Since I came back from the hospital Mrs. Kathrine has been so protective that she pampers me like a baby and refuses me lifting a pin in the house, even when I try to be stubborn she tends to act more stubborn saying that my babies life come first
I won’t deny I feel so happy knowing that I have someone that cares about me just like my mum.
My boss too has been so good, and this time she changed my work and allow me to be working from home since I pleaded with her that I don’t want be staying idle at home, she was good enough to get me a laptop, and from there she sends me the sales and other and allow me to do the calculation from home
It’s been good a little bit stress-free since I don’t have to run around every day but I miss the tips I get from my customers
I have been on my laptop since morning working and taking record of every sale that my boss sent to me
After what happened I decided to get a cellphone from the money I saved so far, in case of emergency any other day so I can call Mrs. Kathrine
“How are you feeling dear?” Mrs. Kathrine asked sitting beside me
“I’m fine just working on this record”
“You’ve been working since morning don’t you think you need rest,” Mrs. Kathrine asked and I turned to look at her but was surprised to see that she has a worried look on
“You don’t look happy?”
“I want you to take a rest, remember what the doctor said, I don’t want anything to happen to your babies”
“But mom I’m stressing myself”
“You have been working since morning you need rest besides lunch will be ready very soon”
“Mom….”
“Enough…. I won’t allow you to keep making decisions for yourself again”
She stood up and took the laptop before walking toward her room
“Mom please just a little bit more and I’ll be done”
“That’s what you have been saying for the past five hours yet you’ve refused to leave the laptop alone, even the laptop needed some rest too”
” Fine fine I’ll rest happy now…!” I scream raising my two hands in a surrendering manner
She came out of the room smiling happily
“Yes that’s what I went for you to rest, and eat, your babies need that now, just wait a second I’ll be right back” She went towards the kitchen while I sat back on the couch resting my head
Suddenly the sweet aroma of fried plantain and beef stew engulf my nose, my mouth watered as my stomach growled in hunger
I stood up from the couch with my phone and rushed to the dining where Mrs. Jathrime is setting the food
“Wow this smells nice”
“You like it?”
“I love it….” I smile inhaling the beautiful aroma of the food
I was about to dig into my plate of food when my phone started ringing, I look at the caller and my whole mood changed immediately
“Is everything okay? Who’s that?”
“It’s the doctor, he wouldn’t leave me alone”
After visiting the hospital the other day, I met with the head of the doctors in the hospital, and he hasn’t stopped disturbing me with calls and messages
I told him I’m not ready for any relationship, I’m a divorcee and I have my kids to take care of but he’s not getting that I wonder what he wants
My first tightened on the phone, I didn’t bother to pick it but the God damn doctor didn’t see that as a clue to stop calling instead the phone kept on ringing persistently
“Pick it up dear hear him out”
“Mom I don’t want to… ”
“Just listen to him dear it doesn’t mean you’re accepting whatever he’s offering you”
“But mom…..”
“Please…..” Mum pleaded with her gaze
“Alright…..” I mumbled sliding on the green icon
“How are you doing beauty”
“I’m fine how can I help you today doctor?”
“You haven’t even replied to my greetings”
“Why will I do that not like your greeting will do any good for me today”
“Can we see today”
“I’m a very busy person doctor and I expect you to be, following your profession but if you’re not sorry I am so please have a nice day”
“Please wait…..” He made to talk but I ignored him and hung up the call
I turned to see Mrs. Kathrine looking sad
“Why are you like this?”
“Mrs. Kathrine can we not talk about this…”
“You still haven’t told me what happened to you and how you ended up in the prison, the doctor is a very young man and it seems he likes you”
“Okay I’ve had enough,” I said standing up from the seat as I made my way inside
“I don’t know what happened to your past relationship but it doesn’t mean you should treat other men like trash
I halted on my step immediately I heard what she said,
” Don’t judge me if you don’t know my story” I didn’t bother turning, I left for my room.
