Epilogue Book 1
Zoey’s POV
I stare at the mirror to adjust my hair, and I use this moment to remember how things have been for the past few days…
I was so happy to see Nova soundly breathing on her mattress. It was hard for her to believe she was in a coma for the past twenty years. We moved her home, actually she had to stay with Mrs Simon, who is Calvin’s mom. I went back to my apartment to prepare for my graduation and other stuff… Mr President, Calvin’s dad, took down the marriage contract Mr and Mrs Wester were planning to force on me. It took days before everything got settled.
The feeling of seeing your college egocentric prince on his knees begging for forgiveness on his parents behalf made my heart ache at the sight. Somehow, I saw how Nova kept staring at him but Landon wasn’t giving her any glance at that moment. With my pleas everything was settled. At first, the president wanted them down to the drain. It would be so shameful if the Wester name disappeared overnight. Calvin and Karen almost got into a fight… Of course, there will be a misunderstanding. Karen’s wife is from Wester. And Calvin was furious at Mrs Wester, she was the master plan of everything.
Thankfully, Ivy knew nothing about it, if not it would have made Karen angry. Nova came to me one of these days, it was a day to my graduation when she approached.
“Can I come in? ” She knocked on my door that was wide open.
“Yeah, you can come in. ” I responded with a smile on my lips. I tapped on the empty space beside me. She sat on my bed and I looked at her eagerly.
“Tomorrow is your graduation. ” She mumbled and I nodded. I knew she wasn’t to ask something. Nova she’s the opposite of me outside. She’s an ambivert, but she’s always shy.
“Do you want to tell me something? ” I asked and took her hands into mine.
“Will you tag me along tomorrow? ” She asked with her eyes on mine.
“My graduation? ” I asked and she nodded.
“Yeah. You will be coming along. I paused to study her reaction. Do you want to stay at home? ” I asked and she was really fast with her reply.
“No no. I’m coming with you. ” She rushed, almost biting her lips. Her actions made me look at her for seconds.
“Is there something you aren’t telling? ” I asked but she shook her head negatively.
“Okay. ” I hummed with a suspicious smile on my lips. I watched her till she disappeared through the door.
“Nova likes Landon… ” Cali mumbled as she came out of the bathroom.
“Serious? ” I asked, almost screaming.
“Ssshhhh!!!! ” Cali placed her index finger on her lips.
“Nova can’t be in love with him. ” I pouted, feeling bad.
“Landon isn’t a bad guy. He’s just too arrogant, snobbish, naughty and lastly he’s a playboy. At first, the twins and I thought you will be able to tame him—”
“Tame that egocentric millionaire?? “I scoffed, rolling my eyes at her.
“But I think he’s not the right person for you but for Nova. Nova told me she likes him but she’s scared to tell you. ”
“She should be. But it’s unfair, it’s my younger sister we are talking about… I’m scared of what Landon will do to her. ” Zoey pouted…
“He wouldn’t want to hurt her. Nova’s sister is actually a rich model and an upcoming artist… ” Cali pushed her shoulder backwards and she laughed.
“Jenna will be here tomorrow? ” I uttered to Cali and she nodded while walking out of the room. Jenna came back to apologize, it was a hot moment when she walked in. Calvin had the dogs chase her away. Till date, he thinks she’s responsible for my trauma…. The scary scene couldn’t wipe me off my head.
Have forgiven her but it’s not something I can forget easily. I truly admit she’s responsible for the event but it wasn’t her fault… But it’s all in the past. I made Calvin release Earl and Damien to the police officers…. They looked dead but still breathing… What else can I ask for? I have Calvin, Nova, my younger sister, Cali, Jemma, the president and his wife. I am Karen, my brother and his wife Ivy. I have Austin, Ayden and Miranda (Ivy and Karen’s daughter).
Landon does visit once in a while and Camila.. She has been friends with Nova but Nova is four years older than her. Camila is just sixteen but she shares the same body shape with Nova. I heard he has an elder brother but I haven’t seen him.
Cali told me about a rude young man that found it difficult to apologize for his mistake after his driver splashed dirty water on her that day. But sincerely, the guy did his best but Cali lash out the anger of Jemma’s nonchalant attitude that day on him. I just make sure she won’t use another discussion to tie me down, so I excuse myself from the conversation.
“Zoey. ” I heard my name, which pulled me back to reality. I look straight to the mirror and a smile escapes my lips. He wrapped his arms around my flat tummy with his head on my neck.
“What are you thinking about? ” He asked, staring at my face from the mirror.
“Nothing. ” I hummed and he planted a warm kiss on my neck.
“You will be called soon. Best graduating student in the business department. Calvin uttered and I smiled at him.
“Are you nervous? ” He asked me and shook my head.
“Let’s go baby. ” He uttered not after squeezing my breast.

I walk out of the restroom with Calvin beside me. And I saw it. Nova was seriously flirting with Landon who didn’t even spare her a glance….
“Zoey Diwali—-”
“She’s Zoey Simon… ” Calvin interrupted the MC.
“Okay sir… ” I shook my head at him and he smiled. I walk to the podium to collect my certificate. Heaven knows I wasn’t giving full attention to what was going on right around me but my eyes were on Nova. Finally, Landon gave her a reply and they seemed to be getting along.

The day went fine and cool. I sat with everyone but Jenna had gone home. Since Calvin didn’t want to see her around. Cali, Austin, Ayden, Calvin and I sat around the dining table with Mr and Mrs Simon.
“Are you having any morning sickness, Zoey? ” Mrs Simon asked in between their cool conversation.
“No mom. ” I replied simply. I saw how her mood changed from a happy facial expression to a sad one.
“Mom wants you pregnant… ” Calvin whispered in my ear and laughed out…
“I missed my period already. ” I mumbled and I heard their cutlery drop on their breakable plates.
“But I haven’t seen anything yet…. And I’m not feeling weird either—
“Should I prepare a doctor to check up on you tomorrow? ” Calvin asked worriedly and I smiled…
“I’m fine, I will wait for another week to check if it’s planning to change the date. ” I replied and he nodded. Cali was just staring at me and she chuckled.
“I can’t believe my shy best friend is pregnant. . ” She said and I rolled my eyes at her.
“I’m not sure yet. ” I scoffed but she smiled. I felt like throwing up the meat I just bit on. But I forced it back…
Not long after finishing dinner. Immediately I stood up and I threw up instantly…
“Zoey is pregnant… ” Mrs Simon screamed and she jumped up despite having aged a little.
“I’m not pregnant, Mom. ” I pouted and stared at how the maids mop away my irritating vomit.
“I pray it’s a pregnancy. I love you Zoey. ” Calvin mumbled and wrapped his arms around me.
“Look at mom, she’s dancing around happily…. ” He mumbled and I used that moment to look at how happy his mom was. Her smile melted my heart softly and I relaxed in Calvin’s arms. While he kissed my face over and over again…
