Drew was lost in thoughts and couldn’t even focus on their classes the whole day. Can someone explain how he can think straight when someone ruined his day very early?
If Drew wants to be honest, he’d say he was enraged after seeing those scenes earlier. His blood rushed to his head, but he didn’t know why.
‘It would have been fun if Leslie came alone, but Rawbin showed up. Worse, they held hands when the guy dropped her in the classroom.’
‘Rawbin looked so stupid with the way he smiled. What was more annoying was the fact that they even talked about it. Why do they have to?!’
‘I don’t know what’s the big deal with what happened. I guess it’s just hard when you have friends that are gossipmongers. You can’t just avoid it.’
‘Okay, Drew, calm down. But do I really like her? Or do I only want to protect her from my cousins and playboys like Rawbin? What if that was it? Maybe I’m just confused with my feelings.’
After class, Drew quickly left the classroom and headed to the gym. Drew saw Rawbin when he stepped out. He was Rawbin leaning by the railings with a broad smile painted on his face.
When Drew looked back, Leslie was already there, smiling sweetly at him. Again, Drew felt outraged. So instead of going to the gym, he went to the studio.
He texted Kip to help him inform their coach that he won’t be able to attend practice as he was not feeling well. He was certain Kip could deal with that for him.
When he got to the studio, he plopped on the couch and closed his eyes. He doesn’t even know if he fell asleep or if his mind flew somewhere else.
After a while, he seemed to have come back to his senses. When he checked the time, it was already past five in the afternoon. There’s also someone else at the studio.
“H-Hi… Did I wake you up?” His eyes automatically flew open when he heard that voice. He didn’t even notice when she arrived.
“It’s alright! I’m up anyway. Where are they?” He asked, confused that there was no one else aside from the two of them.
“Varsity practice extended until 6:30. Kale took Kellen home because she’s not feeling well,” she explained as she picked up the guitar and sat on the stool near the door.
“Have you eaten dinner?” Drew asked when he heard his stomach grumble.
Lemon shook her head as she pouted, “Not yet. I’m hungry too,” she complained.
‘Why is she so cute? No, Leslie’s not just cute. She’s gorgeous. She has this beauty that can magnetize you. Okay, Drew, focus on your hunger!’
“I’ll just have something delivered. I’m hungry too,” Lemon nodded while Drew stepped out of the studio to make a call. When he came back, she was already playing the guitar and singing.
She glanced and smiled at him when he passed by, heading to the kitchen. Lemon continued playing the guitar. Meanwhile, Drew leaned on the sink after drinking, watching her.
There’s a foreign feeling inside him. Something that he doesn’t usually feel. Especially when he looks at a girl or when with a girl.
While he watches her, Drew feels the urge to go over and hug her. She just looked so beautiful, so fragile.
After a while, Guido called him. The food he ordered arrived, so he quickly came out to pay for it. When he came back, Lemon was already prepping the table.
Plates were already on the table with the utensils. Drew helped her transfer their food to the bowls. Then they sat down to eat.
“Do you eat this?” Drew pointed at the pork blood stew in front of her.
“Of course!”
“So you’re not picky when it comes to food?”
“Not really. But I don’t like any sort of food that’s oily or greasy,” Lemon grinned.
“You don’t eat food like that?”
“I do, sometimes, as long as it won’t get to my hand,” smiling sheepishly. “I really feel uncomfortable when my hands don’t feel normal, especially my feet,” Lemon added.
Drew wanted to laugh at her statement as it sounded more like a joke. Not to brag or anything, but Drew’s been with lots of girls. Most of the time, they complain about their oily faces. ‘Isn’t that the norm?’
They don’t like it when their face or neck gets sweaty. They don’t like it when their face and neck are oil. Everyone Drew knows is concerned about their faces, but Leslie’s more concerned with her hands and feet.
Drew leaned back to look at her feet secretly. Her hands look good. She has slender fingers and nails cut to just the right length. It doesn’t have any nail polish either, but it’s clean.
But he was in awe when he saw her feet. It’s comparable to Cinderella’s. He’s seen lots of girls’ feet, tons of them. But of all those feet, Drew found hers the most beautiful.
Lemon’s feet are small and slender. Her toe fingers have a beautiful shape, and the sides are reddish. It’s like she’s been taking care of them all her life. Her soles might be softer and smoother than his palms.
“Why aren’t you singing, Drew?” she asked out of nowhere.
“Huh?” Drew was caught unaware.
“I’ve heard you sing. You have a good and unique voice. Why didn’t you take over the position of vocalist?”
“Because they’d lose their handsome drummer!”
“Woah! Did you feel that strong wind?” she blurted out as she looked around. Drew shook his head at her silliness. He didn’t know she had this side to her. “But seriously, why don’t you want to front?”
“I don’t know. I don’t like it. When I joined the band, Kip and I agreed that I’d quit if they forced me to sing,” and Lemon nodded.
“That’s a wasted talent! I bet more girls will swoon over the band when they hear you sing,” she said with assurance.
Drew looked at her with his brows knitted. ‘Then why is she not swooning over me? She already heard me sing, didn’t she?’
He wanted to laugh at his thought. ‘What if you’re not his type, Drew? Dream on!’ “Really?” He asked so he could give her a reaction.
“Yeah! You have the face and a good build. You’re a varsity, and you’re smart. You’re part of a band. You’re a total package. What more if you’re the vocalist?” she then looked at him, and he automatically bowed his head.
Drew felt like his face was all red because of the compliments she rained on him. ‘Calm down, Drew, you’re overreacting! She’s just being nice to you!’
He let out a soft sigh as he continued eating. He felt high after all the praises, and that left him speechless.
When they finished eating, he helped her clean up. After that, she excused herself and walked around the yard as she was too full. After a while, he grabbed the guitar and started playing a random song.
‘I don’t know but ~ I think I maybe~’
Right after Drew sang the chorus, Leslie went back inside and sat on the stool next to him. “What was that song?” she asked.
“Fallin’ for you,” he answered, quickly blushing inside.
“Artist?”
“Colbie Caillat. Why?”
“Nothing, I just like it,” she answered, smiling as she looked at her phone. “Can you play it again?”
Drew saw the lyrics displayed on the screen of her phone, and it made him smile for an unknown reason. He started strumming, and she sang along.
She smiled while singing, and they even ended the duet with a high five. That was the scene their bandmates saw when they got to the studio.
“I thought you were not feeling well?” Roj asked as soon as he saw Drew. Leslie’s eyes flew to him and her forehead creased.
“You’re sick?” her voice was obviously worried.
“Not really, I’m fine,” he answered as he tapped her knee and put down the guitar.
“You should have told me. I shouldn’t have disturbed you,” Lemon was sincere when she said that, and Drew could see the trace of worry and sadness in her eyes.
“I’m fine. Don’t worry!” Lemon was hesitant, but she nodded eventually before turning to their friends.
“Where’s Rawbin?” She asked Kippler and Drew suddenly felt dejected.
“He’s talking to someone over the phone,” Kippler responded as he gestured outside, and Lemon quickly headed out.
Clicking his tongue while rubbing his chin, Kevz kept stealing glances at Drew, “We shouldn’t have come here yet,” he said.
“Why?” Homme asked.
“Because Drew was having his moment,” letting out a hearty laugh, he immediately hid behind Homme to dodge the pillow Drew was about to throw.
“Enough with your silliness,” he called him off.
“Yeah, yeah! You’ll fall soon, Drew Reagan, and I’m sure it’ll be hard,” he whispered.
‘But what if I’m really starting to fall for her? Let’s wait and see.’
