Chapter 25 – Catfight

Lemon woke up to the alarm. It was 6 in the morning. As usual, she looked for her phone to see if there were notifications. But there’s nothing there.
She walked to her bathroom to prepare for school. When Lemon went to the dining room, Tori and Dahlia were already there. They’re busy having breakfast and going through some designs as well.
“Good morning, mom,” she greeted before kissing her cheek. She did the same for Dahlia before she sat down.
“Is Kale still asleep?” I nodded, and she stood up. “I’ll just go wake him up.”
“Mom…” Lemon called, and Tori looked at her with narrowed eyes. “Rawbin is now my boyfriend,” she told her, smiling.
She quickly smiled and reached out for her daughter’s hand, “Congratulations then, fille! You now have your first boyfriend. Now you have to be careful, okay? Don’t forget the limits,” she reminded.
Lemon nodded at her. She perfectly understood what her mother meant. Besides, she knows her limits too. Even when they were still in France, she already enumerated them to me so she won’t be able to forget them.
She was almost finished with her food when Kale came down. He didn’t bother sitting at the table. He just prepared a sandwich for himself instead.
They reached the school 45 minutes before the first bell. But they decided to go straight to their classroom.
She was busy talking to Kale on their way up when someone bumped into her, and she lost her balance. Lemon felt cold as they were on the stairs.
She was sure that she was about to roll down the stairs. But someone caught her from behind. It was Drew.
When she looked at him, a glint of anger was evident in his eyes as he glared at Tanya. Lemon suddenly felt scared for the woman, but she was furious too.
Turning her attention back to Drew, she wanted to thank him, but he just walked passed her. She wanted to go after him, but she had to stop Kale.
“What is your problem?” he yelled at the culprit. Tanya simply crossed her arms and shot her brows up. “Don’t play dumb with me!” he snapped.
“Oh! Sorry, I didn’t know you were talking to me,” then she let out a chuckle. “Are you her bodyguard or something? Why are you the one coming back at me?”
“You wouldn’t like it if she confronted you,” Kale sneered. Lemon didn’t know if he was aware she was right behind him, so she just pulled him away.
“Enough,” she whispered, but he just brushed her off.
“Don’t ‘enough’ me, Leslie Monica,” he yelled as he waved a hand at her. Lemon can tell he’s furious, and she can’t blame him. “What if Drew wasn’t there? God knows what could have happened!”
“But thank God Drew’s there. So enough,” she told him, but he just ignored her.
Instead, he pushed Tanya by the shoulder, and that obviously shocked her. “Just tell us what you want. Don’t be a backstabber!” he yelled at her.
“I don’t know what’s your problem, but if I were you, I’d stay out of this since it’s none of your business,” Tanya retaliated. Lemon thought it was over, but Tanya walked towards her.
She grabbed Lemon by the arm and pulled her closer. “And you, if you’re itching, find someone else to scratch it for you, not Rawbin!” she said through gritted teeth.
Lemon felt her blood rush to her head. Her vision darkens. ‘She’s implying that I flirted with Rawbin? Was that it?’
But even before she could ask her, Lemon’s hand flew on Tanya’s face. Even Kale was surprised by what she did.
“Next time, wash your mouth. It’s full of shit!” She hissed without breaking her stare. She looked so small that if she flicked her, she’d probably end up in some unknown place.
Tanya was holding on to her cheek, and Lemon could see how it turned red with the mark of her hand. When she recovered, she rushed to her and pulled Lemon’s hair. Even her friends helped her out.
Tanya’s pulling her hair, someone hit her back, and another one’s scratching her arms. She can hear Kale yelling, and Lemon knows she must stop.
Not because she’s afraid of Tanya, but because she’s scared Kale won’t be able to stop himself and he might hurt the girls. He’s still a guy, after all.
She’s also scared for herself. She knows if she lost control, it wouldn’t be good for Tanya. That’s the last thing she’d want to happen.
She tried her best to push Tanya away so she could let go of her hair, but the girl was persistent. Lemon lowered her stance before pulling her down and hitting Tanya’s face with her knee, causing her to let go.
When they separated, Tanya’s nose was bleeding. Her friends who joined in were now in a panic, not knowing what to do with her.
“Shit, you’re bleeding,” Lulu stated, and when Tanya touched her nose, she turned pale when she saw blood.
“Let’s go to the clinic,” Rose said, then she tried to help her.
But Tanya’s determined to look for trouble. She pushed her friends away and started charging at Lemon again. But before she could even reach her, someone pulled Tanya away.
Although she didn’t see his face, she knew who the guy who pulled Tanya was. Yet again, it’s Drew. He saved her again, for the second time today.
Because of what happened, they decided not to attend their first two subjects. Kale and Lemon went to the clinic to have her checked. When it was over, they headed to their hangout spot.
They were sitting on the bench when someone called them. It was Kevz, Roj, and Homme, and they were all trying to catch their breath as they approached them.
“What the fuck happened to you?” Kevz asked in an angry tone. Despite that, he looked worried. He lifted Lemon’s chin to check her face and saw the wound on the corner of her lips and the scratch on her left jaw.
“Lightly bruised face, scratches on the arms, bruised back, that’s everything that’s happened to her,” Kale informed them with his hands on his waist.
“Why didn’t you help her?” Roj sneered at him.
“Hello!? It’s a fight between girls! And although I don’t want to admit it, I’m still a guy, you know?”
“Let’s go to the clinic,” Homme suggested, trying to pull Lemon up.
“We already went there,” she told him, then he let go of her wrist.
“Tanya did all that? Why didn’t you fight?” Kevz irritatedly asked.
Lemon shook her head, and she grinned, “It’s one versus three!”
“And you still managed to grin?” he scolded.
“Was this because of Rawbin?” Roj asked, and Kale nodded. “Where is he then?”
“I don’t think he knows. Unless he’s already checked his Facebook,” Kale chuckled.
That’s for sure! Someone must have filmed what happened and uploaded it to the SMU Files account.
“Where is Kip?” Lemon asked when she realized the twins were not with them.
“They went to the principal’s office to file a complaint,” Homme answered, and she nodded in understanding.
“Let’s go to the cafeteria!” Kevz pulled her up as he took her bag.
Lemon looked at her watch. It was almost the library period. After that, it was lunch break, so they decided to pass their time at the cafeteria.
