” I shouted and she shivered.
“No Austin, I can’t leave you this way. You could get yourself hurt” She said trying to hold my face but I pushed her away and teleported to a forest.
I changed into my wolf form and was roaming the forest when I heard a loud noise.
I ran towards the noise, in case a human is in danger, I saw a Hunter who seemed drunk.
He staggered around slowly, holding a bottle of vodka and his gun in his hands. He cursed angrily.
“Fuck all those damned wolves, fuck all the demons, screw everyone” He cursed and he sat on the ground with a loud thud.
He saw me, and his eyes widened with excitement. He put bullets in his gun and cocked his gun at me.
I tried to escape, but he was fast enough to shoot my paws.
The sight of my blood made my insides boil with rage. With a roar, I used my claws to scratch his arm, making the gun drop.
Running away, I changed to my human form and teleported to the house.
“Ariana … Ariana” I screamed holding my hand which was losing blood.
I went to the kitchen, used a knife to remove the bullet and my head became all mushy.
I felt the room spinning, he must have used a tranquillizer. And before I could think anymore, I blacked out.
ARIANA
Going to visit dad first, I was surprised to see him on the floor, with blood on his arm when I opened the door.
I ran to get a piece of cloth and disinfectant.
“How did you get injured?” I asked as I cleaned his wound. I smelled alcohol on his body but wasn’t concerned about it.
“It was … a wo… wolf” He said and he coughed.
“Dad you’ve been drinking” I said with anger. The drink must have let him do something stupid.
“I’m so… sorry, I’m such a disgrace to you child” He said and coughed vigorously.
I ran to the kitchen and got water. The cup fell from my hand when I saw dad coughing out blood.
With panic, I kneeled at his side and used my strength to lift him and being skinny it wasn’t very hard.
I carried him out and stopped a taxi which took me to the closest hospital.
I ran inside and got a nurse who brought a stretcher and dad was taken inside.
I paid the driver and went inside.
After what seemed like 2 hours, the doctor came out and asked me to follow him to his office.
“Young lady, are you related to that man?” He asked after I sat down.
“Yes, he’s my dad” I answered hastily feeling panic.
“Oh, then I’m sorry to announce that he has less than two weeks to live. And he needs to take drugs every day or he could die in two or their days. His liver is badly damaged” The doctor said calmly.
Hearing those words my whole world shattered.
I woke up and could smell antiseptic, I looked around and saw white cotton with a drip attached to my hand.
I remembered the words the doctor told me and sat up immediately, I was trying to remove the drip when the doctor came inside.
“What are you trying to do?” He asked as he tried to lay my head on the pillow.
“I have to see my dad” I said sensing a terrible feeling that he might be dead.
“Calm down young lady, he’s unconscious for now and if he wakes up, he’ll need his drugs” The doctor reminded making me feel relieved and pained again.
“How much does the drug costs?” I asked and laid on the bed well.
“Each tablet costs 23 thousand dollars and he needs two each day” The doctor replied making me wish I was still unconscious.
“Can I get discharged now?” I asked with several thoughts in my head.
“Yea but you’ll need to fill some documents” The doctor said and he handed my bag to me.
The drop was removed and I called Austin, the phone rang but he didn’t pick up his calls.
I went to the reception and filled out a form.
I took a cab to the house and walked inside.
How do I tell him I need the money, should I ask for salary in advance or what?.
I was frightened when I saw him on the floor with blood on his plan and a knife on the floor.
Would he try to kill himself?.
I ran to the kitchen and got water. I sprinkled a few drops on his face and he woke up slowly.
With my help, he walked and sat on the couch.
I used the knife to cut a piece of my gown and tired his palm since he was too weak to tell me where the first aid is.
I led him outside and we walked on the road till we saw a taxi.
I order a taxi to take us to the hospital dad was admitted.
When we got there, the nurses assisted in helping him inside as they stared at his handsome face.
A few minutes later, the doctor came out of Austim’s ward.
“What’s wrong with him doctor?” I asked as I ran after the doctor.
“Nothing much, he’s lost a lot of blood and there seems to be a hole in his palm but luckily we can’t find any bullet” The doctor concluded.
