I was almost ready for work, but still wondering why Robert is still on the bed, normally he would have left but today, he woke up early and has been working on his laptop since morning till now.
I was ready to leave when he suddenly asked
“Are you still not going to tell me where you go every morning?”
My heart leap in joy, could it be that he’s now starting to care about me, or no…let me not lift my hope so high, could it be that he’s now starting to like me
I turned towards him to see his gaze all focused on me,
“What do you want?” I asked praying inwardly for him to say what my heart has been yearning for, even though I know it’s too much to ask for
“Nothing, just want to know when you start whoring around……” He shrugged like he cared less.
My heart shattered as my hopes were crushed into a million pieces,
How could he think of me like that?
I couldn’t listen to his bulshi anymore. I turned around and walked away. I walked towards the garage and entered my car before driving off.
I drove into the company, not many people have come yet, I parked my car and entered the company to see Dad talking to mum
“Mum….!” I screamed and ran towards her engulfing her in a right hug
“My sweetheart, … ” She said lovingly hugging me back so right
Seconds later I pulled away from the hug, and check mum out to see she’s glowing more than before
“Gosh mum you’re glowing, tell me what’s that feeding you with” I nudge her shoulder playfully
“Ohh…come on you girl” She muttered shyly looking away from that
“Come on Princess leave my darling wife alone” Dad defended her immediately, watching my two parents love each other even at this age, I wonder when I and Robert would be like this
“Sweetheart……!” Mum called loudly patting my shoulder and jolting me out of my thought
“Ohh…mum what were you saying?”
“Are you okay??” She asked looking at Dad
“Sweetheart is anything the matter, you can tell us,” Dad said in a worrisome manner
“Ohhh no Dad, you too don’t have to worry, I’m okay”
“Are you sure?” Dad dragged
“Honey give me some seconds, I need to talk to my daughter”
“Alright….” Dad muttered and eyed me with eyes full of worry before leaving.
“So tell me, I know you wouldn’t speak up in front of your Dad,
“Mum…….”
“No lies sweetheart, I’m your mother and I know when something is wrong and right now, something is definitely wrong so tell me, open up to me I’m your mother” She persuaded me looking more worried
“Alright mother, it’s Robert I don’t know but these few days I started walking he suddenly started asking me where I go every day, and when I’m late he asked why I’m”
“So….. do you think he’s starting to like”
“No….. I can’t feel that, I don’t think that’s the issue”
“Listen sweetheart, spice up your marriage, do something to make it fun, and don’t allow his mistress to take your place”
“Mum….. how did you know about that?”
“Come on darling I’m not a child I know everything that’s going on….”
“Does it mean Robert’s mum know about this too?” I asked with widened eyes
“No…. she’s probably too busy to notice that”
“Mmmmm” I sighed feeling disappointed, I suddenly wished his mum knew, and I can’t tell them about that, cause it’s my family issue
“So mum, what do you think I should do?”
She smiles and caresses my cheek before holding onto my two hands,
“You have to love him, love Robert unconditionally”
“Mum, I did that already….”
“No sweetheart your good wasn’t enough, you have to try harder you haven’t been married for a long time, don’t give up on Robert, fight for him make him see you love him purely make him see the purity and genuine love you have for him”
“And what if he never sees all of that?”
“Then take the bold step”
“And by that you mean….” I dragged already having a clue of what she meant
“Leave, walk away ”
“Mum I can’t even think of doing that, mum I love this man so much”
“Let’s pray he reciprocates it one day”
“And if he doesn’t?”
“I won’t let you lose yourself loving a man who doesn’t deserve you, I’m your mother and won’t let that happen”

“Love him sweetheart but do not lose yourself in the process of loving him”

“You will be fine….” Mum kissed my cheeks
“Alright see you around” I muttered and started walking to my office, reminiscing all that I’d discussed with mum.
I entered my office and dropped my bag before sitting down.
Minutes later my secretary walked in with a cup of coffee
“Good morning mam” She greeted dropping the coffee on the table
“Good Morning Susan, how are you”
“I’m fine ma…”
“So tell me, what’s in my in my schedule for today”
“You have a meeting with the board of directors in twenty minutes, you have some clients from China waiting for you to have a one-hour conversation by ten and then Mr. Kelvin from Cyrus fashion company wants to have lunch with you”
“Alright is that all for today….?”
