Chapter 24
Brandon was very furious at Harley after discovering the truth behind everything. Why’s Harley just so careless? She only thinks about herself and tries to control other people. Why’s she just so wicked? Brandon didn’t say much but called Harley over the phone, requesting her to come immediately.
He gave Catherina the record of everything Daisy had said since he was recording everything all those whiles. And he needed that as a proof for everybody to believe that Camilla was innocent of the guilt which they’ve accused her of.
Catherina listened to the voice note and was really so Angry at his daughter. “I’m really going to show her a lesson!” When did she even start lying to me?” Catherina snapped out in anger as Brandon told her not to touch her. If she’s looking for someone to blame, then she should blame Harley and also, she was really so selfish to have believed her in the first place and doing everything she had requested for to happen.
“Please don’t touch her”. He shrugged at her again before they walked away. Harley was surprised by Brandon’s unexpected call because she thought that he was angry with her but she guessed wrong. He wasn’t really angry afterwards and it seems like he must have missed her so much which is the reason why he’s requesting her presence.
She was so surprised to find him in the setting room when she entered the house. But his serious look told her that something was wrong but she decided to ignore it.
“Did you call me because you missed me?” She shrugged at him as he stood up and walked towards her. “Cut that nonsense and listen to what I’m going to say”.
He’s making her scared and Frightened with the sound of his tone.
“Whatever evil scheme you’re planning to do, please don’t involve innocent people into it; I can’t believe that at this age, you’re already trying to spoil Daisy with lies and teaching her about what she isn’t supposed to know due to her age.
“What are you really talking about this time around?” She opened up to him, not concerned if he was her boyfriend or they would later break up at this rate. She just wants to speak with him like she does to other people without being scared of the consequences.
“I really don’t understand your point here Brandon!!, Just make sure you know what you’re saying before trying to accuse me”. She Uttered this time around with lots of boldness.
“What’s this?” Brandon questions her after playing the voice note to her.
“I really did admit that but I did nothing wrong”. All I just wanted Was to get rid of her so I don’t understand why you’re picking her side and besides you don’t even know what happened in the first place before jumping into conclusion.
She blurted out at him, not minding if she would sound really rude or not. “Impressive!!” You aren’t even having remorse for the harm you’ve done to her”. And you actually want me to keep up with someone like you??!
He uttered, finally making her understand where he was heading to as she scoffed. Letting out a mischievous grin.
“I knew where all this was heading to but I just wanted to avoid it from slipping away and maybe I could save the fish from drowning into the sea but…., She paused and let out a deep breath as she fixed her gaze at him.
“But I’ve tried enough and I think I’m tired of your actions as well”. “Let me help you do the talking so you could save yoursel from the stress that it bring.
“You’re tired of me right; you’re tired of this relationship and want us to part into our different ways, you no longer love me or longs for me like before and I understand!!” You no longer care for me and besides all, you no longer love me.
“I think you should have gone straight to the point back then instead of displaying this act trying to push me away and I guess I was so blinded in loving you that I couldn’t notice it. But it’s alright because I believe that we can put an end to all those things and I will no longer be a burden to you again.
“It’s not that, that isn’t my point but…” It doesn’t matter, Harley cut him off. It doesn’t really matter if that’s your point or not, let just end this Here”.
Harley uttered and walked out of him without giving him the chance or privilege to explain himself. She was really so sorry for herself and wished that she would never have dated him due to the contract their parents had. Tears stream out of her eyes as she enters her car and drives away.
She’s never going to visit him again except… Wasn’t she really too harsh on him? If she had brought down her voice then she’s certain that this shouldn’t have happened.
But worse of all, she loves him. She still has her heart panting for him and how’s she really going to get over that? How could she have dated someone who never cares for her, all because of trying to display or show her mother some respect by following her instructions.
As she was still in deep thought, her phone rang, bringing her back to reality. The caller was her mother.
She tried so much to control herself from sobbing but she ended up revealing it to her mother.
“What’s wrong my child, why are you crying?” Her mother asked as she took a deep breath. “Me and Brandon break up, mother, I feel so bad right now”. Ohhhh my Gosh, what exactly happened?
Her mother asks over the phone as she scoffs. “it’s a long story”.
“Listen to me Harley; I don’t know whether it’s a long story or not but….. you have to go back to Brandon”. With that, the call came to an end as she scoffed.
Why’s her mother insisting that she should get married to him? Why can’t she just understand?
