Chapter 2: Don’t You Know What Kind of A Woman She Is?

Book:A Farewell to Mr. Luo Published:2024-5-1

Panic seized Xia Mo, with Lo Chejue’s sudden appearance.
Wasn’t it true that he never cared whether Xia Weiwei was alive? Did he visit here merely because she had just given birth to a child, who was his son after all?
Xia Mo was even more panic- stricken at the thought of this.
“Jue, it’s not like that…” Xia Mo argued in a hurry, her body freezing over when she sensed Luo Chejue’s piercing gaze.
He remained totally expressionless and stared at her in silence. Xia Mo felt her heart sink all of a sudden under his chilly gaze. The calmness in his dark eyes robbed her of the warmth.
It was very obvious what had happened, but she must not be distracted.
“Jue, I am so sorry. It’s all my fault. As his aunt, I merely wanted to hug my newborn nephew, but it was beyond my expectation that my sister intended to snatch the baby back out of anger. She was too weak to hold him fast, so… It’s all my fault, Jue! Please don’t blame her.”
With the panic on her face turning to regret swiftly, Xia Mo hurried forward before grabbing Luo Chejue by the arm, almost reduced to tears.
Upon hearing her words, Luo Chejue turned to look at Xia Weiwei.
She, deaf to her little sister’s words, was merely crawling forward, inch by inch.
Her child…
Suddenly, there was a shadow casting upon her.
Xia Weiwei raised her head slowly, gradually recognizing the indifferent person, his eyes, and tightly-pressed lips. It was Luo Chejue, whom she had loved deeply for eight years, as well as married for two years, however, she had got nothing except for a broken heart.
Xia Weiwei pressed the floor with all her force, her knuckles turning ghastly white. How could he remain calm after witnessing their son’s death, or stand in her way pretending nothing had happened?
“Get lost!” Xia Weiwei howled, and for the first time, she did it with intense hatred.
She, humbled by the passionate love, had lost everything. Now, she merely wanted to hug her son.
“Dear sister, it’s all my fault. Although you were the one who failed to catch him… I only intended to hold the baby. We are sisters. Why are you treating me like this?” Xia Mo pretended to wipe the tears off her cheeks before saying sincerely, “We all feel sad for the baby’s death, sis, but you shouldn’t vent your anger on your husband. You haven’t recovered from your labour, so please get up as soon as possible.”
As she was saying those words against her will, Xia Mo came up to hold Xia Weiwei up with affection. Given her excellent performance, Xia Mo was sure that her elder sister would be pissed off at once.
Unsurprisingly, Xia Weiwei pushed Xia Mo away with all her strength at once. With a wisp of gleam flickering in her eyes, Xia Mo, pretending to be sad, fell backward with a scream in surprise. When Luo Chejue wrapped his arms around her waist, she knew she had won.
How could Xia Weiwei, a silly girl, be her opponent! She already distanced herself from the baby’s death!
“Xia Weiwei, are you out of your mind?” Luo Chejue raised his voice with coldness and resoluteness.
At that moment, there was something broken in Xia Weiwei’s eyes, which was forced back by her immediately, in case her husband would discover.
Staring at Xia Mo lying sweetly in Luo Chejue’s arms, Xia Weiwei scrambled to her feet. Sisters? Absolutely! They are biological sisters! She could still recall Xia Mo calling her “sis” while running after her when they were young.
How stupid she was, not to know her little sister had always been coveting for her husband! Did he know it then?
Frowning heavily, Luo Chejue was completely infuriated. Why was Xia Weiwei staring at me like that? Was it pity, irony, or contempt? No matter what it was, he had already been offended. What made her think that she could stare at him like that!
“We need someone here.” Luo Chejue ordered coldly.
Lying in his arms, Xia Mo, with a shudder, couldn’t muster up courage to say a word.
Seeing the doctors stepping inside, Xia Weiwei had a bad omen.
“Ah! What are you doing! Let go of my son! You machine, Luo Chejue!” Upon watching her son snatched away, Xia Weiwei, not being able to keep calm any longer, intended to rush outside before she was stopped and held fast by Luo Chejue in his arms. Though trying her best to struggle, she still couldn’t get rid of him.
Being pushed away suddenly, Xia Mo staggered to her feet before regaining balance. She couldn’t help feeling jealous upon seeing Luo Chejue’s great care for her elder sister.
“Easy, sister. The baby is already gone. Maybe aunt Lan was so lonely that she wanted to meet her grandson!”
Xia Mo was reminding Luo Chejue that he should never forget it was Xia Weiwei who should be held responsible for his mother’s death. She also wanted to tell Xia Weiwei her son’s death was related to aunt Lan who intended to take revenge for herself. Luo Chejue would merely hate her more, instead of wondering how the baby died.
As soon as she finished speaking, Luo Chejue, freezing over for a moment, pushed Xia Weiwei to the ground harshly, and the blood on the floor almost stung her eyes.
She glared at Xia Mo with her bloodshot eyes, as if intending to tear her into pieces. Feeling her scalp tingling, Xia Mo couldn’t help taking several steps back. “Jue, is my sister okay?” She asked while leaning against Luo Chejue’s chest.
Xia Weiwei laughed, her pallid face tinged by a streak of crimson. Since she had lost her child, there was no reason for her to spare Xia Mo.
“Luo Chejue, don’t you know what kind of a woman she is?”
