“Whatever you heard about me and Layton their all lies. You know I would tell you anything Jen and I would never lie to you.” She crossed her arms giving her a disgusted look.
“Alright then please tell me the truth Gemini cause am dying to know.”
“What truth exactly? I have nothing to lie to you about. Please, Jen.” Gemini pleaded for Jennifer to understand her.
“Just tell me what this is all about and we can fix this.” Gemini reached out for Jennifer’s hand but Jennifer snatched her hand away then shoved the girl to the floor.
“Your pathetic and shameless Gemini so please don’t ever talk to me again. I honestly had respect for you and Layton.”
“Why won’t you just tell me?” Jennifer walked away from the girl leaving her shattered. Gemini made her way out of the store and back to Layton’s house as soon as she turned away from the door she saw Layton staring at her with complete disappointment.
“You left without company didn’t you?” She looked away.
“And then got yelled at and humiliated by some simple worthless human that I specifically told you to avoid.” Layton sighed deeply. He just didn’t understand Gemini’s thinking.
“Gemini you just can’t let people take advantage of you.”
“I know but she’s my friend, she just a little angry and how did you know?”
“I sent Strider after you and he told everything that happened.” Gemini sighed knowing Layton’s overreactive side.
“Gem how many times will you see that she is not your friend! Honestly, you give me a headache sometimes!” Layton squeezed his eyes trying to get rid of his nasty headache.
“No matter how kind you are Gem this world won’t care. Don’t you get it! So you better act like a grown-up and stop living in fantasies. This pack doesn’t need someone who can’t defend themselves.” Gemini gulped the words were painfully true it was time she started acting like a grown-up as usual Layton tried to ease his growing temper.
“You are an alpha Gemini and the others won’t respect you or listen to you if you’re weak.” Layton laid his hand on her shoulder.
“What’s the point? I can’t fight, am not fearless like you.” The girl whined.
“You can be only if you drop that act of yours and tell as soon as you have.” He walked away from her.
Morning came Gemini joined Layton on his morning straw.
“Hey what is it?” Gemini shrugged.
“Just thought of joining you.” There was silence for some time.
“Are you still angry with me?” She looked at the floor.
“No am not, if it’s about Andrea I would have done the same thing. Two if it’s about the whole weak thing then you were right, I should drop the act.” Layton stopped.
“Really?” His mate nodded and he found himself smiling which made her smile even more.
“I haven’t seen you actually smile before.” Gemini blushed and Layton chuckled.
“Am surprised me, I don’t really smile.” Gemini couldn’t keep her eyes off her gorgeous mate.
“I didn’t notice the dress your wearing, it looks cute on you.” Gemini gazed at her flower dress then smiled.
“Thank you, I thought you would love it too. I found it on sell and I could say I was lucky to get it but I think it makes me look weird.” He nodded just to stop the girl from talking even though the dress did make her look pregnant he just didn’t mind and in fact, it made him smile inside. They would make perfect and terrible parents he thought.
“What are you looking at? Just tell me if you don’t like the dress and please be honest.” She said remembering their first dinner.
“It’s nothing it’s just that you look perfect in it.” Gemini raised a brow.
“If I remember perfectly you said the same words so please tell me the truth, I won’t take it as an offense.” Layton nodded meaning he did like the dress. There was an awkward silence again, they hadn’t spent a lot of time together that they had no clue what to say to each other.
“Do you think am heartless or cruel?” Gemini was surprised at the sudden question and laughed to herself since when did Layton ever worry about his image.
“Of course I don’t. What made you ask such a question?” Layton sighed.
“Just asking. Want you to be more comfortable with me.” Gemini was heartfelt, she always thought Layton was heartless, cruel, and selfish as he cared most about himself.
“I never thought you were so caring, really sweet.” Layton smiled again and held her hand and looked deep into her eyes.
“I really love you a lot Lay.” Gemini surprised herself when she said those words. Layton, on the other hand, smiled widely, he did believe her cause of the look in her eyes so he leaned over and gave her a short kiss but tender kiss.
“I love you too Gem.” The girl’s face turned completely red that was the first time she had ever heard him say those words. She turned to the breathtaking view in front of her.
“I’ll stop talking to Jennifer if she won’t tell me what the problem is then I won’t beg her,” Layton smirked.
