She nodded once and Alex attacked her lips as though he had been waiting for this all his life. Ava moved along and together, they explored the beauty hidden in their tongues. Instinctively, Alex’s hands roamed up and stopped right below her breasts. It was as if he was waiting for some sort of reaction on Ava’s part but she on the other hand, seemed to be lost in the kiss. Alex’s hands moved up further and he started to caress her breasts through the thin linen of T-shirt she wore. Ava moaned softly at that. Alex took that as an approval and sneaked a hand under her shirt to grab one soft breast. Ava gasped at the contact and came back to her senses immediately.
She staggered back, her face flushed from the kiss.
” I… I think I need to go to bed ” She said shakily while avoiding making eye contact with him.
Alex nodded reluctantly, he didn’t want her to leave. Heck, after the kiss they shared, he didn’t want to let her out of his sight again. He wanted them to talk about it. He wanted some sort of reassurance that it was what they both wanted and the kiss wasn’t forced, but seeing her expression right now, he decided to let it go for now. They could always talk about it later.
He backed away too ” Alright, sleep tight ” He said softly, and tilted his head to stare at her but Ava wasn’t giving him chance to because she kept her head down.
” Yeah ” She said hoarsely and started walking towards the direction of her room. Her legs were shaking as she climbed the stairs but she managed to do that without falling. She didn’t look back once but she could still feel his eyes on her until she was out of sight.
She got to her room and opened the door with shaky hands. The room was dark but that was the least of her problems now. She heaved a sigh of relief and made her way to her bed. She slumped onto it and closed her eyes to calm her mind but what happened next was the exact opposite of what she wanted. Everything that happened right from the minute Alex came back from work kept replaying in her mind. He took her first kiss. She had not imagined her first kiss to happen that way. All her life, she had imagined a light, sweet kiss by her knight in shining armor. But it seemed nature didn’t agree to that because Alex’s kiss was anything but light. The man had practically raped her lips as though he had been starved of it. Strangely enough, she enjoyed every bit of the kiss they shared.
” He kissed me ” She mumbled mindlessly and traced her lower lip with a finger while she stared into space. No dummy, you both shared the kiss, you wanted it too so don’t pin the blame on him, her little lady butted in as usual.
Ava rolled her eyes and decided to ignore her as that would only fuel whatever contribution she had left.
” Okayy, back to business ” Ava thought aloud and gave her little lady one more eye roll before her thoughts drifted off to a particular arrogant guy who turned out to be her boss.

Alex was in a similar situation too, he couldn’t get her out of his mind as he undressed for bed. What was it about this girl that drove him crazy so much? He asked himself. Sure she was beautiful, but what he felt was beyond physical attraction. He always felt an electrifying sensation whenever he was around her. Did she feel the same way? He asked himself and answered his own question. Of course she should, he shouldn’t be the only one in this… Mess. Yes, mess. That’s the perfect word. She seemed to have been watching him for a while for her to notice that he had been avoiding her. Deep down, he felt a surge of happiness coursed through him at the thought of him being in her mind at all.
” Ugh… Come off it Alexander, she’s just a babysitter, your babysitter ” He scolded himself aloud. But deep down, he knew the feisty lady was more than a babysitter to him. He replayed the whole incident that happened tonight and drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, Ava did her best to avoid Alex as she went about her chores discreetly only to enter the kitchen and have Maggie told her that Alex left the house as early as as 6am. On hearing that, Ava was a little surprised and disappointed. Although she wanted to avoid him, that didn’t erase the fact that she was also eager to see him this morning. Did he regret what happened? Was that why he left for work early because he also wanted avoid her? No no, that couldn’t have been the reason, could it? She shrugged off the disturbing thoughts and took her bath before preparing to go do some grocery shopping.
” I’m off to the grocery store, Maggie! ” Ava shouted loud enough for Maggie to hear her clearly.
Maggie peered out her head from the kitchen but found no traces of Ava. Then she walked out the main door and saw that Ava had already engaged herself in a conversation with the gardener.
” Oh there you are! ” Maggie spoke, which made both heads turned in her direction.
Ava smiled instantly ” Yup ” She replied, popping the ” P “.
Dave the gardener, said Hi but Maggie noticed the guy’s smile faltered a little when she showed up. It was obvious he had been enjoying the chit chat before she appeared. Poor Dave, Maggie thought and sighed. It was obvious that he had a thing for Ava but she was sure Ava was too blind to notice.
She turned to Ava ” I wanted to ask you to buy me some chicken nuggets ”
Ava nodded ” Sure, I’ll get ’em for you ” And to Dave, she said ” Okayy Dave, I got to go now. I’ll see ya later ” And with a wave, she was gone. Dave excused himself shortly after and took his leave too.