“Yes ma”
“Thank you, you may leave,” I said, opening my laptop, as I started replying to the email and also reciting my presentation for the meeting since I want to do it myself.
Throughout the whole day, I couldn’t focus, my thoughts were all about Robert and what mum said to me. Could it be that my good wasn’t enough?
What more do I have to do to make him see my sincerity,
“Princess……!” I heard Dad’s voice and look up to see Dad looking at me
“Dad, when did you come in?” I asked looking at the door
Dad sighed and sat on the visitor’s seat
“Princess you have been acting weird since today, you need a break”
“But Dad it’s not closing hour yet, besides I’m fine”
“Come on princess I’m not a child, there’s probably something worrying you that may have to do with Robert, I advice you go home rest, and figure things out for yourself”
“Da………” I wanted to call but then, mum’s advice reminisce in my ear “Spice up your marriage” I remembered her advice
“Sure, sure Dad thank you so much”
He stood up and walk towards me, he kissed my cheeks affectionately and pulled back
“Remember if you have something to tell me, don’t hesitate”
“Sure Dad” I smiled, and watch him leave. I stood up happily and packed up my bag deciding to give Robert a surprise dinner today, since he has started coming back home.
I went out of the company and drove home, I parked at the garage and step out, I entered the house to see that everywhere is quiet, I walk upstairs to our room and strip off my clothing, I settled for a bum short and a crop top, I was feeling excited about this evening already.
I walk into the kitchen, I don’t know Robert’s favorite food so I decide to make shrimp stew and rice.
I brought out my ingredients and started cooking, hours later I was done and satisfied with my handwork, I am sure Robert is going to like it.
I dish out food and we’ve it at the dining, I brought a bottle of wine and added too, I light a candle on the dining table and sprinkle some rose flowers on the table,
Everywhere now looks romantic even the atmosphere, it’s already dark so I decided to go shower before he returns, I off the living room light before going upstairs.
I entered the bathroom doing a joyful dance, I know I put a lot of hard work in this and I bet Robert won’t be able to resist it this time.
I came out of the bathroom dripping wet, I dried my body and settled for the red lingerie I bought the other time, I was done drying my hair when I heard the sound of Robert’s car driving into the mansion,
My heart leaped in joy and I rush out of the room in happiness, I was climbing downstairs when the door opened, Robert walk in…
“Why is this whole place dark…..?” I heard Rose voice and on the light,
“Woow…. this place smells nice….” Rose said in a locking tone
“Don’t tell me you did all this just to impress my man” She added,
I scoff inwardly at her boldness, calling my husband his man, I ignored her and walk to Robert
“Hi…good evening, do you want to freshen up or should I serve you?”
“Who told you to do all this?” He asked in a cold voice catching me off guard, this better not be what I’m thinking
“Don’t you like this, I did all this to bring the both of us together” I said and made to hold onto his two hand
“Don’t you ever in your damn life try to touch me with your filthy hands!!” He thundered drawing back,
I was shocked, I look led at my hands in confusion looking at Robert
“Are you calling me filthy?”
“What other language do you want him to use….” Rose lashed at me two
“Robert, please give me a chance that’s all I ask for…”
“Baby maybe we should taste her food,” Rose said in a mocking tone and walk towards the food, she opened it and gave it to Robert
“Should we show her how to eat?” She winks at Robert,
Robert smirked and held onto the plate his gaze not leaving mine, and right before me, I watch him pour the whole content of the food on the floor
My heart shattered into a million pieces, my legs wobble in weakness, I lost all my hope and strength
“Take…this trash” Robert cursed and threw the plate at me,
“Ouch….” I wince in pain as the plate heat my arm,
“Now you listen hatefully” Rose cursed holding onto my hair tightly hurting my scalp
“Rose you’re hurting me…..”
“Listen……” She tightened her hold on my scalp,
“Don’t you ever try to fit in where you do not belong, remember my warning he can never be yours….” She released me recklessly, while Robert stood and watch
“Clean up this mess,” Rose said to me, brushing her shoulder against mine before walking upstairs
Robert stood watching in excitement, he smirk and stood beside me, before he whispered into my ear
“Make use of the guest room tonight”
