“Go back to bed and get some rest.” He turned then smirked. “You’ll need it.” He lastly said then walked away after some time Gemini went back to her room. She really needed Donald that time, she smiled as she remembered the first day her father gave her that dear, and she still held on to it. She heard a knock on her bedroom door.
“Come in.” She said in a weak voice and Layton walked in holding a panda-like stuffed doll.
“Even though this is childish I feel like it will help.” He said as he threw the panda to her.
“Helped me when I was a kid anyway goodnight.” He said then left her room. She got up and locked her door even though it was locked she still checked several times before falling asleep with the panda next to her. Layton felt the need to have over his most prized possession to her after all he wasn’t a kid anymore. He later proceeded to work on his laptop.
Morning came and Layton had to head to work so he trusted Arlene to look after Gemini for him. Layton took his leave and Arlene made her way to Gemini’s room and woke her up.
“Can’t I just stay in bed for a little longer,” Gemini complained in her sleepy voice.
“Oh no miss, you have to wake up early,” Arlene said as she took the blanket off of Gemini’s body.
“It is not like am going anywhere. ”
“Your bath is ready.” Gemini was surprised due to the treatment she was receiving.
“Oh that wasn’t necessary, I mean am not a queen or anything.” Gemini scratched her head.
“But you are also our leader and since Layton and Strider left you’re the one in charge.” Gemini hesitated.
“I and Layton aren’t married yet so am not in charge.” She threw her arms in the air.
“Yes but Layton put you in control you see.” She smiled then folded the beddings. Gemini sighed then went to get her bath then went downstairs to make her breakfast. Arlene guided Gemini around the compass.
“Mrs. Vetteriano well I heard you will be in charge.” Hunter ran by.
“I guess but we aren’t married yet,” Gemini said meaning Mrs. and Layton’s surname. Hunter nodded.
“We have a problem.” Gemini felt her heart thud, it was just her first day to this in charge thing and she had no idea how to solve pack problems.
“What is it?” She asked as she trembled. Hazel took a deep breath.
“Well it’s an issue to do with the police, they are trying to push their way into our boundary.” Just as Gemini thought it wasn’t an easy issue.
“I don’t know…… call Layton and tell him.” She panicked.
“I tried to tell him but he isn’t answering my calls. He said he was super busy.” Hunter said.
“Haven’t you tried to do anything?” Gemini asked.
“Well, it would be impossible to take any action on the police. They have men who are monitoring us, if we don’t get rid of them this will get ugly.” Hazel said as he looked at some papers.
“Call Strider he could know what to do.” Hazel shook his head.
“Negative, Layton sent him somewhere and my calls can’t reach him.” Gemini felt stuck so she thought of going to talk to the police.
“Maybe I can talk to them,” Gemini suggested.
“But Layton strictly told us not to come in contact with them,” Hunter warned her.
“So what are we going to do?” Hunter shrugged.
“Not to forget another pack is still buying huge land in the west and the selling has increased,” Hazel added and Gemini thought.
“Inform the police about this massive buying surely it will drive their attention away from us and since your still struggling to find a way to gather information about them the police can do it for you.” Hazel thought about Gemini’s idea it thought it would work.
“Your right that’s actually really smart.” Hazel praised and Gemini giggled. Arlene smiled but wondered if Gemini did the right thing but she was happy for her. They took a little walk around the compass and she bumped into Jacob.
“Hey, you look amazing.” He said as he looked at her and she couldn’t help but blush a little.
“Thanks so I never knew you were part of this pack. Why is it that you never talked to me?” She asked.
“Well, Layton told me not to you know talking to you.” He said scratching his head. Gemini wondered why he was so overprotective.
“Am sorry, I just don’t know why he’s so ….. rude.” She said then sighed.
“It’s cool, I would do the same too. Anyway, I have to go get some work to do.” He layers left. Gemini preferred to go back into the house so Arlene followed, they sat and Gemini turned the TV on.
“Do you have any family?” Arlene asked.
“No,” Gemini said as she breathed in.
“Then who raised you?” Arlene asked as she thought.
“My grandmother but she passed some time ago.” It was still confusing for Arlene.
“What about you anything I need to know?” Gemini asked the woman.
“Well I went to the mating ceremony when I was nineteen and I got married but I lost him during a battle.” Gemini felt sorry.
“What about your family?”
