Karen packs his car in front of Zoey’s apartment to get Cali. Meanwhile, Cali heard a car pulling over, right in front of their gate. Cali dropped her laptop on the chair and pulled the curtain to have a view of who that person could be.
“Cali. ” She had him call out her name and she was stunned. She decided to open the door and know what the young man was doing in front of her gate.
“How may I help you? ” Cali asked responsibly.
“Come on, get dressed. Karen uttered and she laughed, a sarcastic laughter.
“I think you are in the wrong building sir. ” She informed me politely, and tried to close the door when his statement made her stop instantly.
“I’m Cali’s secret admirer. ” He uttered, standing like the CEO he is.
“You are joking right. ” She laughed…. Because she could vividly remember when Calvin said he’s the secret admirer in Zoey’s ward, right in the hospital. So who is this gentle man? ” Questions raised in her head.
“Can I come in? ” Karen asked and she gasped with a continuous nod. The two sat quietly, Cali cleared her throat and he smiled.
“You look so much like Ayden. ” Karen smiled and her facial expression was perplexed.
“You know my brothers??? ” She asked curiously and he nodded.
“Including Calvin? ” She asked and he smiled with a slight nod. She gasped, staring at with a confused expression on her face.
“I’m Zoey’s brother and—
“You are what? She interrupted with her mouth apart a little.
“I’m Zoey’s elder brother. ”
“You can’t come out of nowhere and claim she’s your sister, thus, she never mentioned having a brother. I think your lies aren’t going to work here. ” She uttered with a cold voice.
“That’s because she lost her memories, her childhood memories. ” Karen was frustrated to spill it, even though he didn’t want her friends to know.
“I guess you have to explain this to me. ” Cali mumbled and sat down.
“As usual, Our mom and dad are addicted to sex, they can’t do without having it four times a day. I was ten when this incident happen—
“What incident? ” She interrupted.
“Fire accident, Zoey was six when it happened and her younger sister (Nova) was three. I was with Zoey in the living room when an electric appliance sparked and it was the carelessness of the cook that forgot to unplug the hot plate from the socket.
Zoey was the first that perceived the weird smell and she informed me of it but the game I was playing didn’t make me consider her words. She left for the stairs to check up on Nova’s room, Incase it might be from her room. She checked her room, same as mine but she didn’t perceive the smell.
She came down the stairs to tell me to stop playing but I didn’t listen. It was when the gas exploded in the kitchen that was steps away from the living room. In a swift of seconds, everywhere was burning. Karen sniffed his nose and he wiped his tears in regrets. I dragged her out of the living room, she hijacked her hand from mine to get herself wet.
The maids rushed out, none of them thought of Nova and she ran inside with her wet clothes. I didn’t know how she did it, it was taking a long time and I rushed inside without getting myself wet but I saw dragging a box, along with Nova in her hands. I rushed to carry Nova from her and she got stuck inside… The fear of losing Zoey gripped my heart.
The securities and the firefighters had everything wet, Zoey was carried out with her eyes shut. Our parents got burnt. Everything was gone–
“But Zoey brought out a box when she came out with Nova… ” Cali asked with tears on her cheeks.
“Yeah, they were Nova’s toys and hers. ” Karen chuckled and Cali was speechless.
“Toys were something important to her then. ” Karen smiled… My dad’s personal assistant embezzled his riches. I had no choice but to give Zoey up to a recognized orphanage home.
“This is too heartbreaking. Cali mumbled, feeling pitiful.
“It’s all in the past, I met Austin when I was bullied by street kids and he helped me… From there everything became better, I was able to sponsor Nova’s health…
“Where’s Nova? ” Cali asked anxiously.
“In coma for the past twenty years… I’m still hoping she gets better. ” Karen uttered and he stood up.
“Get dressed. ” He uttered and she nodded.
“You haven’t told me how you and Calvin are secret admirers. ” She pouted as she turned around.
“I will tell you when we are out here. ” He uttered and she went in.

Cali explained what transpired between her and Jemma. They are on their way to get Jemma along but she was doubting his plans, whether it will work out or not.
“It’s normal to suspect each other. ” Karen chuckled with her eyes fixed on the road.
“But we are friends–
“You were betrayed by her twin sister. There’s no meaning to friendship. ” He uttered and glanced at her.
“Zoey won’t want us apart. We are more like her family. ” Cali pouted and he rolled his eyes.
“She’s still soft and kind. ” He mumbled and his phone vibrated on the dashboard. Cali picked his phone from the dashboard and he gave her a go ahead to pick it.
“We have everything arranged, your private jet ready. ” His male assistant informed and he ended the call. Just when she was about to drop his phone, another call came in. Cali picked it without waiting for his permission.
“Sir, we got Damien but we left the Jenna lady as you said. ” The deep voice said from the other line. Cali wore a questioning expression on her face.
“Was it smooth? ” Karen asked as he maveaured his car around the roundabout.
“Yes sir, there was no CCTV around the area. ” The voice uttered again and Karen nodded his head.
“We are almost close to the cottage warehouse. ” The voice uttered and the call ended from his side.
“What does he mean by Jenna girl? ” Cali asked with a furious look.
“The other guy was abducted according to your brother’s decision and also my decision. So I don’t think you should interfere. Karen replied with a cool voice but in a savage response.
“Oh! She paused. “Wait! Including Ayden! ” She exclaimed.
“No more questions young lady. ” He snapped and she gulped down her words that moment.
“I’m sorry. ” She apologized but he ignored it all. No one talked all through the drive.
