“What? Ms. Luo hasn’t been away for long but she doesn’t remember where to go now?” Noticing that Xia Weiwei paused after she’d just passed the door, Luo Chejue sneered.
But the reason Xia Weiwei paused was that she wanted to go straight back to her room as she didn’t want to face Luo Chejue. But at the sight of those stairs, she realized that she was disabled. She had always been carried upstairs by Yan Shaoxuan in his house before.
So she moved directly to the living room without a word.
Luo Chejue said to Chu Yu: “go and check if her legs are really useless.”
Chu Yu was born in a family of traditional Chinese medicine. Although he’d been vagarious, he was proficient in medical knowledge.
“No!” Xia Weiwei refused.
Luo Chejue’s eyes gleamed with a trace of darkness: “how do I know if you are not pretending it?”
Oh, sure enough!
He’d never doubted Xia Mo’s ulterior motives, yet he always felt that Weiwei was the one who had been nurturing schemes.
“I’m back because I’m still Mrs. Luo! I’m telling you, if you want to force me to divorce you and give up the shares, you might as well drop the idea!”
She would never divorce him!
Luo Chejue grabbed her collar and lifted her from the wheelchair: “I’m not Yan Shaoxuan, who would listen to everything you say. Take a look at yourself now! How dare a cripple set herself against me?” He slammed the divorce agreement on her face: “sign it right now!”
Standing aside, Chu Yu shook his head. Xia Weiwei’s stubbornness hadn’t changed at all, just like when she was madly in love with Luo Chejue. She didn’t even remember that the one thing Luo Chejue hated the most was having others against him. Her behavior was no different from digging her own grave.
Xia Weiwei’s face was in burning pain, and her eyes hurt due to the contact from the paper. She straightened her neck and refused to show the slightest trace of weakness: “I, will, not, sign, it! If you want me to, wait till I give birth to your baby! Otherwise, you and Xia Mo will never be able to stay together justifiably or get my shares! Allow me to remind you that karma’s a bitch! Xia Mo killed my child and now she’s paid for it with the life of her own baby!”
“How come it’s not you and her in hell right now? Luo Chejue, the biggest mistake I’ve ever made was falling for you, and marrying you!”
Tears ran down her cheeks, and she found it hard to breathe, not sure if it was because of his tight grip or the tears which were mercilessly stabbing at her wounds.
Luo Chejue twitched his lips, blue veins popping up on his forehead, and ruthless words ran out of his mouth like sharp blades: “you want me dead? If you don’t sign it, you will be dead! My patience is wearing thin. Chu Yu!”
Chu Yu shook his head as he walked over: “Jue, I never hit women.”
Luo Chejue loosened his grip and Xia Weiwei fell back into the wheelchair: “press her shoulders!”
She had to sign it today!
Chu Yu shrugged his shoulders and did what he was told. The bare-handed Xia Weiwei couldn’t resist at all.
Luo Chejue grabbed one of her hands, ruthlessly slashed one of her fingers with a knife, and pressed it against the last page of the agreement for her fingerprint.
“I won’t sign it! Don’t you dare make me! “Xia Weiwei tried hard to withdraw her hand, as if the piece of thin paper was a gnawing monster.
Chu Yu couldn’t bring himself to continue. Once divorced, she would be left with nothing, and she’d just lost her ability to walk…

The moment her finger reached the agreement, Xia Weiwei collapsed. Her only connection with Luo Chejue was now gone…
She felt like being entangled all over by thin threads, which then tightened and cut into her flesh little by little. She suddenly felt lost. She had so adamantly insisted on not divorcing him. Was it just for revenge, or… was it because she still loved him?
Xia Weiwei abruptly pounced on him and fell heavily on the ground, pressing the divorce agreement against her chest.
No! It was not over yet! It couldn’t just end like this!
Luo Chejue looked down, shooting her an indifferent stare: “if I can made you sign one copy, I won’t be afraid that you’ll destroy it. Stay here before you come back to your senses. I have enough money to support a disabled loser.”
Until they were both long gone, Xia Weiwei was still lying on the floor, for she couldn’t get up without help.
