Since Xu Nuo had got the promotion in Marketing Department, she seldom went to the staff canteen but usually ate out. So Jiang Youyou would have meals with her workmate Mira. Mira was also an administrative secretary, but played a different role in charge of work. She mainly had more connections with the company’s factories. When she didn’t go the factory, she usually stayed in the office.
When colleagues, male or female as well, worked together often, feelings would arise among them. They worked extra hours together, were penalized together, went rafting together, barbecued together, and sometimes went home together after work.
Mira was from a country village. That was why she want to have a foreign name. She studied very hard and had passed TEM-8 (Grade 8 of Test for English Majors in China) and IELTS Test, but she had no money to apply to a foreign university. She went into this foreign trade company for an opportunity to look for a foreign boyfriend.
She had an oval face, big curly brown hairs, and she spoke Putonghua with a little rhotic accent. She could also speak fluent Cantonese. Although she entered the company three months ahead of Jiang Youyou, she was still a newcomer.
They had so much to share when they were talking with each other. Recently Mira had got a German boyfriend named Hank who sold medical equipment. She thought there were more Germans named Hank than Chinese named Jianguo. Hank was tall and strong, and looked very handsome in the video.
How important it is to master a foreign language!
Jiang Youyou speechlessly watched Mira chatting on MSN in high spirits. Hank was a previous client of the company. Mira’s predecessor gave a MSN account when she left and told her there was information of the clients that she shouldn’t lose.
The two chatted away and exchanged pictures with each other. They were very satisfied with each other. Hank proposed to come to China to pay a visit to Mira, saying that he would have a Chinese bride.
Jiang Youyou went with Mira to see Hank. He was not so handsome as she imagined. He was only rather tall and hairy, with blue eyes.
In the evening Mira went to the pub with Hank. Jiang Youyou was a bit worried about her. The next morning she felt relieved to see her coming to work calmly as if nothing had happened except that her two legs separated wider than usual.
As soon as she entered the office she turned on her laptop to chat on MSN. The computer had its own camera. She was giggling at the computer camera when Jiang Youyou saw Huang Yu coming. She coughed to warn Mira but she was still chatting on video, on the screen Hank was buck naked and his dick was big and soft.
Huang Yu patted Mira on the should, “Come to my office, please.”
All the chat records were on Huang Yu’s computer, and the time, place and content of the chat were recorded respectively, and the records when they were abed.
“You can leave now because you sold out the company’s secret.” Huang Yu said, “by the way, you can get this month’s salary in advance.”
Jiang Youyou was slapped across the face by Mira. She felt wronged, although it didn’t hurt much. Indeed she was the only one who knew about her relation with Hank, but she said nothing about it to anyone. How could Huang Yu know everything so well?
Before leaving, Mira said angrily, “I’m wrong in believing anyone.”
Huang Yu hand implanted a virus in every computer in the company which might show all chat records on hers. And all webcams were also registered, so that she could watch anything at any time.
Soon afterwards she was told by the colleagues at the company that Hank had run back to Germany when he saw Mira being fired and his MSN account was no longer online. Now Mira was looking for a job in the talent market. She once went to Labor Bureau to bring a lawsuit against the OSY Company for being fired. Mira lost the suit later, for the reason that the company had paid her, so her time at work was the time the boss had bought from her. If she did something that had nothing to do with her work at work time, the company was eligible to decide whether they fired her or not.
So it could be such a serious thing to chat on MSN at work time. Jiang Youyou cherished the job she got with every effort very much, and she worked harder than before.
The days of Zhao Huixin’s departure from her work were getting closer and she became weirder. The perfume on her body suddenly became very heavy and mixed with an indescribable odor resembling what you could smell when you were passing the sewer. Jiang Youyou heard Huang Yu scolding Zhao Huixin, “Even on the last day you must put your heart and soul to your work. Look what state you’re in right now. Do concentrate and focus on your work. What’s more, didn’t you return home yesterday? You’re wearing the same suit today as yesterday.”
