After what happened at the beach today, I’ve been at home thinking, walking around the living room in thought, I’ve tried to change myself to look like Rose but yet that did not work Robert, I don’t think I’m the problem.
I left the living room and walk upstairs to our room standing in front of our full-length mirror and looking at myself, I don’t think I’m the problem, I changed myself to be like Rose but he said a thousand me is not up to Rose, maybe it’s time for me to stop being like other people, maybe it’s time for me to stop disturbing him
Maybe it’s time for me to stop begging him every time like I would die any minute without him, It’s time for me to return back to my old self, this time around I would be the one acting like I don’t care, I would busy myself so much that I wouldn’t have the time to think about him.
And just maybe…. I pray he comes back to his senses and see the true colors of Rose, let him see that Rose is not who he thinks she is….
Something seems off about Rose, but yet! I can’t place my hand on what it is…but I won’t rest till I find out what she’s hiding.
I took one of my bags from the wardrobe and left the room, I’m going to change my hair back to its original color, I’m done trying to be like somebody else only to be invisible, I’m done trying to make my husband see that I love him so much, I just hope that things will change for good this time around.
I flagged down an Uber and gave him the address of the salon before entering the car. The drive to the salon wasn’t long, I alighted and paid the Uber driver before entering the salon
Hours later, I’m now out of the salon looking like my old self and I must say nothing feels better than being yourself and not trying to be somebody else. Now it’s time for me to go home and reminisce on how my life will be from now on.
I just want something that will take my time and mind away from Robert, but for the time being I need to keep myself busy. I know I love Robert, but slowly I’m losing myself just trying to make him see just how much I love him.
The Uber driver dropped me in front of Robert’s mansion
“Thanks, mam” He muttered, taking his money
“You’re welcome” I smile entering the mansion. It’s dawn already and it’s getting dark. I entered the house to see it’s just the way I left it and Robert is nowhere in sight. I know he’ll be in Rose place, and I don’t have to worry cause that’s his usual spot.
I threw my bag on the bed and laid down feeling tired as fuck. I’ve had a long day and surely deserve to rest,
I pulled off my heels and was about laying down on the bed when a thought click into my mind
“Shit….” I smile sitting up immediately, I picked up my bag that was sitting next to me and ransack through it searching for my phone
“Yes…” I smile happily kissing my phone, I finally got a plan on how to keep my body and mind busy away from things about Robert.
At first, when I came back after my master’s my plan was to take over my father’s company, but when I heard I was getting married to Robert, all those thoughts flee from my mind, my only priority was to be the best wife for him, but now…. I think it’s time to go back to my dream which I abandoned, It’s time to boss up and show Robert I can be the lady he could be proud off
I scroll through my contact searching for my Daddy’s number, at last, I saw it and smile
“Banger….” I smirk clicking on the green icon and dialing his number.
It didn’t ring up to three times before I heard my Dad’s voice booming through the phone
“Hi princess, how are you doing?”
“I’m fine daddy, how are you and mum?”
“We’re doing awesome princess, hope Robert is no longer messing up”
“No…. dad he’s not, we’re both fine now…” I said to Dad not wanting to bore him with my problems though my conscience is screaming at me for lying, but I don’t think it’s wise to discuss my family issue with my parents, I think boundaries should be set, I know more a kid
“Princess, can you hear me….!!” Dad’s loud voice jolted me out of my thought
“Ohhh…. no dad I was off for a bit, so what were you saying”
“Okay, so hope all is well?”
“Yeah…sure, all is well Dad I just want to talk to you about something”
“Wow, so come on darling I’m all ears”
“Mmmm….” I cleared my throat trying to form a sentence
“Daddy……”
“Yes princes, I’m listening”
“Daddy I’m ready to take over the company as the CEO” I finally voiced out my thought
“Wow…. darling that’s good news, I’m so happy to hear this, you wouldn’t believe how long I’ve been waiting for g to hear this from you” I could sense the humor and happiness in his voice right now
“Sorry I took time Daddy, I just wasn’t thinking”
“It’s okay my princess, the good thing is you made up your mind and that’s the most important thing”
“Right….?”
“Yes darling, so when will you be coming over to the company let me officially introduce you to the board of staff and directors.
” Tomorrow Dad, you will see me tomorrow”
“Great, then tomorrow it is…”
“Yeah….” I smile feeling fulfilled
“So what will I call you now, congratulations my young CEO”
“HAhaha……” I laugh and imagine the smiles that will be all over my dad’s face right now
“You’re so funny, dad”
“I love you, my daughter”
“Love you too dad, you’re the best”
I dropped my phone on the bed, feeling like I’d just made the best decision of my life after a long time. I was already tired for today, so I laid down on the bed and slept off.
“Kerr………..!!!!” My alarm rang madly disturbing my sleep, I took the alarm and made to slam it upside down when my eye trailed on it and saw the time
“Shit….” I curse standing up from the bed and running into the bathroom, but I came back again and looked toward Robert’s side of the bed to see it’s just like I left it last night. I sighed and walked back into the bathroom not feeling disappointed because I’m getting used to it.
I came out dripping with water, I took one of the dry towels from the hanger and dried my body. I applied my body cream before walking to my closet and trying to search for clothes to wear since today is my first day at work I want to look good
After rumbling through the closet for a while, I settled for a knee-length blue gown and black heels, coupled with a matching black handbag. I stretch my hair and brush it. I applied light makeup, and right now I look exceptionally beautiful
Looking at myself in the mirror I wondered what I was thinking trying to look like somebody else,
“All the best” I placed a kiss on my right cheek wishing myself a good day at work.
I took my bag and walk out of the room, I was climbing downstairs when the living room door opened and Robert walked in
He was looking tired, I knew he was just coming back from Rose place,
His gaze focused on me, I know he will be wondering where I’m going this early morning all dressed up
“Good morning” I greeted and made to walk past him, but he suddenly held onto my right arm
I was shocked, I retraced my step and look at my arm that he’s holding before staring back at him
“Where are you going all dressed up?”
“Excuse me….?”
“Don’t mess with me Rissa, where the fuck are you going”
“Hmmm.” I scoff looking at my husband who suddenly sounding like a wounded lion
“You mean….. the same way you tell me of your whereabouts”
“Rissa……”
“Excuse me Robert Declan but I owe you no explanation and if you don’t mind, I’m already late for my meeting” I flung his hand away and walked out, slamming the door along.