“Is he awake?” I inquired eagerly to meet him.
AUSTIN
I opened my eyes and found Ariana tending to my wound, I couldn’t utter words though I had so much to ask.
She took me to a hospital and the nurses less me to the ward.
“He looks so handsome” I heard the first blonde nurse say.
“Just don’t say that when he’s awake or in front of his girlfriend” The second one whose face I couldn’t see replied.
“How do you know he has a girlfriend?” The blonde asked.
“The lady who brought her dying father is also the one who brought him here” The second nurse answered whispering.
“Poor girl, her father would die soon and her boyfriend is injured” The blonde said and I wondered if Ariana’s dad would die soon.
She could have informed me earlier and I’d gotten the best doctor to help prolong his life.
Being satisfied with their gossip I coughed quietly making them go silent.
“Ar… ar… Ariana” I called in a frail voice and the blonde scurried to call the doctor.
The doctor came in and checked my temperature, checked the blood bag which was connected to my hand.
He asked a few questions about how I felt. I answered immediately not wanting to spend extra time since I hated the hospital.
“Doctor when would I get discharged?” I raised a question.
”Very soon” The doctor admitted.
“Could you please send Ariana in?” I asked and the doctor nodded before leaving.
Ariana entered with a smile on her lips though her eyes looked swollen and red.
“How do you feel sir?” She asked sitting at my bedside.
“I’m okay” I replied sitting up, silence descended and if a needle dropped its sound would be deafening.
“Thank you for saving my life” I was about making but she burst into tears.
“I’m so sorry sir but my dad is sick and I need money to take care of him. I wouldn’t mind working for a year or two” Ariana said with tears coming out of her red eyes.
“Don’t cry, I’ll finance it all” I said as I touched her soft silky hair with my good palm.
“I’m indebted to you sir, I promise to pay back all my debts” She cried the more making my heart feel like it was being suppressed.
The nurse came in later and a bill was handed to Ariana.
Her eyes widened in shock as she read it.
I collected the bill and searched for my credit card in my pants pocket.
After a few seconds, I found it and handed it over to the nurse who requested my pin and the transaction was over.
Ariana out of joy rose and hugged me tightly pressing her ample breasts on my chest, making my thoughts run wild.
I was discharged an hour later and I went with Ariana to see her dad.
ARIANA
After Austin was discharged, he insisted on seeing my dad. After paying for ten tablets, I can’t appreciate his kindness.
Nobody would be willing to lend me such a huge amount of money.
We went to dad’s ward. A bandage was wrapped around his arm and a drip was connected to his bed.
Dad lay awake and his eyes beamed when I entered.
“Dad, this is my boss and sir, my dad” I introduced and dad smiled broadly for the first time in years.
Turning to look at Austin, I saw him stiff and starting at dad with rage.
I don’t think they’ve met before.
“Is this your dad?” He asks coldly and I was confused. I nodded my head.
“No, it can’t be” I heard him mutter making me more worried.
“You son of a bitch, why did you try to kill me. Was it Dracula who sent you?” Austin asked holding dad’s neck.
With a gasp, I ran to where he was and tried to remove his hand. His eyes were light blue and his hands very cold.
How did it turn cold instantly?.
“Please don’t arm my dad, he would never hurt anybody!” I shouted holding his cold hand and he released dad’s neck.
“Are you sure. Then why did he try to kill me in the forest . Are you a demon or vampire?. Why did he back off when I used my claws to injure his arm?” Austin asked making dad go rigid with fear.
“There’s a mix up. My dad would hunt drunk but never mistake a human for an animal. Someone else must be after your life!” I yelled wanting him to believe me.
“You’re a wolf?” Dad blurted out making me angry. I was trying to clear the mix-up but he talking about wolves.
“Dad please stop all these tales of seeing a wolf kill mom. Please I’m losing my mind with all these thoughts” I shouted angrily
“No daughter I’m sober, I told you wolves do exist and they killed your mom” Dad said and I hardened with realisation.
That’s how Austin changes his eye colour. He walks without being heard, he hates being around people.
Turning around, I glanced at Austin who had an unreadable expression.
Choking on a sob, I ran out of the hospital, as fast as my legs could carry me.
